Myself and my husband had the unfortunate experience of stopping off at Birch Services, we decided to have the English breakfast which was cold and inedible, the coffe was also cold and this privilege cost us £20, the staff were miserable and didn't seem to know what they were doing (can't blame working there), the dining area was fithly no clean tables and litter and food all over the floor, the cutlery still had food left on it, that is a hazard in itself. I hadn't read the comments previously written by customers as it was a spur of the moment stop off, blimey I wished I had. Get your act together Birch Services or close down, you really are a waste of peoples money. We shall never stop off there again and I have told everyone I know not to as well. But looking at the dates on some of the comments previously written you have taken nothing on board.

I would like to comment on the lack of organisation at your Burger King , and the poor service my wife and i received after we had ordered our meals and drinks. After waiting over 25 minutes to the side of the tills i asked for the Manager so i could ask why i had been waiting so long for my Chicken Royale & Sweet Chilli Chicken wrap meals to arrive. A young lady with long blonde hair approached me and after i told her i was not happy with the service and would like a refund as the coach i was travelling on was about to leave hence i could not wait any longer for my meal, she said she woukld be back in a minute to which she dissapeared. A number of other customers were also asking for the Manager as they too had been waiting for as long as i had , in the end i asked a young man who had just come back from his break for assistance as the Manager had dissapeared. I was given a refund of £12.38 but no apology or explanation as to why this had occured.By this time i had to rush to the coach i was travelling on still hungry and some what aggitated. My overall experience was one i wish to never experience again. I will not be stopping at yopur services again whenever i am passing again. Just thought your future customers should be warned about the servioce or lack of it from your Burger King.

richard pearce, 20 February 2012

Please can you tidy and clean the Burger King more often. I visited approx 7pm on a Sunday evening (yesterday) and most tables had rubbish on them plus litter on the floor. Even tables without rubbish were dirty. If I hadn't been v hungry I could not have faced eating there and It made it a depressing meal.

Thank you

Officially hell on earth a soul destroying place to work and visit.staff are paid minimum wage yet consumers are charged upto 300% of the actual market value if you had any financial astuity or infact common sense you would not succumb to this extortion,it is a fact that if the audits were carried out completely unexpected or subject to an external body they would be shut down in an instant. Employees are treated like shit so inturn so are the customers,,why visit a business which has a direct marketing plan that is to sell shit food for ridiculous prices, would you accept paying £5000 for your car insurance knowing that the cover you will receive is below par different context same concept don't be an idiot

Judgement, 13 January 2012

Looked like a building site. By 8pm, Costa & KFC were already closed. The food at the cafe was cold. The whole place reminded me of that song "Ghost Town" by Fun Boy Three. I was left with the impression that "Birch" was an acronym for "Blimey, It's Really Crap Here!" ;-)

Carrie Prior, 1 January 2012

i dont think birch service is suitable for anyone, VOSA are always stopping coaches for check up and keeping the passengers stranded for hours. the staff inside are not very helpful either, they need customer service training.

bilal hassan attari, 11 December 2011

hi, im a coach driver ive been stopping at your moto birch services for the past 3 weeks, due to having manchester jobs. ive been given out of date vouchers by your staff, which were refused by whsmith last night when i stopped for my passengers. can you please investigate and let me know whats happening asap.

Is the Eastbound shut following a fire the other weekend?

Highway Man, 10 November 2011

I put fuel in my tank on wednesday 12th October 2011 evening , on EAST bound service station
The car stopped a couple of miles down the motorway
We had to be taken home on the repair truck
I had my daughter and her 4 month old baby with me

I telephoned the service station and they confirmed that I had filled up from the correct pump

At the garage , the mechanic has confirmed that the fuel was in fact DIESEL not petrol as stated at the pump and confirmed by the manager

This has caused great distress for my family and financial hardship.

How do you suggest I proceed to claim remuneration/ compensation?

Has this happened to anyone else?

susan Jordan, 14 October 2011

I stopped in at Birch today going towards Leeds. Had a hot fresh Whopper meal for myself and the children were made up as always with their kids meals. So okay, the Burger King is a little more expensive than the high street but its very convenient when the kids start moaning they are hungry mid route. I could have crossed the bridge to use Marks and Spencers which would have been cheaper but driving is stressful and I wanted comfort food.

I have read some of the other comments on here. Strange that it appears to be a place where disgruntled employees air their views but lots of the customers seem quite happy. How sad.

Its not the first time I've used Birch and won't be the last. Thumbs up today!

Ellen, 1 October 2011

Stopped off at Birch Eastbound on the way back home for a break. The toilets seem to be tucked round the back of the services and were very cramped. A coach party from Scotland had pulled in a few minutes previously so some had to wait. For what is the main services in/out of Manchester I would of expected better.

JB, 2 September 2011

costa coffee westbound has great staff, shop floor looks clean and tidy and they do the best coffee ever!!thank you

karen smith, 30 July 2011

first off, i m a video maker/editor, second off, i ve been going to birch services every tuesday, friday and sunday night for the past 4-5 years. almost without fail bar some exquisite breakdown, and i have to say it possibly the finest services i have ever attended. the coffee is superb (granted thats the only thing i have) and there is more seating room then i would care to imagine.

Many other services simply lack the decor and sophistication of birch, elegant yet functional, and do not forget, that walkway over the motorway will come in handy when the dead rise! mark my words.

tvanalogue, 17 July 2011

this has got to be the worst area of business i have ever been to in my life from both a public and employee perspective..there are rats everywere; women are forced to carry rubbish downwalk ways with rats running around there feet.the management have no people skills and have the education and consequent qualifications of monkeys, all pressure is placed on financial management with a complete disregard to the direct effect on both staff and customers.it is an unhappy and demoralising place to both work and eat and i openly pity any one still under moto employment and more so anyone using the services.

///, 11 June 2011

Been in the westbound today and noticed some changes. There appears to be a new gaming area in addition to the one up near the toilets and there are some new products in the Costa and restaurant. Decided to have a macaroni cheese and it was lovely. The ladies said it was the first day of selling it. Big thumbs up.
Thanks,

i worked here a while ago now. got along with most staff but felt intimidated by a few managers! never had any stock in and from what i here still havent. a lot off staff has quit because of the way they were treated training was rubbish. had to watch and learn myself because nobody bothered to teach me. worked well over my overtime and they never paid me overtime pay! didnt pay me some bank holiday. dont blame customers for moaning at us all the time but at the end of the day its a job someone needs to do it and unfortunatly at one point i was one of them. and they only bothered to proper clean and make sure everything was stocked up when they new the audit was due, now they should keep it clean and stocked up anyway whether the audit is due or not! and they are actually nice when the audit is in.should be in more often. work from hell!!

......................, 26 March 2011

I witnessed an over enthusiastic male manager (Rob on the name badge) tell off a young female staff member - in such a demoralising, sarcastic and belittling manner she was brave enough to only just ward off tears ! Bullying gone made if you ask me - There is no need for this in front of customers

Lynn STeele, 26 March 2011

Hello
I visit the Birch Services West bound usually Monday to Friday and I have been visiting you for many years. The staff serving are extremely pleasant and should be congratulated for the great work that they do. My drink is always made to my request and if its not warm enough they are happy to oblige.

I dont think I would be able to function without my morning drink!

Keep up the good work and thanks.

anonymous coward, 25 March 2011

I visited your services today food was great staff was great!!!

toni, 8 March 2011

here you have five cleaners who clean these toilets every five minutes now you come to somerset. and clean in a service station down here ive spoken to one of our cleaners who cleans the service station i go in. and he cleans the cafe the shop the games area the ladies the hall way the burger shop the car park the garage toilets. and the garage so you are all lucky to have five cleaners than having one cleaner. but if there was only one of you to clean the full service station i bet you wouldnt be in every five minutes would you. or you wouldnt do it if there was only one of you.

unknowen name, 2 March 2011

Just been in for another BK. It was really busy and took me five minutes to get served. I was apologised to for the wait but when the food came it was hot and fresh. Can't ask for more than that. Thanks guys, and especially Helen on the till.

james, 21 February 2011

all this bad press, this page is aslo for good comments, people only seem to want to complain and never praise, i found birch services welcoming and the food was fresh and hot. Mary

anonymous coward, 10 February 2011

I passed through birch services on friday afternoon and my experience was really nice,I was served by a nice young lady in the burger king department she was very pleasant and friendly, I dont really have any experience in these kind of food outlets but she was very attentive to my needs and made me feel very welcome indeed, I would almost certainly recommend you stop at this service station and see for yourself that it is not all bad publicity.

anonymous coward, 9 February 2011

I went to costa last week, the food and service was great!!

claire langley, 4 February 2011

i visited your services today, i have to say my experience was very different from the comments ive just read, i went to burger king today for lunch the service was fantastic, the food was hot and fresh and the whole place looked clean and tidy i would definatly reccomend.

claire, 4 February 2011

Not knowen, let us know what the manager says when investigation finished love to know the outcome maybe they can investigate the comment on here from a rude member of staff prior to your comment sounds like a right mess at this service area they are blaming us the general public for a clear management control. Get a grip mgt at birch

dosser666, 2 February 2011

i spoke to the manager and she as told me shes going to investergate it so i hope they do cause what every they call everyone it is a crime and they can get into trouble for being homerphobic against the men who use these toilets

not knowen, 2 February 2011

Hi to all those people who think the staff of burger king are rude and il mannered . This comment is for you Iv worked in burger king as a general assistant for nearly three years and since Iv worked here all Iv ever had is negative feedback for my assistance to the public well here's a news flash for you lifes a bitch don't moan at me when I can't give you what you want because I don't have the stock or the staff to give you your three min meal . Because it's not our fault we have a budget and are not allowed to over spend on it for staff and stock so if you ever wonder why your meals come in kids bags that's the reason and another thing I am sure as hell not paid enough to listen to the shit you have to say about the standard we are setting especially when you want rapid meals and there is three staff on and you stand there acting clever chanting "where's my chicken royal" and tearing my till apart and stealin our charity boxes so i appologise on behalf of all moto that you have no patience

anonymous coward, 1 February 2011

Dosser666, 31 January 2011

i was in the cubical the other day. and i heard one of your staff calling every one perverts that uses theses toilets. and i complained to the cleaner. and he said whos shouting it i said i dont know but i did hear them remarks some one in your services is homophobic. so you need to understand everyone who uses theses toilets wont use them any more. cause of this person and ive tryed ringing the manager and all you get is a fax machine so i couldnt complain. so im not using your services again

not knowen, 30 January 2011

Want to disagree with many of the posts on here, i visit Birch and a number of other services weekly during my work travel and have found Birch to be one of the better services on offer. The staff are always very keen to help and i have always had a good experiance. The East bound service are a little old but in my experiance always kept to a good standard.

frazer, 15 January 2011

I used to work at this services a few years ago. I have a very diffrent view of it. We were well trained, everyone had basic food hygiene certificates and we were audited alot and mostly when we didnt expect it to make sure that the standards were met all the time.
I still use this services regularly because having worked there I trust it. I usually only use Burger King and Costa and there are still alot of the faces I knew from a few years ago so its obviously not bad or people wouldnt stay.
The food is always good and if its not, its refunded or replaced so no one should walk away unhappy. You dont even get that in some top restaurants!
As for the person who commented on Travelodge. Moto dont run Travelodge, and you should take it up with them. And Amy, if you are so unhappy, leave!
The leeds bound side isn't going to win any beauty contests but the Manchester side is fairly new and has a really nice feel to it.
I would have no problem recommending Birch services.

james, 15 January 2011

I work here and now i am gettign sick of the place, we all signed new contarcts which we had no choice in doing and now they are sending us home early and we (the staff) are losing nearly 10hours a week as most people at birch live together or husband / wife this is alot and it`s all down to the managers, they walk around all day smoking and drinking coffee they only do something when an audit is due, they never stick to rules and regulations. Food on edc is put on at 7am they use the food which can be sat there till 3pm!! Managaers have even told me to not cook food to save money like anyone is going to wait for a pie or jacket potatoe, the place is disgusting and should be shut down indefinatly but i guess the audits never get to see this or the owners. Staff are unhappy and rude because thats the attitude they recieve of managers all day!!

amy, 13 January 2011

i came in to your services to go in to the toilet. and as passing i looked over to the cleaner. and she give me a right dirty look which i dont know why she gave me that look. i havent done anything to her or spoke cause she donseant under stand what you say any way. so why give me that look i only came to use your toilets not to get dirty looks off you cleaner. and another thing the same cleaner dose your mens every five minutes which ive been in other services. and there cleaners arent in every five minutes they come when its dirty if i was one of your cleaners. and you asked me to come in every five minutes id ask you for more wages not what you pay now.

j hall, 8 November 2010

stayed at travelodge on 27th october 2010 no soap in bathroom no bedding for childrens beds no remote for the tv and one towel to share between the four of us. had breakfast in the services the following morning the floor was filthy with food and litter everywere the full english breakfast was without doubt the worst i have ever had left most of it totally inedible £6.99 for a plate of slop the whole place is a total disgrace.

anonymous coward, 29 October 2010

went to the burger king, never had an unpleasent service except today, after waiting five minutes, as the girl can only take one order instead of getting a few orders at the same time(thought it was fast food),i took a voucher handed it the girl she looked at it like id handed her a piece o s@@t, then said "we dont do these","o i said well whats that on the wall that says u do",she walked off in a huff, when i said sort your customer out she had a go sayin "ya what what ya sayin dont have to be rude" says it all,im ashamed that the place is in my post code, the food was disgustin to worst ive had and im addicted to burger kings

david ronan, 15 October 2010

What a filthy place. Friday October 8th westbound not a clean table in sight. The place was not busy Women who should be clearing tables gossiping instead if working. The floor was littered with bits of table napkins and food. Having just come back from USA where people are proud to keep their workplace clean and tidy.I felt ashamed.Come ON.

S. Hardman, 10 October 2010

am a regular visitor to birch services.after a recent win on one of thier bandit machines, the machine paid me out 55.00pound short.a was told i could collect it a few days later.still havnt paid me 2 weeks later.wat a rip of.

TAZARAT HUSSAIN, 28 August 2010

Just avoid the place.........Its the pits

Michael Johnson, 25 August 2010

Didn't expect much but pleasantly suprised. Facilities more than adequate, clean toilets and staff friendly. Especially liked the coffee area, very nice.

ken, 11 August 2010

Dear oh dear. I thought motorway services had improved over the years. We visited on Monday 12 July around 10am. There wasn't a huge amount of people in, but clearly there had been as there wasn't one clean table. It was freezing cold. My husband queued - he was the only one - at ED for a full English breakfast. When he asked the young lady if there were any trays, she didn't turn around or acknowledge him; she just went in the back, brought out some trays and virtually threw them into the holder. The guy serving left my husband's breakfast whilst he dealt with an elderly lady, who couldn't speak very good English, and who wanted to pay in Euros. The breakfast was appalling. I queued at Costa Coffee. Staff were slow, chatting to one another - there were more staff than customers in the queue but it seemed to take forever. The couple behind me had sandwiches ... only to get to the front and be told they had to pay at the ED counter! How frustrating. All in all a very disappointing visit, and one which I seriously considered writing personally to The Manager about. What a shambles!

Linda Noble, 13 July 2010

Called here on way back home for a short break. The toilets weren't too bad. The place looks shabby but to be fair there are worse places on the motorway network.

Yet, despite the limited facilities given the time of day it wasn't too bad. However, I have to comment on the lack of lighting, perhaps the lamps on that side of the car park (East bound) were just out of order temporarily but it was difficult to access the site to cross the bridge to the Westbound site where the facilities were open. Staff friendly but both mentioned the lack of lighting and concerns about security. Hopefully if management see this the issue can be looked into urgently staff and users security should be just as important as providing a safe place to rest and get refreshment/fuel.

Gary Farrimond, 13 June 2010

it was not good

simon walker, 5 May 2010

the services loos are to small if you had 12 coaches come in on bank hoilday monday going to wigan they need to be a bit bigger

simon walker, 5 May 2010

A business colleague and my self visited this services last week. After a burger king (took 10minutes for two meals). After an hour chatting in burger king we had a dable on the bandits. An hour and a half later after managing to lose a small fortune we left.

Then I get a letter saying because we were there over two hours they were fining us £80!

Ridiculous! They have now lost us as customers! We never left the property (which is MOTO's whole justification behind issuing charges).

I advise everyone not to go to any MOTO service station to spend money (just go use the free facilities!) a company like needs to be taught a lesson!

E, 19 April 2010

Thursday 15th April 2010, stopped at Birch Westbound for my official tachograph break in my truck, truck park full but coach park empty, after 12 minutes was told If I didn't move I would be given ticket, I told the guy I was on official tacho break and there was no other parking, "not my problem, move or i will give you a ticket", nice attitude!

John Sunman, 15 April 2010

I know that Moto have an appeals process for anyone who feels they shouldn't have received a parking notice. If you or someone you know has been a customer or fallen asleep and a parking notice has been issued, log onto the moto web site and get in touch with them.

Heather Eilbeck, 1 March 2010

A colleague and I arrived for an afternoon discussion in the coffee lounge. We didn't read the fine print of the parking notice, assuming that when you are eating and drinking throughout the afternoon, and paying heavily for the shabby and overpriced facilities, you do not also have to pay for the privilege of parking. Having unwittingly exceeded the 2 hours, my colleague and I were each charged £80 by these greedy and unscrupulous scumbags. Advice: avoid this dump at all costs.

Alister W, 16 February 2010

Please take note when paying for petrol at BP with card, that on your left,at counter towards window there is a dished mirror about 4" dia at shoulder level. Why is it there?

LESTHEREP, 17 November 2009

i visited birch on my way home to the west midlands from leeds and what a shock, my wife and i ordered a breakfast and my son only wanted toast (which was cold) after the shock of watching 1 member of staff at edc run round serving everybody and being watched by other members of staff in the same uniforn i may add just standing around talking without a care in the world was hit by an absolutely extortionate bill, the food itself i would not of fed it to a stray dog.
My wife had to ask at the counter if they had any clean cuttlery because the ones in the trays were covered in dry food that had not come off when allegedly washed, i would love somebody to tell me what if any the standards for these places are.

dave c, 17 July 2009

£160 to Park - What a Rip Off.

I met a colleagues at the services and we stayed just over 2 hours and the lovely thoughtfull staff at Birch logged my entry and exit time on NPR cameras and billed us both £80 each. I expected to get ripped of for the £20 we spent on a couple of coffees and a burger but this is just highway robbery and I will never visit as Moto Services again (only to use the toilet).
By ripping us off they have lost regular £60 tanks of diesel and lunches.

i work there and the staff get treated so badly by the managers. it is an awful company to work for and the customers who come of long drives and then take their frustration out on us is appauling. Maybe try giving the staff some respect if you want them to treat you nicely. I am always polite to customers and smile at them and treat them nicely but 9/10 get a dirty look or some sort of negative comment or complaint. Being at work and being badly treated by both management and staff doesn't exactly make us want to bend over back wards for you.

The bridge is falling down, there is no heating on the atually bridge, temperature is probably in the negative. There is mould growing all over the walls. The food in the resturant is there for up to 7 hours!! If the coffee machine in EDC is broke and is producing crap coffee then they won't tell you. If you think the actuall service station is bad then you should see our staff room!! Roll on my interview for a new job on friday!!!

??, 9 March 2009

Hope it's not really THAT bad :S
I may be meeting my friend there soon, and possibly I will stay away from eating food from there after these comments! Eww.

Hannah, 11 January 2009

Had to nip in cause the kids were hungry. Burger King, 3 members of staff, took 15 minutes to serve 2 customers in front of me !!!! Then to top it all, what costs less than a quid in the city center stores ( a plain cheeseburger), where the land rates are alot higher, £3 !!!!! a 300% mark up, where the staff are on the same minimum wages in all the stores, but they dont have the high land rates. Time for the regulators to step in now.

Open the market to other operators, make them fight for the right to opertate the sites. Like all the other services have to.

Simonn, 21 September 2008

Stopped at the westbound services on the way to Newcastle. I thought they were very clean and looked very nice. Will certainly be stopping there again. Only dissappointing thing was you had to cross over to the eastbound to access M&S Simply Food.

cal, 13 June 2008

My partner who has MS and uses a wheelchair finds this service area a joke. No automatic doors, the whole site on a steep hill going in, the toilets right the way round the building,an afterthought of a lift to get up the steep stairs, etc etc etc

chris lyons, 10 May 2008

well,as many of you have commented on the rediculous prices birch services deem as reasonable, they recently found a new way of robbing me!after an 8 hour induction to employment they refuse to now pay me,so well done management at birch, yet again you strive to make the public pay the cost of your incopetence

rob melia, 27 March 2008

when i visited birch services after a long day of travelling i was that pleased with the facilties ad politness of staff that i didnt no where to eat when i finally made the decision to eat at burger king the staff was very polite and the service was great i will definitley be coming there again and would like to thank everyone who works there for making me feel so comfartble and happy with my stay.

charles wilson, 2 March 2008

Jade, i agree, i've worked there, not long but everyone is friendly, i never felt so welcome.

Guest, 27 December 2007

I cannot understand why people are complaining about the staff so much. It is one thing to moan about the fact they may not be able to speak English - it is quite ironic when the person complaining can hardly string two words together in a sentance himself, let alone in any corrct structure of grammer! Please check all spellings before posting. it makes it difficult for the literate memebers of society if you don't.

anonymous coward, 12 December 2007

i have just took time to read these commemts, and i was appauled. I worked at this services station for 2 and a half years i dont think i ever come a cross ants on the new side, the staff are all friendly and down to earth people.

jade, 20 September 2007

well pissed off today. found out by checking my bank account that i got charged twice a total of 6 pounds for a chicken and mayo sandwich as if its not a rip off there any way. BURGER KING WAS CLOSED AND THEN I GOT ROBBED possibly whsmith if i remember right?

dan robinson, 4 August 2007

My 14yr old son visited your toilets today and as comented on the lack of hygene in the place the toilets smelled and the cubicle were unclean and covered in grafitti

joanne , 30 July 2007

The staff are so dam rude plus the food is no better, this is the worst Motorway Service area in the UK

Ron McCullock, 30 June 2007

Personally, on my many sojourns through our beautiful country in my motor car, I like nothing better than to stop at one of our fine roadside restaurants. In this case Birch services, located just off the M62, near the delightful hamlet of Heywood and the nearby town of Bury (Famed for its market) and enjoy a delightful sausage sandwich, and a cup of rather reinvigorating tea to swill it down with. A most pleasurable excursion and one I shall be repeating soon. Do i win a prize?

Sergeant Bullworth-Feltz, 6 March 2007

Mould growing on tomatoes in the 'childrens' meal selection.

Ignored by staff when wanting to pay.

Cappacino - not drinkable.

This does not reflect other Moto services visited

jayne gledhill, 5 March 2007

There is good access to this service station from the motorway

Lesley, 10 January 2007

Visit this service station quite often. Yes as others have commented crap & over priced food & drink. Taps in gents toilets are useless. What I find a real pain is the ladies pestering you as you come in to sign up for various things like credit cards. They do not seem to understand a simple NO. Give you a tip come of the M62 and you find some great cafe's.

David Firth, 6 January 2007

Well... The food is expensive and not very good, although the staff were friendly enough. There are some eccentric people who work there yes foriegners, gays lesbians etc but arent we equal opportuity now? Its ok to complain about food or hygiene.. and dont pay for something if its crap and that way they may actually have to deal with the problem, but don't dis ppl cos they speak a foriegn language most of those 'foriegners' have a much better education than the average working class person.

Lysander, 27 December 2006

can not understand why everyone is moaning, once again a motorway sevice station has failed to let me down, cold sausage, snotty egg bullet like beans cold coffee and after paying for it no money to buy petrol, also the staff are very friendly as they can only smile because they can not speak english. KEEP IT UP

simon o'neill, 27 November 2006

in the retail shop on the east they are friendly and polite.they have quick service and they will help you when needed.i have been there a few times and was served by a young female named emma who helped me undersatnd the offers that they had on. so well done emma.

Having spent a none too comfortable night in the adjoining Travelodge I looked forward to a breakfast prior to travelling home. My wife and I purchased two "traditional breakfasts" which,if we'd paid a couple of quid for, we'd have accepted them as being ok, but given the cost AND the poor nature of the food - cool bread, rubber sausages, hard bacon - I feel we were let down badly.I couldn't even purchase a glass of milk for our garandson so I ended up using umpteen pots of milk set aside for tea and coffee. There were no serviettes and when I asked one of your staff to clean a "filthy" high chair, I found out the poor man couldn't utter a word of English. Having just returned from Spain and having travelled there many times you should perhaps be aware that people in the "public service/tourism" industry have at the very least a basic understanding of English. Why do you employ these people? It seems to me that these people are employed "on the cheap" and you obviously care more about your shareholders and profits than you do about the very people that keep you in business.

Westbound services were open and fully functional - the area was clean and tidy, staff were dressed as easter bunnies!! Food was good; eaten outside on the patio overlooking the fountain and fields behind the car park. Nice to see WHSmith shop.
I had parked on the Eastbound and chose to walk over to their newer services on the other side to try out; eastbound were not very busy as oposed to the other side.

Does it seem strange to anyone else that Ron McCullock keeps going back to this services if he hates them so much?Last time i was at Birch it was still being rebuilt westbound, but eastbound seemed ok

Birch Eastbound has a long walk to the toilets.
Birch Westbound was burnt down a couple of years ago and is now a brand new shed-like services, with rather odd washbasins in the gent's toilet.
