Northbound. Stopped here a while back (can't remember date), had a meal at Burger King which was much to my satisfaction, and the toilets appeared to be clean and tidy. What was disappointing however, was the BP petrol station adjacent. Every other petrol station I have filled up at in my life automatically stops the pump when the tank is full, no matter how old or modern the pump is, every single one has been the same. When I filled up at this particular station, I began to get a little suspicious when the pump kept clicking constantly even though my tank was nowhere near its full capacity, leaving me no option but to hold the lever half way in to stop this happening. The result, as you can expect, was me being a bit too ambitious towards the 38-39 litre mark and ending up with a pair of unleaded jeans and shoes. Extremely inconvenient to be breathing petrol fumes all the way back to south wales.

Absolutely amazing services! Despite the fact it is an old building, it's clean, tidy and the staff are amazing. They seem to always have the time to deal with you and always ensure you have a great experience!!

WARNING TO DISABLED PEOPLE USING THESE SERVICES. All toilets including disabled are located the furthest they can be from the disabled prking spaces! The other entrance (by the toilets) has no disabled spaces near to it and has access to the outside sitting area only.Someone somewhere is not doing their job right.

First visit to this services,have travelled all over UK,and I must say this is the worst I've ever been to. So out dated, car park layout dangerous, needs redoing so that larger spaces for cars etc etc, and better exits.so many tired drivers getting irate / impatient trying to park or leave. As for the inside ,why on earth are the toilets upstairs? Not ideal especially for mature people, one gentleman fell up the stair's . The restaurant upstairs was shut down and as per usual my favourite Costa coffee was a complete let down,weak as water as all motor services. Prices are inflated, yet repairs/updates get ignored , I feel for the poor staff, having to work in such a dismal place ,hence I shall be passing this one for the next.

Visit this service station very often, as I always pass it on my way to work. (Northbound). I always buy a paper from WHSmiths and a coffee from Costa, occasionally having food from the EDC if I have time. The staff are an absolute credit to the place, they're bloody brilliant. Numerous times staff have told me they're. on an extended shift because of absence, or they're in on their day off. On a few occasions I have witnessed what I presume to be managers or supervisors reprimanding members of staff in front of the public, which I believe is completely unacceptable. Sometimes they're scolded for having a chat, even when there are no customers and the place is tidy. If you go in at around two/three as I do very rarely, you'll see the managers/supervisors sitting out eating lunch in the EDC. They make staff bring their drinks to them, something that not even customers get! And they also leave their table in a state, for an EDC staff member to tidy up, which is absolutely disgraceful. On the rare occasions that I sit in, it's almost always freezing, and the windows in Costa leak when it rains. I've wrote on the Costa Feedback wall but no noticed taken. I've also asked in store for a complaints/feedback form, and they say it's all done online. I have only been able to find this site and the official moto one, on which I presume the feedback is kept private and sent directly the managers. I hope the managers and supervisors get to read this, and know what they're customers think. Bottom line, you're staff are outstanding, you need to clean up you're act and treat them better.

Dropped in to catch up with a friend in the small hours one night. Realized, too late, that the car park is in the thrall of "Parking Eye", so reluctantly paid the ridiculous Â£11 charge to park slightly longer than a couple of hours (while paying them for food and drink etc. the while). Obtained a receipt, signed by cashier, witnessed by friend. Now I'm getting threatening letters from "Parking Eye" with demands for Â£100.
Judging by the other comments on here, and a bit of googling around, fraudulently - sorry, "accidentally" - issued "parking charges" seem to be pretty frequent from "Parking Eye". "Parking Eye" have, it seems, been found in contempt of court in the past, and their legal claim to their imaginative "fine" is essentially nil; there is no need to pay them a penny, much less Â£100, regardless of whether you paid the Â£11 (indeed paying the Â£11 may put you in a worse position because it implies you accept their terms - perhaps that's why they issue notices to people who have paid?) (Don't believe me? Google is your friend in this.)
I assume Moto aren't as interested in repeat custom as they are in facilitating "Parking Eye" fraud, for whatever reasons. They certainly won't be getting mine, not in any of their "service" stations.

Very sad and tired excuse of a rest area run by arrogant dispationate foreign company who don't care what their customers say or need. This is typical of how licences are sold to the highest bidder only to provide shoddy services, treat employees badly and fine people if they are unfortunate enough to have to stay any longer than 2 hours. This place has no fresh food. The toilets are horrendous and it's called Frankley because Frankley you would be mad to stop here. I would not store carcasses here let alone stop here for food or rest.

My son went to frankley to visit a friend and catch up and was there for over 2 hours but he didn't realise you had to pay so came home.He has just received a Ã‚Â£100 fine for the pleasure. I thought service stations were there for weary motorists to get a cup of tea and get their heads down to make sure they drive safely. With a Ã‚Â£12 charge for 2-24 hours I feel it will be cheaper to sleep at the wheel !! Disgusting and the signs need to be more prominent.. We just don't expect to pay at a service station.

I admit it's a Sunday however it's 5:30 people are still on The roads so to have no food available at this time of night is shocking!! Absolutely disgusting service station, freezing cold and dirty would not expect anyone to stop here unless you have a death wish

Having had a meeting with collegues on the services purchasing 3 meals and 6 drinksI was issued with a charge notice for Ã‚Â£100 for staying and using the servies for over two hours. I was not using it as a car park and never left sight of my vehicle. The offence is recorded at time of entering and time of leaving the services without any notice of committing an offence.If MOTO are prepared to treat their customers in this way I am quite happy to avoid MOTO in the future

I've left some prescription sunglasses in the toilets at south bound frankley services. They are from Specsavers and in a black case. Very important to me and really keen to get them back but I can't get hold of any one there on the phone at the services.
Please advise if anyone can help me. Just hoping they have been left in lost property as they are no use to anyone as they are my prescription

The worst services I've been to. Only one serving in WH Smiths with a massive queue. No cold drinks at costa but only knew once you had queued for 10 mins. Very few staff for a Saturday. Will not be stopping here again.

For locals who would like to visit Burger King, without having to traipse up to Junction 4, then back down to Moto on the North side and then out at Junction 3:https://www.google.co.uk/maps/...
You can access both south and north side local access via Bartley Green. I recommend the north side (just across the bridge) as it's far quieter.
The bollards never seem to be up, and againist local advice they do not activate them under your car!
You will need to go arse-end first through the petrol station opposite to the flow of traffic to get to the car park.
If you don't fancy taking your car into the service area then you can park on the road next to the south side local access. Walk down, buy your food and then walk back.
Easiest option is to drive into the north side local access, park up, get your Burger King and then head back out onto the M5 and leave at Junction 3. This is far quicker than going back out via Bartley Green.
Many, many locals do this daily to get onto the motorway. You would have to be very unlucky to get hit with a parking ticket.

Visited 7th may 2014.Went to Costa and asked for a Americans black.The young lad put milk in it,I said I am allergic to milk and he washed my cup under the tap!i told him i wanted a clean cup and he rolled his eyes at me.I finally got what I wanted and got to the car,took a sip and spilt it all down me as he hadn't put the top on properly.Will go to frankly again but NOT costa.

i was on my way down to north devon from north wales as my dad was taken ill and was in hospital we pulled into frankley services for the nite as kids were tired i went and paid for my motorhome to be parked up for the nite it was Ã‚Â£11 doing this it avoids getting a parking charge but hey NO as i have just had a PARKING CHARGE NOTICE for Ã‚Â£50 if paid in 14 days or Ã‚Â£90 if not i have rang frankley not much they can do so i rang motochargepayment not much they can do just appeal so where did my Ã‚Â£11 go and if i do end up having to pay it will be minus the Ã‚Â£11 and will spead the word to my friends who use frankley to avoid like a bad rash on good side costa coffee

I ordered 2 drinks from Costa Coffee, a medium skinny latte and a medium latte made with soya milk, de caffeinated coffee and sugar free caramel syrup. The first was no problem. With the second drink the barista told me they don't have the sugar free caramel syrup, however another barista intervened and pointed it out to her in the shelf. As for soya milk, although repeating it after I'd ordered it, she made the drink using skimmed cows milk! I'd had trouble understanding her throughout this transaction due to her poor English so by this time I didn't have time to argue so took my drinks and made do.

I just wanted to say how appalled I was at the restaurant service at Frankley. And this is not an isolated case (I tried to avoid this service station on this occasion but forgot which one we had the bad experience at before!). I have two small children so have to break regularly on long journeys. We try to find relatively healthy food and not fast food all the time. We turned up at the services at about 5:30pm and the kids wanted things off the main menu, one wanted sausage with a yorkshire thing, the other wanted something with rice. We were firstly told that there were no yorkshires, which was fine, we would have just had the sausage and the veg. Then we were told that the rice would be 25 mins! There was some excuse about cooking from scratch as this wasn't a peak time. I am sorry, but if 6pm isn't a peak dinner time for people when the hell is?? 25 mins for rice. I could have got a microwave one from the shop and done in 2 mins. It was obvious the girl didn't want to do anything, just fob people off with excuses so they went somewhere esle, which we did. Burger king. Not ideal but at least it was quick, although I will never understand why the prices are so high compared to other fast food outlets. There were only a few people there, maybe not that it wasn't a peak time, more likely a reflection that people know how bad this place is and just don't stop there.
As mentioned, this is the second time this has happened. The people working there obvioulsy don't want to be there and I know plenty of people would love a job. Get some staff that put the customer first.
By the way, the rest of the services, just don;t stop if you want anything other than the toilet, burger king or the shop. I won't make this mistake a third time.

After driving for some time I pulled into the service station Moto Frankley North Bound.I felt tired and needed to rest.It was 00.22 AM.I had a long drive ahead of me so rested in an appropriate parking spot,not hindering anybody or any vehicle. I woke up at 06.13 and carried on my journey to Manchester.I have just received a fixed penalty notice for 90 pounds.According to the letter this is the second one that has been sent and I have 14 days to pay it.I am utterley disgusted and cannot get any response from either the service station or the company involved.As the saying goes Tiredness kills,take a break,well dont take one there.Be warned.

one of my drivers pulled into frankley southbound on 17/5/2013 at 04.22am not feeling well so he phoned me i told him to sit tight till i could get there and drive the truck home my wife took the driver to hospital in worcester not thinking about the parking charge after two hours i left at 07.12am i have recived a parking notice for Ã‚Â£50.00 i tried to phone and explain what had happed that night but no reply so i phoned the company who issued the notice they also did not want to know so i will pay the fine and have told all of my drivers what happend that night they have all said they will draw no fuel/food or spend any time there at all that also means northbound.so i hope the Ã‚Â£50 is put to good use as they have lost the custom of many drivers. yours MR J P Layton

On Friday the 10th May 2013 I was traveling home by coach and pulled into Frankley services north,where one of our party was ill. If you are unfortunate enough to be taken ill hope that you are in one of the Moto services.The care and attention provided by the staff there was fantastic. We do often post negatives about these areas but this has changed my mind about what they do well. Thank you Linda the manager and Dave the firt aid man, you are a credit to your company.

I was disgusted to see two who i can only guess are managers, sat in the costa seating area shouting at the staff. One of them was short and the other a larger woman with heavy make up. a large cue began to form and the two women remained seated bellowing orders to other staff instead of helping.

I was disgusted yesterday at the behavior of a young family arriving at the services at approx 13.40 hrs parking in a disabled bay! When there were numerous parking spaces within a short distance of the services about 5steps away from us! When I asked if they had a disabled badge they completely ignored us the parents went into the services to get food, leaving young child in the car alone! The driver was driving. Car advertising Landmark General Builders, shame on you!

Stopped off for a coffee and snack, then wandered off leaving my fleece in Costa.Phoned a couple of hours later to be told they had found my fleece and would send it on free of charge! I was so impressed, both with the pleasant attitude on the phone and the prompt return of my well-loved fleece. A huge thank you to all concerned.

Stopped on the northbound side for a break en route home.
Haven't stopped on the northbound side for a while so thought I'd give it another try. Overall not bad car park seems to have been resurfaced or at least repaired. Facilities were good & a reasonable choice of food availible.
Whilst there are signs regarding parking limits didn't see anyone taking photos or with clamping equipmentso that gets a thumbs up from me.

It is outrageous in this day and age that a family in a southbound car towing a caravan cannot make a comfort break stop and then get petrol at Frankley Services. There should be at least a warning prior to the slip road that fuel is not available to cars towing trailers from the HGV parking area.The lack of such warning is extremely anti-social and should be rectified.J. stopped at these services on fri 13 2012 The only part open was the fuel station.NO TOILETS NO FOOD EVEN THE PETROL STATION TOILETS WERE OUT OF ORDER.There were loads of people including families all looking for toilets. There was no prior warning on the m5 just loads of people pulling of to use the services wich were closed for refurbishing.

I had the misfortune to make the biggest mistake i have ever made by stopping for a rest and some breakfast with my wife and son today (28/04/2012).we were traveling from Blackburn Lancashire to worcester and by the time we had got to frankley (BAD) services we needed some refreshments. We went into the food area it was unclean tables needed cleaning and food was skatterd over the floor. we found a table that was clean to sit at and went to the counter to order our food and drinks. i purchased three breakfasts and three cups of i think they said it was tea (Ã‚Â£2.05) the food was served by a young girl who was nice and we went to the till to pay. THE COST of this offering was about Ã‚Â£35.00 WOW but hay lets eat we were hungery. the beens were COLD the bacon was COLD the fried bread was so hard that it snapped into a thousand bits when i tryed to cut it. The fryed egg was so bad that me and my wife both left them also the toast that we ordered had only been butterd in the middle and all the edges were dry with no butter on. I drank about a quater of the cup of tea and this was about all i could bring my self to drink or eat. We left all the food and left the services within ten minnets of sitting down as we needed to go back to the car to get warm. we will not be useing them services again

After travelling straight from work down south from the merseyside area I expect to get a hot meal around 7:30pm it's not an unreasonalnle time, so you can imagine my disappointment to arrive at this service station to find the food area closed, by the looks of things closed for at least a good hour before hand and all that was available was a bloody sandwich from M&S or burger king totally unacceptable.
Needless to say it turned out to be a very quick stop.
Toilets were clean, but i would not recommend this service station

Our family called northbound on the way to Birmingham 02.01.12. I see the negative reviews here, but speak as you find it was quiet mid-morning (it was the new Year bank holiday)and we just had a quick coffee at the Costa outlet. The coffee was good and the seating area clean and comfortable with a nice view across the countryside.
The toilets seemed clean and well-maintained.
Staff were friendly, and prices were typical. The exterior does seem dated, and unlike the southbound services there is no M&S outlet.
I would certainly call again.

We only stopped at Frankley for 10 minutes or so. I was with my wife and son Jacob. Jacob walked around to stretch his legs and we were surprised by the sound of an alarm informing us that people under the age of 18 were not permitted in the slot machine gambling area. Jacob ignored the alarm. I was delighted to be gently confronted by a member of staff telling me under 18s were not allowed. This would have been acceptbale if jacob wasn't in his pyjamas, Thomas the Tank engine slippers and holding his teddy bear. Jacob is 21 months old and can barely reach the coin slot. Well done Frankley!

Well...where to start really. We actually spent all night on site just last night, staying at the Travel Lodge as halfway point from the far north to north Devon. Despite booking in advance, the room (for family) wasn't ready! Had to make the bed ourselves once the manager had brought us duvets and pillows. In the morning it got better! No hot water! Apparently according to the Gertrude receptionist "not my fault we run out is 't!" she went on to say they always run out when it's busy...basically the hotel can't cope with half full or more!
Went to services for breakfast after this...smelling....to find it dirty with what looked liked dodgy "didn't take the chance" sausages, and over priced coffee. BUT the staff in costa were very polite...always end on a positive! do your self a favour, don't stop here!

Frankley services has recieved some interesting complaints very recently in regards to general management based there.I wont name anybody here, but the complaints are of a serious nature and they are intergrated and as area management are failing to deal with these issues then Toddington will have to.We also realise that there is a problem with security on site where the general managment failed to be available to duty management calls, this is very poor management which is going to be reported and investigated.

Stopped for a break en-route to Bristol, first time in years I have stopped at the southbound site.
Overall it was fine, there was a deep clean of the toilet & communal facilities in progress. Food on offer whilst limited looked fresh and indeed was tasty. Some thought appears to have been given to night travellers.

I know that Moto have an appeals process for anyone who feels they shouldn't have received a parking notice. If you or someone you know has been a customer or fallen asleep and a parking notice has been issued, log onto the moto web site and get in touch with them.

Whoever clipped my bumper on the way out can you own up to it - white chalky mark left on my bumper with paint stripped off it!! I am investigating with the local authorities and attempting to search through cctv.

Having left behind a bag at Frankley, I found the admin staff absolutely brilliant. They located the bag, posted it to me even before the cheque covering the postage had arrived there and were extermely kind and professional. Frankley, perfect service!

Stopping often at site on both sides all staff very pleasant especially the foreigners ...I think British still have a lot to learn about kindness and courtesy. I think that is what hospitality business is about. Well I was suprised when i visited the northbound area Friday 12th Sept, my husband and I found the whole place beautifully clean and every single member of staff very helpful and polite.. I spoke to one member who I don't know the name but he I know was portuguese. What a very nice and hard-worker man toilets are well looked after - well done .. So overall a good 10 out of 10.

I call in to the north services every morning to buy a paper at about 8.00am.I have found that not all the staff are friendly,cheerful and efficient.I want to make special mention about one cleaner in particular whose name is Paulo. The toilets are always nice and very clean. He is consistantly friendly and charming even at that time in the morning when all the customers are miserable and grunting. Will you please make sure that he sees this and give him a pat on the back,well done.

Stopped here on the way home from Bristol, 22/9/08 at 2am.
The Car park is in dire need of re-surfacing, some of the pot-holes are the size of man-hole covers.
Toilets filthy, stinking and poorly maintained.
Food on offer was appalling, some of it looked like it had been on hot-plates for days rather that hours dried and over priced and the staff on duty well their attitude & demeanmour were plain ignorant
Regreted taking a break here and would not recommend

It was awful, we went to the cafe upstairs and had to wait ten minutes for our jacket potato and sandwich. When they came they were awful. There were only 8 customers in the cafe and it still took someone 5 minutes to come and serve us.
