Called here for breakfast was served by a very nice lady called Carol. Nothing was too much trouble. Really enjoyed my breakfast and coffee will be calling again next time I pass by.

Just used the disabled toilet, it was disgusting. Filthy, the floor was soaking wet with urine, there was a build up of brown ginger at the edges and corners of the floor. It was just all over dirty. While I was in my husband saw the cleaner stop outside and clicked a button on a hand device to reset the timer for inspection. He was probably doing this all day. Someone needs to do a surprise inspection of these facilities.

On way back from a lovely holiday abroad. Stopped for breakfast at ernies and my holiday happiness ended right there. No bacon or tomatoes on in stock, so had to have extra sausages which were the only good thing about this place. 7.99 for a breakfast which had sausage, cold beans 2 bricks, erm I mean fried bread, charcoalled eggs and that's the lot! Ended up eating only the sausages. Very disappointing and I will certainly not go back there. Overall very very unhappy

I'm a regular visitor to this website as I see a lot of the motor way network in my work and like to use the best locations for stops, there's a few comments on here that are so far from the truth. The place is clean tidy and pleasant to fist. Used the loos and costa coffee and thought they were great. I even got a costa coffee card as they asked so nicely, free coffe e here I come

Stopped off her on Wednesday last week due to heavy snow, on arriving at the service station the area was covered in snow with employees gritting and shoveling which I thanked them for as I'm sure they'd rather of been in side in the warm. On entering the building it was bright and welcoming especially after being stuck on the m62. Costa was great as usually and a Gregg's sandwich made my day.

Who on earth thought that charging 8p per litre more than than the next BP fuel services down the A1 and some 13p more than my local petrol prices, is a good business plan? Can the management not understand that, at these prices, customers will do as I did, buy a little to ensure that they can safely get to the next fuel stop and no more? Would I stop off for petrol here again? No chance. Judging by the numbers getting petrol here and at later fuel stops I'm not alone.

I have visited here twice and if there is ever a third time it will be kicking and screaming and chained to several non-domesticated equines. I'd forgotten what a desert the A1(M) is for hungry and weary travellers, and apart from filling stations and, bizarrely, an adult store(?!), there isn't a great choice so I was happy to see the word 'Services' on the destination sign. Alas, my happiness was about to be rudely shattered. At the hardly uncivilised hour of 8pm my choices were limited to Costa or Burger King. There was an Ernie's fish-and-chippery but it was unmanned like the Mary Celeste, and there was an M&S but I wanted something hot. Costa's panini selection was unappealing so BK it had to be, short of gnawing off one of my own legs, which on reflection would have been the better option. After a ten minute wait my burger was finally produced. I located one of the few tables, all unwashed, in the vast emptiness of the shed-like seating area, ate the horrible thing, scraping off as much of the congealed "cheese" as I could, and left to refuel the car. Noting that the price of diesel was at least 10p per litre more expensive than anywhere else, I put in the minimum required to get me home and bade farewell to Ferrybridge, never again to return. On the plus side, I have finally been put off Burger King's products forever.

Could you please be advised Today 17th October 2014, I had the misfortune of slipping on the wet floor in your ladies toilets, there were no hazard signs and the floor was very wet through persons shaking water onto the floor after washing their hands.
I was taken care of by the public until two first raiders were brought to me, I was very badly shaken and could not and in deed dare not get up, the first raiders took my name address and telephone number as I was on my way to Leeds Bradford airport, they assisted me to my waiting taxi and they were informed by myself that my wrist was very sore and my leg was painting me very much.I then went on my way to catch my flight to Malaga, my flight became very uncomfortable and my wrist then began swelling and turning black, I have landed in Malaga and I am at my accommodation, were I enquired about the hospital as I know I need treatment, I will have to continue with painkillers for tonight as I can not get to a hospital until tomorrow,were I believe I will be created.I am informing you of my injuries and will be in touch tomorrow 18th October.

Strongly suspect that the Burger King needs to be checked out by public health? I've been poohing through the eye of a needle since I at one of their whoppers. The only thing it gives you that is a whopper is sat in the bottom of my toilet!!!!

This has to be the most drab, unappealing service area on the entire motorway network. Called there on Saturday 2nd August on our way to Hull, aware that this is the last service area on the M62 Eastbound. Many years ago this place used to be a Granada establishment. At the time, though a little pricey, there was usually a good selection of food and pleasant surroundings in which to eat it. Now, it's disgusting: the food options seem to be (1) Burger King (unwisely, we opted for this - to be served a 'Breakfast Special' - a rubber burger that had been sitting in the counter overnight, by the state of it, with a slice of cold cheese slapped on it, and a paper bag half full of something they jokingly referred to as hash browns. The coffee had been stewing for hours - bitter and lukewarm. The 'service' seemed to be defensive: you gained the impression that the staff were so used to complaints that doing so would meet with utter indifference.(2) 'Ernies' was the other option - which seemed to be a trucker's take away/greasy spoon, and looked little more inviting. The seats were so uncomfortable as to have been deliberately designed to discourage any traveller from staying too long. Wasted effort really - the food accomplishes that perfectly. The Gents' toilets were filthy - and my wife said the flush handle in the Ladies was hanging off the wall - they were equally filthy.
The whole site needs bulldozing - then let it to a company who are fit to run it; this shower certainly aren't.

Having called at these services a couple of times I would like to comment on the lack of parking spaces for caravans. Always full,and then the only alternative is to park in the coach area, which then my incur a parking penalty. When will motorway services stop treating people with caravans as second class. We spend money at services too.

Stopped there and paid for the parking which came with a Food Voucher for Ã‚Â£9.Went to use the Voucher to pay for a Take Away meal at the main services. They can`t do Take Away because they don't have anything to take it away with. No trays.Decided to go to Burger King and for the Ã‚Â£9 you can`t use the Ã‚Â£9 to buy an Ã‚Â£8.99 meal. You can only buy a meal that comes to Ã‚Â£7.49 and you don't get change for the Ã‚Â£9 voucher price.This must be illegal as it must be fraudulent to not allow to visitors to use the Ã‚Â£9 Voucher for it`s true cost. They will get their Ã‚Â£9 from MOTO so they are gaining Very disappointed in both the Restaurant and Burger King.Also how can they justify the price of a sandwich at over Ã‚Â£4..

As a truck driver call a quite a few moto services i like this one wehtherby and lancaster. staff are all friendly yes they are more expensive than the high street but they get a lot more abuse from people like us. A lot of the general public have no respect they just dump there rubbish anywhere make a mess and just walk away and leave it these people just clear up after us. Ferrbridge staff are friendly and helpful.

Came here with a couple of friends to meet several other people who were travelling from various parts of the country and would be arriving at varying times during the evening. We arrived a little before 7 pm and others joined us at intervals, spent a little time chatting and eating, then went on their way. One couple arrived around 7.30 pm and stayed for some time, joining in the meetings. We and this second couple left at 11.38 pm. I can be accurate about this because a timed photograph was sent to me with a spurious demand from CP Plus for a 'parking charge'. Apparently, we had exceeded the 2-hour limit on free parking apparently mentioned on well-hidden and unenforceable notices somewhere on site. The notices were not visible when we parked the car on that dark, wet evening. Any 'excess parking charges' are predicated on the idea that taking up a parking space for more than two hours deprives the service area of the opportunity for reasonable profit, but we spent over Ã‚Â£70 while we ere there, and others spent money, too, on a night when there were many empty parking spaces available at all times, according to people arriving to meet us. We'll see you in court, CP Plus, and we'll claim our costs against you when your case is thrown out.
Good services, Moto, but a poor choice of parking supervision method.

i tried a pound in the slot machine whilst waiting for friends. won Ã‚Â£30 however machine would not let me collect it. i spoke to a member of staff who took my name and address but informed me the machines were not the responsibility of the service station. I am still waiting for my winnings. what a rip off.

The most disgusting services I visited on 11 month old son managed to get his head stuck in the railings of the childrens area which is just a scrap of the canteen with missing railings and drawing equipment, filthy spongey floors and a telly showing cartoons. Having visited Tebay Northbound on the way up North which has a dedicated children's soft play area, which the kids loved, it can hardly cost more than the rip off profit made from a few litres of fuel to sort this out. We were disgusted and vowed never to visit again.

we stopped at this service station today and made the very big mistake of opting for a so called hot meal instead of visiting Greggs or marks and spencers. we foolishly chose fish and chips from the food kiosk alongside costa coffee what a mistake that was the chips were barely warm and whilst the fish was warmer and looked delicious we found that due to the time they had sat in their heated tray the actual fish was dry and tasteless. Yes i should have complained but i formed the opinion that my complaints would just fall on deaf ears for on looking around most customers were just ordering coffee to eat with sandwiches bought from either greggs or Marks and spencers and no one seemed to be buying the hot food on offer, once bitten twice shy is the old saying hence i will never buy hot food from this service station again.

We had a pleasant stop at this service station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The toilets were clean. The carpark was well signed for walking area. There were good choice of restaurants including greggs which was high street priced. It was good to see cotton traders shop there .

Disappointed. Toilets awful, cold water to wash hands, baby changing very small and dirty, childrens area dirty and bare, and most disgusting of all we bought a cup of tea specifically because we wanted to get a cup of hot water also to warm baby food. Was told by a miserable and rude costa worker that they weren't allowed to give us hot water for this purpose. What?! We were told we had to microwave it. The container we had was not microwavable... So poor baby ate barely any of his dinner. I have never encountered anywhere that refused to give me a cup of water for baby. Absolutely disgusted.

Called at Ferrybridge and what a difference!!!! The services are looking fresh and well cared for. Tried the new Ernie's counter and was very surprised how good the food was and the price. Travelling as a family of 4 and getting 4 meals, drinks and change from Ã‚Â£25!!!!!! Friendly helpful staff who actually looked like they enjoyed serving us.Well done Moto would recommend.

Called in Ferrybridge they have a new counter called Ernies not sure about the name but the whole idea was great. the food was cooked fresh and was a good price Ã‚Â£4.99 and only 49p for peas. These are great prices which might win you back some of the customers which dont call any more due to high prices. Put this in all your service areas you cant go wrong. The staff were friendly and the food good. Make these stops worth making moto.

As a trucker i use service stations a lot. I would reccomend Ferrybridge to anyone the staff are always freindly as well as the managers. Even the general manager chats to the customers. Always made to feel welcome which is not always the case for truckers.

Called in ferry bridge today on route to Scotland with my wife. A great deal of repairs were taking place, however our experience in Costa was very positive. Both staff members Reece and Clare were extremely polite and pleasant. Would defiantly call again.

My wife wrote some comments about Lancaster services which were all good so thought i would join in today. I have been to a meeting on the A1 and on my way called in at Ferrybridge services for a coffee.(after my positive visit to Lancaster. I have to say i was not dissapointed. The service here was equally good and the coffee great. They are having some building work done but this did not affect the experience. Friendly staff and good coffee what more could you ask for.

My toddler and I stopped at Ferrybridge services as a half way mark to meet up with family for an hour and a coffee. I ordered 2 hot chocolates, 2 coffee's, 2 choc muffins, a carmel shortbread slice and a biscuit. Basically 4 hot drinks and 4 small snacks. Hot drinks were in a paper cup from a machine. Ã‚Â£21.70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worse than the airports!!!!! Will never ever stop here again and we used it as a regular stop place. It was also cold and grotty inside. Disgusting. 1st Jan 2013.

What a disappointment. We've used this service area over the years and it hasn't been bad as service areas go. After a gap of a few years our recent visit found the place cold, bleak,and dirty. Getting into the car parking area was a task in itself, so poor was the signage. In future we'll stick with Wetherby.

My children and I stayed in the travel lodge, was very tired after driving some distance. The next morning felt refreshed to drive home, Nothing on my car.2 weeks later I received a notice off a huge sum of Ã‚Â£90.00 To. Pay because I was parked outside th hotel over night. I can not afford this, and the hotel did not advise me I needed to buy a parking ticket. This is DISGUSTING.

Visited the services with my disabled wife approx 2 weeks ago and was not impressed as to how the place has fallen behind. Even though the staff were good and prices for meals not too bad the place really needs taking in hand by another operator (or Moto need to spend some serious money on it). Uneven floor, damaged tables, poor toilets Ã¢Â€Â“ you name it.
I remember, not too long ago, when this was opened and it used to be one of the better MSAÃ¢Â€Â™s. That can hardly be said now. Wetherby services seem a much better proposition if on the A1M.

I was returning from halifax towing a horse in a trailer behind my car. a new volvo. I was low on deisel, but not on reserve, infact ,the car showed 20 miles left, so i pulled into ferrybridge services and bought Ã‚Â£10.62 to get me home. However, as I drove back onto the motorway I noticed everything had flatlined, no fuel, no miles left, it was terrifying and dangerous. managed to get to thorne sercices and put Ã‚Â£10 of deisel which put the guage up this time and the miles to 95. please return my Ã‚Â£10.62

Returning to the UK after living in the USA for years I am discusted at now they are even limiting parking times at motorway services and charging by the way of fines. I could not belive it! Bloody robbers. In the USA you can spend all day and even sleep overnight in the service areas. What a dump this country has become.Me, I've had enough of the UK, rip off Britain, tax tax and stealth tax. I'm leaving soon, and will never come back.

I'd never EVER park here again. I parked at 7.30 on Monday morning and paid for my parking by the automated phone system. I even phoned it back to check that it had been registered as I'd heard that this services has a reputation for sending people parking fines. Everything seemed fine to have registered and I picked my car back up againt the same day at 3.30pm. I had a text message the following morning to say that my parking was about to expire and if I was still parked there that I needed to renew it. I checked my bank account and the parking fee of Ã‚Â£8.30 was taken out 2 days later, so I am very annoyed to have received a parking fine from them today! I can't believe it. Why should I have to spend my time getting together evidence that I paid for my parking? It's an absolute joke. I've parked in various different motorway service stations when i've been meeting up with colleagues and have never had this happen. I can't believe that nothing is done about it when everyone seems to be complaining about it.

A great, mutually convenient location for my work purposes, which i will NEVER use again. The parking notices are NOT noticable, and if i pay quick it will now cost me Ã‚Â£50 to pay a fine that i dont feel i deserve. Thanks. My major complaint is about the parking system, ignoring the other problems within the actual services.
I used the parking once for over the 2 hour period as I was car sharing to Hull, and went through the grueling pay over the phone system that you have to use to pay for my parking.
And got confirmation over the phone that my parking was valid, so you think no more about it!
A week later letter in post from CP Plus demanding money, and right now I am currently going through the proceeds of getting evidence to fight them, but will be difficult as; a) no money was taken out of my bank (or even attempted).b) its hard to prove youve paid parking with just a phone call.
they clearly have a great scam going here and due to little moderation of the private parking sector they are more then likely to get away with it.
My advice to any one is avoid this services at all costs.
it really is abysmal in so many ways, in fact the only good thing is that the bins are regularly emptied and that is always one man!

I recently attended a regional meeting that we chose to have at Ferrybridge Services. We all had lunch and a number of our 12 vehicles fuelled up at the service station there.Due to problems on the M62 some attendees were delayed and due to under staffing and incompetence our food was delayed and given out wrongly.As a result a couple of my company members received a letter off CP, althpough no ticket was left on our cars.We are reluctantly having to pay the fines but I have delivered a notice to all company employees that no receipts for Ferrybridge Services are to be paid,whether for fuel, food or drink.lets hit the services where it hurts as they are doing with us.

I know that Moto have an appeals process for anyone who feels they shouldn't have received a parking notice. If you or someone you know has been a customer or fallen asleep and a parking notice has been issued, log onto the moto web site and get in touch with them. They also have a duty manager available who can deal with any customer concerns or queries before you leave site.

I parked there on 4th February and paid by phone, I got a text receipt and a receipt on their website, but received a parking charge notice for Ã‚Â£80 (Ã‚Â£50 if I pay within 14 days, or Ã‚Â£120 if I don't pay within 28 days). No telephone number is provided so I will have to write to them with proof of receipt of parking. What a rubbish system they have! I certainly won't be using these services again.

I'll never stop at these services again.I picked up my colleague in the morning and dropped them off 4 hours later and I've just received a parking fine of Ã‚Â£80 (Ã‚Â£50 if paid promptly). I work on a moto site and I know that they don't send out parking tickets until you are at least 45 minutes over the 2 hour limit and also that if you send in a receipt for something you bought while you were there they will reduce the fee to a Ã‚Â£10 parking charge plus a Ã‚Â£5 admin fee.

Stopped here with my family on the way back from our annual holiday and didn't expect much because last year it wasn't great, but I have to say that the food was actually really tasty and the offers they had made our meals quite good value for a change. The staff were cheerful and helpful despite being very busy.

I parked at Ferrybridge on 7 july, paid Ã‚Â£8.20 via the mobile phone set up, got a text receipt and email receipt and still got a letter demanding parking charges and admin charges.

I visited Ferrybridge services on the 28th May 2009, I was travelling to Beverley in Hull, later I travelled back home and called back into Ferrybridge services for a coffee.Today I have recieved a PCN accusing me of parking there for five hours.
I am completely disgusted that something like this can happen and will never visit MOTO services again!!!!!!

I had to pull off the Motorway due to a migrain attach. I struggled with blurred vision into a parking bay and rang a friend to come an get me. I too got a ticket. I have tried explaining that I could barely see the road let alone read the signs.. No Excuse they want me to prove I had a headache!!!!No way out, all parking people are in humane. Sick Money making schemes.

Free parking for 2 hours? what a load of rubbish!I drop somebody off every morning there at 7.15, then come back to pick them up at 4.30 pm.This morning got a fine sent me for parking from 7.15 to 4.30 one day.How their wonderful cameras work this out is beyond me.so I ring the number on the fine notice and the guy there is as much use as a chocolate teapot. Tells me to write in.So now I'm wasting time, money and nervous energy sending letters to idiots who can't even make their number plate recognition cameras work properly.
And the place is so awful there's no way I'd stay there all day anyway.

My wife and I like this service area. Even though it's a bit tired looking, the staff seem to be genuinely sweet and kind and always make us feel welcome.

Shame little chef has gone from the services. The staff never seem very happy in their job.Prices are ridiculous in all service stations.

Food uninspiring, heavily soaked in cooking medium. Most foods based around chips-take heed of Little Chef demise. 38p for a serving of vinegar! Staff mostly bored, 4 stood round checkout talking, had to press them to deal with me. Blonde lady with hair in plaits needs a course in cleaning tables-only wiping around 40% of table surface; did not bother wiping under waste receptacle. Shortage of clean cutlery; male member of staff offered plastic ones saying "cutlery being washed".Why can't all hot beverages be in the same place instead of tea at counter whilst coffee and hot chocolate dispensed at machines 10 metres away!

Had one of my HGV vehicles stop in designated HGV parking. He stayed there for 30 minutes today I receive notice from Trethowans solicitors acting on behalf of Moto trying to charge me Ã‚Â£80 for not displaying a valid parking ticket. It clearly states on board first 2 hours is free!!I have not paid it and sent it back to them as a result of this I have banned all my drivers using Moto services stations throughout the country. So that means buying no fuel and no overnight stays I have 25 vehicles which means Moto no longer be getting any of my firms money. I estimate we spent Ã‚Â£100,000 at Moto services but No more!

21st January 2008: All we wanted was a bowl of soup. This was served, and had the consistency of tired wall-paper paste, along with with two rounds of soggy bread, probably made from wall-paper paste.
AN UTTER DISGRACE!
Dispirited staff, a general air of gloom! Give M&S shop some space to offer coffee and an eating area: there is potential here, but above all sack the MOTO Company Directors who are running the place! Purchase a competant Manager!

Nothing has changed in the year since the gentleman's comment of June 2006.I arrived about 10.25pm 9th May 2007 and was confronted by an empty foodcourt in terms of both staff and customers. Waited 5 mins then caught the eye of a staff member through a kitchen door. Another 5 mins and still no one came,so I gave up and made do with a mug of tea from the automatic machine.A young lad who was stacking chairs finally came to the till for me.I paid with a Â£10 note. There was only one other customer in the seating area during all of this. 10 mins later a female member of staff approached my table and confronted me with a Â£10 note, saying it had proved a forgery. Like a fool I reimbursed it whilst hanging on to my anger. Only when I was level with Leeds did I realise that Any Â£10 note could have been brought to me due to the 10 minute gap. I am not saying anything phoney took place, but there was certainly room for doubt, especially as I am now sure my Â£10 came out of a Bank Machine the previous day! The place is doubly damned as it occupies the major junction of the M62 and the AI.If you are ever near this service station make sure you have a flask and a sandwich and STAY IN YOUR CAR!!

I was not impressed at the fact that the shop and all food places had all closed at 9pm. even people coming into the services were saying about the shop being closed. I drive long distance and it really annoys me that when I park up at night I cant even get a bite to eat in some services. When I asked the staff if I could use my food voucher in the little chef. they didnt even know if I could
