Tell us all about your experiences of this service area.
On our way northbound and decided to stop at your services. Whilst sorting our dog out we accidentally locked our car keys in the boot of our car having already locked the rest of the car. We had however left the rear window open about 2 inches. Many people tried to help us gain entry. I asked inside if they had a utensil to help undo the lock through the open window of which they gladly helped, when I returned it, and still no luck getting in car the staff of Burger King were very concerned and called the duty manager and at the same time offered me a coffee. When I went back outside a member of the public had helped my husband gain entry into car, but the keys were still in boot of car and no way of getting to them through backseat. The duty manager named Jag came out with her trainee and promptly got my husband and myself a coffee and offered a sandwich as well. After all options were exhausted, the duty manager spent a long while on her phone getting us the help we needed to gain entry into the boot of the car. We spent a long two and three quarter hours in the service station and in all this time we experienced nothing but helpfulness and kindness especially from your duty manager Jag and her staff of which my husband and myself are truly grateful

Yesterday night at around 10:50 I was at Corley (south bound) services with my partner & my mum. I was at KFCwith three staff busy chit-chatting amongst themselves & not even one bothered to ask if I need anything. Only after I asked them if they are still open did they bother to ask if I need anything. I ordered for two zinger wraps & was told that there is only one zinger & one normal for which I agreed & placed my order. On receiving my order I saw they gave me two burgers instead of a wrap which I politely denied as I had ordered for a wrap. After few minutes I got my wrap but it was served super cold. When I told them that it is not warm, the staff told me that I had ordered for a burger instead of a wrap as it says so on the receipt & they can’t warm it as it was their closing time!! After speaking to the manager there, I returned the food & was given a refund. I am amazed that firstly youtake down a completely wrong order & don't bother to inform beforehand that it is their closing time & hence food will be served cold & when the customer complains instead of apologizing you pass the blame on customers !So after all this we decided to eat at Corley's Burger king outlet. We ordered for two chicken burgers & one Veg-burger.Now, the Chicken burger was wrongly packed in a veg wrapper. My partner who is a vegetarian hastily opened the wrapper & took a bite as we were starving & only after his first bite he realized & saw it was a chickenburger!! Upon complaining the staff just said, "Oh sorry they must have messed up as it is our closing time." Seriously!!!! is this how you treat your customers!! So much of recklessness! My partner had a severe stomach ache after that. I will for sure taking this up to the respective brands but the Corley management should take this up seriously. If you don't want to serve your customers around closing time then don't. But stop ridiculing them like this..very much disappointed..

Parked up as I'm writing this in the HGV park. Outside all I can hear is refrigerated trailers. It sounds like I'm sleeping with a tumble dryer in my truck. Not enough is done to cut this out, a little sign in the toilets isn't enough as half the blokes who park here can't understand it anyway. More needs to be done to cut this out. I stop here regularly due to work and it's always the same, every driver at my company who nights out here says the same happens every night of the week. If I could avoid stopping here I would do purely because of this.
I know of other service stations in the Midlands that have cut this out almost completely. This is the worst services for it.

Eastbound disabled toilets are now much better but westbound are disgusting. Disabled adults are considered babies and have to share the their one and only toilet with them. Today filthy, smelly with wet seat and dirty nappies not in bin provided. When will they get their act together this is discrimination of the worst kind. After a 15 minute wait to find the toilet virtually unusable is just not on. Will certainly not stop there again until they're sorted out.
Roger Stapenhill, Sun 24 May 2015
Visited Harry ramsdens today was served by dawn, absolutely disgusting attitude, and practically threw food at us when we said she had got our order wrong , also barking orders at two male members of staff , I actually felt embarrassed for them , this woman clearly has no people skills & no manners , I will definitely not be returning here again

Stopped at corley southbound 02 01 2015 very cold in seating area. Food not fresh or hot. Just a shrug of shoulders when I complained. Never going back.

last night 2/12/14 at 6.15pm myself my friend and my 6 year old son stopped outside heh waitrose front on teh southbound side to go to teh toilet we weer litereally gone no longer than 4 minutes and our car was robbed of my phone and my sons ipad - unfortunately my friend failed to lock the car door.i did notice 2 men hanging around the bins directly outside but when your son needs the toilet you dont think to think and just rush in.
be very wary as they were obviuoisly targeting folks like us.

I visited Corley Services today, while sitting in my car eating my lunch a man banged on the car window, he gave me his driving licence and explained he had run out of petrol and was heading for Milton Keynes (strange he should be heading to the same place as me). He didn't want money (was unsure what he wanted but was quite nervous as I had thoughtlessly opened my car door to speak to him (stupid woman). Anyway nothing untoward happened, he may well have been genuine. I gave him a fiver, which is all the money I had on me just to get rid of him. He legged it off in the direction of the petrol station. Is there a scam going on here?

Travelling westward we followed the signs for caravans on 22nd September. We could see no markings on the ground so we parked by two other caravans. Had just started our lunch when a wagon came up behind us hooting wildly. A man told us we were in the space for traffic to pass. We could see no markings. This man told us where we could park. There are supposed to be white arrows on the ground but they are too worn to see. The man we spoke to said it is always happening. He is a regular.

Brent wilkinson, Sun 7 Sep 2014
Stopped here on my way home to grab a quick coffee. 4:50am no serving staff to be seen, one cleaner vacuuming the matts by the doors watching me get more frustrated at the lack of service and after a few shouts through to the back kitchen area I gave up! Won't stop here again!
Dave, Wed 13 Aug 2014
There was a guy in a green Peugoet 206 KF02 JUE scamming for money cos he has "run out of petrol" at these services cos of a fault with his car and he hasn't any cash, he used to do it at Frankley services but got banned from there.

No attempt to clear the overflowing bins during a two hour observation.Public areas becoming strewn with litter as they had nowhere to put their rubbish, even though I complained to an employee. Disgusting.

Carpark is a terrible place for scammers and con merchants. Only stopped there three times, twice approached for money, once because they alleged car had run out of petrol and this week by two Italians trying to get money for cheap watches, believe from reports this is certainly not the first time at Corley.

been using corley services for 7 years i have 5 cars using this service area while waiting for planes from bhx at least 4 days a week after getting a invoice from parking eye trying to rip me off i have asked my drivers to use service station at Bhx so corley services have lost our business until this dam ticket is forgotten
Gary Moores, Mon 31 Mar 2014
i visited this services on saturday 16th of november around 5pm. this initial smell in the building as of stale urine, the toilets were almost un visitable due to the stench.i ordered a Large Whopper.around 8-10pm i then became severely ill with vomiting an diahorrea. The overall hygiene of the entire complex was appalling , I saw table staff using cloths that were being used to clean tables being used to wipe operatives hans on AFTER they had been dealing with the rubbish. It was clearly apparent that there was a distinct lack of knowledge around personal and customer hygiene.I can assure Welcome Break (of which this was not), that I will no longer visit your services, and urge Welcome Break to seriously asses the competency of the staff that work at the franchises which are contained within your unit as it is you name that these people are blackening.

Me and my family visited Corley yesterday morning 14/09/2013, my partner and I both had a breakfast and kids had the 2.99 bag in the restaurant, at about6.30 last night both me and my partner started feeling ill and within an hour we were both being sick and needing the toilet I would be intrigued if there were any other people who suffered as well last night, still feeling bad this morning after a sleepless night.
Andy lamont, Sun 15 Sep 2013
If you are disabled, I suggest you keep driving. Only one disabled toilet on both north bound and south bound and both double as baby change. Five disabled people were queueing and a father with a young baby was getting irate with them because they wanted the toilet before allowing him to change the baby. Most unsatisfactory. Why do the coaches still want to put their passengers through this discomfort?
Bob, Thu 15 Aug 2013
Corley services southbound is fast becoming the unnoficial junction 3a. I use the services most days on my southbound journey and am getting fed up of being cut up my motorists cutting through the staff access entry point to get onto the Motorway. You need to put a number plate recognition barrier here before a serious accident occurs, you would not believe the number of people using this 'short cut'.
Jools, Thu 1 Aug 2013
My husband and myself stopped at Corley Services Southbound on Saturday afternoon 15 June 2013 at about 1630 hrs to visit the Waitrose shop and to stretch our legs. I have to say I was disgusted with the state of the exterior of the building and the car park. All of the bins were overflowing and rubbish was piled up alongside the bins. It was quite breezy at the time and the rubbish was blowing all over the place. It was very unhygienic and was asking for vermin to come to the area, there was food and food packaging everywhere. Had it been a hot summers day the whole area would have been very smelly and unhealthy. Not good enough, especially as people stop to buy food and have nowhere to throw away the left overs. Zero out of ten for cleanliness.
SUE HARPER, Mon 17 Jun 2013
If you value custom it would be advisable to answer the phone. I myself phoned four times pressed four different choices and after three rings got an automatic hang up on each call. Not only did it waste my time it also cost me money on my phone bill, if I had got an answer it wouldn't have mattered but as I didn't it does. Thank you .
Karen Morgan, Thu 23 May 2013
It's a shame that this service area treats the disabled as second class citizens. Only one toilet for the disabled on the northbound area and that is also a baby change unit. My wife had to wait over half an hour just to use it on Sunday afternoon 12th May and guess what? The hand drier didn't work.
We have complained directly to managers on a previous journey about the lack of functionality but it is obviously not their criteria, being a free service.
Roger, Tue 14 May 2013
My boyfriend and I stopped at Corley Services to get a bite to eat and silly me, I left my iphone in one of the cubicles in the female toilet. I did not realise that I've left it behind until we were almost home in London! Panic, I started calling Vodafone to bar all outgoing calls and data. We went online to search for a contact number so that I can get in touch with someone to have my iphone returned to me. My boyfriend managed to get in touch with a representative, Jackie in Corley and she wasted no time in posting it back to me. I am very happy with her service and efficiency. It's good to know there are still honest and genuine people around!

The showers on the north bound side are dirty and don't look like they have been cleaned for weeks when I mentioned this in the sho they said they are short staffed sorry but this is not good enough regards Steve heathcote

I have just received a parking charge notice from Parking Eye demanding £100 (or £60 if paid within 28 days) for parking at Corley South last Wednesday for 2hrs and 34 mins.
I can't say that the parking notices and time restrictions were particularly clear when I left my car. There is a lot of building work going on in front of the services at the moment so not sure if this had an adverse affect on the signage?
That said, a restriction of 2hrs parking at the services is ridiculous. I stopped off for a snack on my way home to Cambridge. I was in Starbucks for most of the time.
I'm very disappointed that a service station that already charges prices above the standard you would pay in the high street for refreshments feels the need to manage their parking in this way. Is there any sort of justification for the 2 hr restriction?

Hi there,Very BAD experience stopped at services, Mother was ill she is a diabetic Patient her sugar levels had dropped she was light headed. So we had to wait until she felt better. Not realising the time, we were there for 2 hours and 33 minutes.Week later had a Parking Fine come through the post £90.00 if paid within 13 days then you pay £60.00. For being parked 33 minutes over.We were so shocked wrote a appeal letter with all relivent evidence of my mother's state and prove from the NHS services about her being diabetic.Car park management (Parking Eye) state we cannot do anything regarding this matter, as stipulated by the landlord of the site. Please can any body advise what should we do.Thanks

Beware Beware Beware
I saw a team of asian men in the main car with phones posing by cars that they were on mobile, four in all. As cars park up, they wait until you go into the Services another is in a van they appear to be constantly on the phone, I would assume communicating with each other. I witnessed them trying several car doors after they had parked up. Daylight robbery it could be! CORLEY SERVICES CHECK YOUR SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS> I reported it to a shop manager who was on the case and heard nothing else.

A reason to take sandwiches!!!!! I called in to south bound “eat in†on Sunday 1/7/12 and decided to have a big breakfast, the experience almost turned me vegetarian…. I was served 2 x bacon, 3 x sausage 1 x fried egg, 2 x half tomato and 4 x button mushrooms 1 x hash brown and a tea spoon of (Heinz) beans plus 2 x toast( £0.25p extra)… I was then asked if I would like either black pudding, potatoes or fried bread (all at extra cost of £0.99 each) the bacon could have been use to sole shoes when I put my fork in it shattered almost inflicting shrapnel lacerations to myself and a person sitting three tables away, the sausage would not have looked out of place at a children’s party the only thing that was missing was a cocktail stick, mushrooms had been standing in oil that long they had gone slimy in the middle, I would also question the originality of the beans and they have the nerve to charge £7.99 for this!!!….. but on the plus side hash brown was nice and the tables were clean (and looked more appetising than the food).

I visited the services today, I found the toilets clean, the staff I interacted with were helpful & polite, although the prices in the shop are higher than your local supermarket, they aren't to bad.On the whole not a bad service station. I travel 60,000 miles a year so see from the best to the worst and as I said this one is not as bad as some of the comments made, I will say my comments are based on my experience on the Southbound side.
Nick, Sat 28 Apr 2012
DISGUSTING!!! The toilets are nothing short of horrific. Next time I will soil my pants and just stay on the road. It is clearly more hygenic than visiting this service station. Honestly, I've been to glastonbury and they have nothing on Corley Services. Staff need a lesson in personal hygiene as well. All in all, I certainly won't be using it again. I'd rather starve in poo filled pants.
David sheppard, Wed 18 Apr 2012
Comments apply to Eeastbound only.I came in early evening. The entry slip road from the motorway was dangerously short and the road boundary markings extremely faded, making the approach dangerous at night and/or in poor visibility - these factors alone would stop me recommending this site. The retail area was clean and tidy. Food is expensive - even more than you would expect at service areas. Burger King & KFC, clean, and polite service, though a bit understaffed for the time of day.Sweets / snacks / drinks etc at W H Smiths are eye wateringly pricey. Beware the Pick & Mix is not price marked, I was greedy and took a chance and got stung - expect to pay around 3X supermarket price. 4pt milk only had a 20 % markup over supermarket, so surprisingly good value.Dedicated baby care seating area with microwave for bottles - thoughtful.Cashpoint charge was £1.95 - avoid. Didn't use the toilets so can't comment on these.Didn't refuel here and didn't notice prices so can't comment on these.

Well stopeed at Corley services and was very impressed with the Waitrose that they have there. It's nice to see that they had the stock in that I wanted, I can asure you most of the WB Waitrose don't know how to stock they shelves but this one has it down to a T!!!!
Great staff, plesant to talk too and much better service than M&S Moto, definately worth the stop.

BRU, Wed 3 Nov 2010
Corley (North) must be the worst service area in the country, the parking facilities are terrible, the shops and service terrible and to top it off you are spied on by Big Brother in the guise of "ParkingEye" who send you a ticket if you are parked for 5 minutes over the stupid two free parking that you get in this country.I am not suprised at the amount of accidents involving trucks on motorways in this country, truck drivers are not allowed to take their extended breaks due to the greedy service area operators, The UK is the only country that charges for extended parking, in the rest of Europe it is free because of the safety aspect, but what are a few wasted lives compared with profit? What will you do when the laws are changed and there is no driving allowed by trucks on Sunday, you will not be able to charge then?
srhammick, Tue 5 Oct 2010
Lets hope the movers and shakers at WB do something about the service people are encountering. Vote with your feet and go elsewhere.Motorway services hav'nt got a captive market as before and the Asdas and tescos supermarkets etc are just off junctions nowadays (use your sat navs) they offer a cheaper alternative although not open 24 hours.
Anonymous, Mon 20 Sep 2010
As i know the movers and shakers at WB read this site, then this is how it was for me.Arrived, BK for me, two kids messing about behind the counter, seemed more interested in each other. No UPSELL, or suggestive selling as they are trained to do.Felt like shouting the words GAPBUSTERS, but that would give me away!Toilets, well for want of a better word, DISGUSTING!Why does WHS have a broken down ice cream freezer in full view of the public.Guess what people, folks still buy ice cream in winter...
I could go on, but it's getting late..
In short Corley is held up there in the WB world, in this case it was well below par, it would seem there is serious work to be done!

A Saturday night, just driven from Holyhead after 3hr ferry journey from Dublin, our first stop on way to the south.Lights advertised KFC and Burger King, we were all really hungry No KFC...no Burger King, just overdone micro food..crap. Why advertise food that is not there? Driver HAD to eat(didn't enjoy it)), the rest of us sat there without eating whilst watching people turn up and leave...very disappointing.
Fiona, Fri 3 Sep 2010
i left my mobile phone at the Southbound services. The staff looked after it, rang the last number I had called and left a message with my firend, I then called the services back and they posted my phone back to me within 24 hours. Incredible service. I am really chuffed.

I always avoid Corley services whenever possible because they are a rip-off.Starbucks sucks so does the lousy overpriced food & service.
Susan, Sun 15 Aug 2010
8/10 I always stop at this services because it has Starbucks coffee, good coffee can never be missed!!!
Kat, Thu 12 Aug 2010
I stopped off for a cooked breakfast at the services (South Bound). the only till operator was also making coffee. Consequently by the time I had paid for my meal and my coffee was made my meal was cold. Services should start to consider the customer first rather than cutting costs!!
david sparkes, Fri 23 Apr 2010
1/10 Overall. With the exception of Starbucks which is the same as elsewhere, the price of food & drink at Corley services is scandalous & of very poor quality.£10 for a half cold cup of tea,two greasy sausages, egg & sloppy beans. An absolute rip-off.
Rosina, Tue 19 Jan 2010
9/10 overall. starbucks cofee is priced the same as all it's other stores and it's great to have a good cofee at a s station.toilets ok had a good poo with no complaints.
Suba, Mon 4 Jan 2010
You hear many bad things about this site and yep its a bit over priced, but i was pleasantly supprised to see that they are building a Waitrose store, finally things must be on a up, if they are putting this brand in there
Simon, Thu 15 Oct 2009
Northbound toilets have a certificate saying they were awarded 5 stars by The Good Loos guide or some such.
Beats me what you'd have to do to get one star as the place is always smelly and the hand driers don't really have their heart in it.
Ken Grayling, Sun 11 Oct 2009
God Bless these services!I dropped in there on the way to Manchester and left my brand new, very expensive mobile phone behind. One of the staff found it and went through the phonebook, calling people to track me down.
OK, the food etc may be a rip off but the staff there get 10/10 from me!
Rob, Fri 2 Oct 2009
There is nothing remotely impressive about Corley services. Its an absolute rip-off.Crap food, overpriced, and lousy service.Toilets are a disgrace. This place should be condemned.Dont be fooled by anybody who tells you otherwise. They probably work there.Avoid unless you are desperate.

Linda Cooke, Fri 28 Aug 2009
Corley services is a rip-off.£20 for two rotten half cold fry ups & tea for two.Daylight robbery.
Linda, Wed 19 Aug 2009
There is no parking for caravans on the west bound services and the signs for cars are so poor that I saw many cars being driven the wrong way down one way roads. There is a need to sort out the parking signs.
C White, Fri 14 Aug 2009
I have visited this service station many times and the staff seem to be friendly and helpful, however on the 9th April, the lady serving at the petrol counter was rude and had an attitude problem. I was trying to pay for diesel, but didn't know I was at the wrong till, her attitude towards me was rude. The other lady serving was very helpful and took the palyment without problem. The services themselves are lovely, it's just this member of staff in the petrol station.
Emma Gosling, Thu 9 Apr 2009
Corley services have great facilities.Nice clean toilets, lovely cafes,& great food & drink on offer to the weary traveller. And great value for money too.If you believe that then you will be in for a very nasty surprise.Avoid this place unless you are desperate. What a rip-off.
Lisa, Thu 5 Feb 2009
The Primo Coffee INSIDE this service area has a poor assistant. She served people who only wished to pay for a hot meal because there was NO CASHIER ON THE TWO MAIN TILLS (this was 7.45 pm on Sunday 28th September!
It was only after asking her why she had kept us waiting endlessly when we were there 1st that she was persuaded to serve us.
I shall write to Primo HQ as the Late was virtually COLD, she didn't even give me a wooden stirer and had to be asked to do so.
Marks out of 10 - 4. Pathetic. Come back Cafe Nero you are the best and always have been. Even Starbucks would have bettered this. Why don't they train the staff at Cafe Primo properly.
Wouldn't visit this outlet again if I was dying of thirst!
Mrs Cooper, Sun 28 Sep 2008
Toilets were very clean and tidy, the shop had some great offers, although the food in the main section was very expensive, however I got around this by buying a kids meal box - you get a capri sun drink and then choose 4 of the following items - a sandwich, penguin, crisps, box of raisins, a babybel or a yoghurt. The sandwich is only plain ham or cheese, but is the same size as the ones priced around £4 in the normal section.
liz, Sun 21 Sep 2008
There is nothing remotely fantastic about Corley services. The services are exactly what you might come to expect from these establishments.Overpriced lousy food,& indifferent staff.Visit Starbucks if you must. They are the biggest rip-off.Avoid unless desperate.
Geoff P, Thu 18 Sep 2008
Yes indeed,Corley services is fantastic. The sky high prices, the crap food, being ripped off, filthy toilets,& indifferent staff.Fantastic?Don't believe a word of it.Some idiots are easily pleased..
Pauline, Mon 15 Sep 2008
Its a fantastic services, only with a starbucks in the uk, staff are friendly, cannot fault it all, stopped there a lot this year
Helen Bradley, Thu 11 Sep 2008
The previous reviewer must be living on another planet.Corley services is undeniably an absolute rip-off.Pity the recent improvements have not included their appalling facilities & negative approach to customer service.Least of all the scandalous prices. How can one justify charging £8 for a greasy lukewarm fry up,£6 for a measly pre-packed ham salad,or £4 for a sarnie.Starbucks is a rip- off.Corley services gives a whole new meaning to highway robbery.Get a reality check. This place needs to be condemned.

i am a regular user of teh M^ and M6 toll. i find this to be teh best services in the midlands, theres been big improvmenst recent months not the least a great hotel on north bound side, liek teh factyou have a choice of BK or KFC both of which are the same prices as teh high street so i dont see this as rip off as its the same product and prce you would pay in New Street Birmingham. Starbucks is great coffee.

I always make a point of avoiding Corley services.Starbucks is a rip off.£10 for a measly plate of half cold slop & a cup of coffee is about right.Trading standards ought to pay a visit to this dump.

I always make a point of stopping at these services for the starbucks (even when I'm going the other way). It is normally a high point of my journey! I wish there were more services with a starbucks in.

Had the pleasure of visiting this joke of a service station recently.Cost me £10 for a plate of sloppy half cold beans, sausages, hash brown & a cup of tea.More fool me.The person who said Corley services is NOT overpriced either must be an idiot or probably works there. This is rip-off Britain at its very worst. The environmental health should close this place down for good.

Stopped for a break here at 2am 27/6/08 words fail me, the whole site is an appalling disgrace. Filty, stinking toilets, staff with a novel approach to customer service, limited catering facilities and very expensive too.
The whole place felt & looked in need of a good clean, why the local Environmental Health Officials haven't closed this place down I don't know as it is not fit for purpose.

£20 to stay overnight on a piece of dirty tarmac. What a rip off.

Corley services is an absolute rip-off.Love it or loathe it,i can confirm that Corley services is as expensive as it is unpleasant.Had to stop en-route from Essex to N.Wales for some petrol & to use the toilets which were in the usual filthy state.Cost one customer £16 for two measly pre-packed ham salads, coke,& crisps.NOT overpriced?Good value for money?Don't believe it.Dick Turpin really does live on at Corley services.Probably even works there?Pity Corley services can't be more like the French.Visit if you must. But beware.

Always found these services easy to get around both north and southbound and it has everything you will need on a long journey.

Corley Services is the best thing i have ever experienced. It brings me so much joy to visit and realise why I live nearby. It has everything a service station should have, is NOT overpriced, and in a perfectly good condition. You should all feel ashamed, as you are hurting the feelings of everyone that knows and loves Corley Services. I pity you.

Corley services represents everything that is bad about rip-off Britain today.Bland overpriced food, lousy service,& ripping off customers big time.Cost nearly £20 for a greasy half cold fry up & a pot of tea for two. This is highway robbery.Dick Turpin lives on at Corley services.Best avoided.

OK services, typical big site with the average food you expect from mass catering outlets.
Watch vehicle security - The car parks are very poorly lit (almost non-existent in some areas) + no CCTV and they have a big problem with thieves from the surrounding towns targeting the area.
Jim Andrews, Fri 3 Aug 2007
Very Expensive!!! £2 for a cup of coffee!!!!! why do dservices have to rip you off?
Adrian Gardiner, Sat 28 Jul 2007
Just drove past and they now have a sign just before the sliproad saying they have Starbucks. Have Starbucks bought out Coffee Primo? And which other service stations have Starbucks?
