I park in a blue badge space Friday 15th july, and there was a long que of cars waiting for the spaces, so I said to this lady, om a desk, there a few cars out there in the car park with out blue badges she said can you show me, I took her out side and a man was picking a old man up off a coach, and the other bloke look at me and said I made a 12 year old cry, because I said to a lady your not showing our badge, your person just stood there as the man came at me with a stick, and two men were yelling at me calling me a white bastard, ive had two liver transplants and a lung, I don't need this and your rather rude lady, mid 50,s to 60,s, said to the man sorry, not to me who being abused at, she turned to me and said well he is stiff after sitting on a coach, those places are for people like me, who are disabled not for someone who popped into get a sandwich, and didn't get off a coach in the first place, I will right to your head office, your services are a disgrace,

We had the severe misfortune to stop at Gordano Services on Friday 22nd August, travelling northbound. What a farce! 30 minutes to get to a parking space was bad enough, but by no means the worse. Over an hour sat in a queue waiting to get out. A situation made worse by 2 grinning idiots who thought they were some sort of cabaret act. Having sat in a barely moving line of traffic for 50 minutes, you discover the 2 idiots are stopping the queue from the car park to let people out who have found a short cut through the HGV park and queued for 10 minutes at most! The only sensible solution to this badly designed facility would be to close it down and bulldoze it!
PS: If I receive a parking fine through the post I will offer a second suggestion that they can stick it and Gordano services where the sun does not shine. Running a services that you cannot get in and out of without exceeding a 2 hour time limit before fining users is nothing short of extortion.
Mick Mooney, Sat 22 Aug 2015
Never use this service station! We were travelling north, so had to come off motorway onto roundabout and enter slip road as there is only services on other side. We had to queue on slip road for half an hour to get into car park. We went to loo and bought food to eat in car. Traffic was building up and we had to wait to get out of our parking space. We moved half a car length then turned engine off we waited that long. It was like this for two and a half hours. yes 2 1/2 hours we were trying to get out of car park. No-one came to say what the problem was. A single security man at the exit said a traffic light on roundabout had broken and the police were coming. Bit late! So just try and send us a fine for being on car park for over 2 hours - you know what we'll say! never go to this service station!
karen, Wed 19 Aug 2015
I have never before seen a service station as bad as this one. The first thing is the car park - whoever designed it should be shot. We waited over half an hour to get from the services entrance to the car park itself as it was so congested. Cars could not enter because the exit and car park was blocked of cars trying to leave. Hence madness, anger and a lot of car horns blasting ensued, all in 25 degree heat. Had anyone thought more about the design, this could have been avoided. Also, the service area itself is grubby, too small and unwelcoming to dogs. I shall never stop here again.

Stopped off for lunch with my 4 children while travelling in May half term. After trying to find a parking space and getting the 4 kids out the car, we waited 15 minutes to change my 5 month old's nappy. We then went to find a table and buy food. The kids ate, I fed the baby and then ate my food. I took the kids to the loo before having to change another nappy and got them all back in the car.A few weeks later I received a parking charge notice requesting £100 because I overstayed by 28 minutes. This is absolutely extortionate. How can 28 minutes amount to a £100 fine. If there were more facilities for nappy changes etc it may not have taken quite so long - although stopping to feed 4 children will always take a while.I have used Gordano for many years and never realised you should purchase a ticket if you plan to stay longer than 2 hours.I will never use Gordano again and will advise everyone I know (and don't know) to stear well clear. They clearly are not family friendly.

Stopped off as we were on a long journey and decided to have lunch, not a great deal of healthy options at this services but we had a Harry ramsdens as we haven't for years and it was lovely food was presented beautiful and the staff were very polite and helpful with carrying our food over for us.
Donna, Thu 25 Jun 2015
Really poor for a family. Only junk food being served nothing even remotely healthy or hot. Cannot buy food as a group and expect it to arrive together. Really disappointed that they have spent so much refurbishing it but then nothing to stop for.
Tania, Tue 7 Apr 2015
We travel to Cornwall several times a year and usually stop off for a break at the Gordano services. We have noticed that the standards over the last year have been steadily dropping. I agree with most of the negative comments made and still nothing has been done about the hygienic standards.
The toilets not cleaned or the floor mopped, the tables not wiped down in the restaurant areas. The floors covered in food and you could live for a week off the stale food behind and under the radiators. It is out of season and quiet so you would think the management would organise a deep clean and the standards would be higher. Back to Exeter in future.
Liz, Mon 8 Dec 2014
Very, very disappointed!! I stopped at the services for some food and coffee on the 26th oct' 14. The main reason for this was to meet and pick up my rescue dog, unfortunately the traffic was bad that day and the owners of ibizan hound rescue were over an hour late to meet me. The weather was bad and it was dusk when I pulled in to the carpark, therefore I did not see the parking eye signage, two weeks later I'm faced with the parking fine!!! Honestly, you try and do some good in this world and these greedy human beings hit you with this extortionate charge!!! I would of happily paid the £11 had I of known about it!!!

My sister and I arranged to meet a business friend at these services, he was traveling from London and us from Barnstaple Devon. We met at midday, so had lunch and coffees while we chatted.I have just been emailed by my sister who told me we have a £100. parking fine ? Are you serious, this is disgusting, we had no idea about a time limit on using your so called services, should we have bought a ticket? We saw no signs and did not know we were breaking your dumb rules. This is a disgrace, you're sneak ripping people off who are spending money at your joke of a service stop. Needless to say we will never stop here again and will make sure we inform as many as we can about your scam.

Firstly, with regard Parking Eye, and their extortion tactics, check out the Money Saving Expert forum; lots of advice on how to fight these cowboys. There is also a case going through the Courts at the moment which may set a legal precedent for all PPCs.However, my main comments are regarding the insanitary baby changing facilities (I use the term loosely). Horrific, to the extent that I changed my little grandson in the car instead. One for the whole services, to start with: overflowing nappy bins; mould all over the shelf at the back of the toilet; grime around the sink; the worst facilities I have ever encountered. I spoke to the duty manager who agrees but passed the buck; standard behaviour. This isn't a one-off either, the facilities (limited as they are) are always in a disgusting state. Will be passing my photographs on to the local Environmental Health Department.

Absolutely appalled by so-called 'Welcome' Break. Have visited Gordano services for years, en route to courses/meetings - and now I find I have a bill for £100 for 'overstaying' the 2hrs - supposedly stated on entering the carpark.
Stopping, getting coffee, breakfast and buying in the shop, including fuel, etc means nothing....!!!
VERY annoyed with supposed 'Welcome' Break
I personally will NEVER use these services or ANY so-called Welcome Break services again. Another customer angered and I will strongly suggest to others NEVER to trust your services again...
VERY disappointed with Welcome Break, and the use of their 'Parking Eye' service
Aron Bowers, Mon 13 Oct 2014
Help....I've just received a letter to say that I'm charged £100 car parking but I was using the services and have provided the company with receipts for coffee/lunch at the services. I was meeting friends on route. I've just received a letter back saying I need evidence/further evidence of purchases and still owe it. I understand you can't leave your car there but I was using the facilities so didn't realise I had committed anything wrong. I see from your comments below that many people are anger and upset - I am too and sick just trying to figure out how to pay it. You should be renamed Unwelcome Break and I will avoid you in the future. Please, at a management level, you must sort out this issue with your parking contractors - how much are they making a year over someone's general suffering. Seriously you are causing people extreme grief and upset and should not underestimate the trauma that level of parking fee is to innocent users of your facilities.

I have been trying to ring you all over the weekend as I was on a National Coach trip to Newquay on Monday 22 September 2014 & when we stopped at your services I left my navy blue cardigan in your cafe area. It has a pleated effect back & a collar. Our driver said we would be calling on the way back on Friday 26 September but we DID NOT so I wondered if my cardigan had been handed in,. Thank you 07785243495

I have used your services in the past. As I understand that you are now discriminating against motorcyclist I will in future ensure that my vehicle has sufficient fuel to pass you by.
Alan, Fri 26 Sep 2014
Please provide clean and secure places to store helmets due to your discriminatory requests I will not use your filling station as a driver or biker but think you should provide somewhere for your other biker customers to place their very expensive legally required equipment!
Chris, Tue 23 Sep 2014
Hi,
As a frequent user of your services I have on many occasions been tempted to complain about the poor toilets. The smell is aweful. As a motorcyclist it is often difficult to find so where decent, clean and dry to put my crash helmet whilst I use the toilets. The whole area always seems grubby damp and horrible.
Today I am more angered than normal to find a sign on the fuel pumps telling me I must remove my crash helmet. There is again no where decent, clean and dry to put the helmet. My helmet is nothing special but it cost over £300 and I certainly don't want to be putting it on the fuel stained floor.
This is actually a form of discrimination and totally unfair. If I was wearing a burka would you ask the same, no I don't think you would.
Most motorcycles hold around £20 worth of fuel, hardly enough to be worth driving away without paying. Especially given your location.
Can I ask you to reconsider this request and allow bikers to keep their helmets on.In the rain the whole process of taking helmets and gloves off is an even bigger nightmare.
Please consider your customers needs instead of assuming we are all thieves.
Thank you
Pete
My helmet is nothing special but it cost over

I recently meet a work colleague at Gordano services prior to a nearby business meeting. Having completed the meeting we agreed to do a de-brief discussion again at nearby Gordano before heading our separate ways. Imagine my disbelief in receiving a £100 parking fine for supposedly staying in the services for nearly 4 hours, it's an understatement to say I am angry and upset with Gordano and their Parking Eye sub contractor. Their letter is awful, officious and threatening. 2 hrs Free then £100 fine, I have seen a more proportionate response from President George Bush!

sirs we stopped to visit your ay thegordano sevices last week, and i have to say the gents facilities are digustaying, i cant recall such an appalling stench from any facility visited in my 50 years motoring.my son and i were practically vomiting.surfice to say we will avoid you in the future as im sure many do,im told.

We always stop at this service on the way toBurnham on Sea. Have done for over 15 years. And we have purchased chicken nuggets from burger king. This time we had the same and went back to our van and have them with a coffee. They were awful. Cheap and hard and full of grissle. I went back in and asked to speak to manager and asked for name of franchise to complain to and asked for a refund. She was very polite and said as long as I had the receipt. I went and got it from our van. She said they had changed to a different make of nuggets and I said they were awful. The problem is the telephone number she gave me was the stand she worked at so the complaint goes no further and we the public are served cheap rubbish food. I definitely will not be buying from them again for my children as the amount of grissle they contained they could have choked.

I was taken ill during my journey to Weston Super Mare and the coach had to make an unplanned stop off for me at Gordano Service Station. My condition worsened and security alerted the site first aider. They promptly called the emergency services and took care and offered reassurance to my very upset son who is Autistic. The ambulance team checked my vitals and everything looked ok so the service station staff contacted the Days Inn Hotel next door and arranged for us to stay there until I recovered. They transported me into the hotel via a wheel chair and made sure I was comfortable. My son was also taken to get lunch and was allowed to bring it back to the hotel to eat beside me. I cant remember individual names but I think the lady who looked after my son was named Bev. I really cant thank everyone enough, a lovely service station and hotel with lovely helpful staff :)

I stopped at Gordano services on my way to Devon where I had arranged to meet family members who were travelling down from the north. They were delayed due to a breakdown and finally called to say they were being towed and would meet me in Devon. I had lunch and a coffee and carried on with my journey.
I have now returned from my holiday on August 1st to find a parking charge notice from Parking Eye for £ 100.00 because I was parked at the services 40 minutes longer than is allowed. One hundred pounds !
I will Never visit Gordano services again as long as I live or arrange to meet anybody there who might fill up with fuel or buy products on the site.I will ensure that I encourage as many people as I can to avoid it also. I am sure they will not care, but I cannot bring myself to pay premium rates for average food and drink and then have my host force a £100 parking fee on me.I am very upset by this and shaking with anger.
Mike Knight, Fri 1 Aug 2014
This place is clearly understaffed and suffering because of it. The only happy employee I encountered was doing his last shift before leaving. Lines stretched 60 people long and 4 people wide for the Burger King I saw as I entered. KFC was just as bad. The whole place was swamped. It's no wonder this place is understaffed, I wouldn't work in this stress for a 40 grand salary, and I suspect these poor people are minimum wage, if not a few pence above it. It's literally no wonder they all look ready to quit or collapse, whichever comes first.
Mrs Davidson, Mon 14 Jul 2014
It took us an hour and a half to leave the car park from this services on Friday 27th June - we were told this was due to the traffic lights and roundabout did not let enough cars through each time. I will never stop here again and I advise you not to as well. With young children stuck in the car, this is NOT a happy experience. Also the baby changing facilities are horrendous - one was a changing table attached to the wall in a shower cubicle (no sink) and the other is a changing table attached to the wall at the end of the ladies toilets.
Mrs Rodgers, Fri 27 Jun 2014
Absolute disgrace, Just wasted an hour of my life, Stuck in your car park,Totally disorganised,Will be late for friends wedding,Never seen such a shambles
Jacky Gardner, Fri 27 Jun 2014
I went into Gordano Services with a group of 44 on my coach, mostly children and ordered 12 bargain buckets at KFC. We were refused service as they told us that it was too large an order to deal with! I meanwhile had a meal at the hot food counter and found it even worse than your usual low standards. The food could not even be described as warm and the rice I was served was in awful lumps. Disgusting in edible food. Shall not be bringing in my coach by choice again. Drove on down to Taunton Deane and were welcomed with open arms and good food.

We travelled from chester with are two very young grandchildren to meet up with their parents who were travelling up from Falmouth to collect them. Our route down was delayed by road works and bad weather, as a result their parents had to wait longer for us to arrive! So by the time we had rested and swopped over the children they had exceeded the time by 35 minuets for which they have been issued a fine of £100. We were not aware of this time limit and nor did we notice any signs, as having arrived weary and looking forward to reuniting the grandchildren with there parents, we feel this time limit is ridiculous and very unfair and will avoid this service station in future. Be warned.

Look out for parking fines if you stay over 2 hours!!!
I recieved a £60 parking fine for exceeding a free stay duration of 2 hours that I didnt even know existed! I have never heard of a motorway services charging visitor and patrons to park! After all it is supposed to be a service and we (the customers) are paying for the ammenities and services on offer. Having now read many of the other comments on this site it is apparent that the management of this location have no intention of changing this policy so my advice to all is beware, or stay away and boycotte this location as I will be in the future!Very dissappointed and annoyedHolly
Holly Bassett, Fri 13 Dec 2013
I think its about time the authorities police, highways, ROSPA etc got involved and this immoral practice of fining road users who overstay the so called two hours rest period is looked into and outlawed. I myself suffer from migraine accompanied by visual disturbances. Should I therefore drive on a complete danger to other road users and myself or pull into a "welcome break" until I have recovered. We are constantly made aware by signs on the motorways to stop for a break if we are feeling tired or indeed poorly. I think its about time we as road users rallied together and lobbied for an end to this 2 hour only so called rule

We stayed at the Days Inn for the night and received a parking ticket.Eventually managed to get through to the hotel and was reassured that it was mistake and it would be sorted out. Today we have had a reminder and we now owe £100.Checking the other comments,I was wondering if this is a scam

Left home in Herefordshire at 5am to go to Newton Abbot & South Devon Canine Society Open show on the 24th August. Stopped at Gordano by the grass and exercised 4 dogs. The cameras have us arriving at 6.12am but not leaving 20 mins later. We arrived at Matford leisure Centre at 8am and Judging started at 9am. We won best puppy in flatcoat retrievers in front of loads of witnesses and of course the secretary and the Kennel Club who have the results can verify this. We stayed for the Puppy group again in front of 100's of witnesses. We left after lunch and visited a house in Upton Pyne with a friend , she will verify. We then met another friend at 4pm at the Mill on the Exe, and although we paid cash and have no card receipt this can be verified by the pub and our friend. We stopped on the way back at Gordano, I used the facilities, walking up the disabled ramp on the left of the front doorway, we exercised the dogs . The cameras have us leaving at 20.05.BUT not arriving. They are charging us , a so called fine, for being there for 14 hours. My proof has not been accepted.I will ignore the follow up letters ..see you in court Parking Eye. They have such a bad reputation can I suggest to whoever has the contract with them , Gordano or the landowner that you stop the contract.

Regular customers of Starbucks cafe as nearest to where we live. Did not realise there was a charge for overstaying your visit. New signs only recently added. Received invoice from cowboy car parking company for £60, going up to £100 if not paid within a month. That is £2 for every minute we overstayed. Never again. Welcome Break-NEVER.
Anonymous, Thu 5 Sep 2013
It is all very well for the service area to boast a picnic site, and for me it was great that there was a place to exercise my dog, but the amount of litter in those areas was quite dreadful. I understand that the prevailing wind does much to scatter the litter, but I feel that the site management should take it upon themselves to remove it.
J Lockett, Sun 18 Aug 2013
Broke down, drunk endless expensive coffees in the Starbucks and then got a £60.00 fine for overstaying my welcome break, more like #unwelcome break

I am a voluntary worker for the Dalmatian Welfare, we use our own transport to ferry dogs to their new adopted families across the country, this is achieved by using the service stations as a transfer point. Last Saturday we used the Gordano Services as an arranged meeting spot to transfer dogs, but unfortunately there was a delay which caused use to exceed the two hour limit by 15 mins.We operate on donations and to have a demand made of us to the tune of £60 is not going to help our cause, I would be grateful if you could do something to remove this penalty. stopped here Tues 12 Feb 2013 with two folks I had picked up at Gatwick. We went to the breakfast outlet, waited at the counter for FIVE minutes while the lady prepared something, probably for herself, as there were no other customers. She then came over & asked what we wanted. We asked for two breakfasts, she then flipped the menu boards over & told us that it was now lunchtime. We did get a breakfast of sorts but it was the worst food I have ever had from from a service stop on any motorway. I suggest you all avoid this excuse for a SERVICE Station.

We have visited Gordano many times, as it is convenient as we travel. However, we have always been alarmed as we pull into the road leading to the car park at how high and abrupt the 'sleeping policemen' are; one, in particular, is heavily gouged (presumably this has done not insignificant damage to the undersides of some cars). While we fully appreciate the need to reduce speeds in the approach to the parking area, we feel these would still serve that purpose very effectively, without risking damage to vehicles, if they were reduced in size.
J Tucker, Wed 17 Oct 2012
Stopped here on the way down to Cornwall from the midlands with our caravan, it was busy but we found a place to park okay. We bought food & drinks from Starbucks, prices on the high side but we knew that. On the way back to the car my daughter tripped and dropped her barely touched frappucino, I went back more in hope than expectation but the staff made another free of charge and were really kind as they could see she had fallen over. Will stop here next year.

This is a rant to those company senior buyers of food in the welcome break restaraunt.Who ever sanctioned the purchase of the Wiltshire ham and chicken pie for human consumption should be sacked imediatley.

Totally disgusted! On the 2nd June your carpark was totall gridlocked owing to trafic problems on the M5 for over three hours. Nothing was moving and the only possible way out would have been an airlift. Despite this impossible situation you still issued parking tickets!
This is one for the papers and my MP

visited the services today and not impressed i work with disabled people, and as i walked along the path past the disabled parking which was full, only one person was registered and displaying a blue badge, yes some familys with small children, as you have not noticed they also need more room to get the children in and out of the seats. so why is it not advertised that a ticket would be given to these people who abuse your services and cause the disbaled more problems, YOU are handy at giving tickets to the hard working people of our country.
I will be reporting this to the local authority.
LYNN BELL, Sun 27 May 2012
Having seen the website promoting this area as a perfect place for business meetings I thought it would be just that. Not impressed at all to then receive a parking fine for £60 for overstaying in the car park! Its not like you can go anywhere else from the carpark - we were using YOUR facilities, buying YOUR drinks and food in YOUR so called perfect place for a meeting. I shall be contesting this as the signs were NOT clear - this is evident as not only myself but also my two colleagues were caught out and clearly others have been too. Disgusting way to trade. Will not be using this services again ever.

My family love visiting here on our way to Cornwall. Plenty of parking and more importantly plenty of toilets!!! In the Summer sun - its nice to sit on the outside banking and eat a picnic before the long drive down to Cornwall. Its when we know our holiday has really started.

I met a business colleague at Gordano: he was delayed by traffic North of Bristol. We had a lengthy discussion over a meal. I have now received a parking penalty charge for exceeding a 2 hour stay. I will never visit Gordano again.

We stopped off for something to eat last night at 7:50. The serving dishes were all empty so we enquired as to whether there was hot food. The server replied some of it was available so we both ordered chicken curry to be told it would take 25-30 minutes. In a service station - are they kidding? Won't be stopping here again.
Rachael Levermore, Tue 21 Feb 2012
I called at the services last Friday, had a lovely meal at the KFC which was great, the new charger was recommended to me. However my stop was ruined by the "service" in the garage. I was served by a big lad with glasses, ever so friendly. On the next till was a lad wearing a trainee name tag. As I was about to leave, a young man of maybe 20 in a white shirt was very insulting to the trainee, using terms like fudge packer and faggot. The young trainee looked deeply offended and upset by these comments. Certainly not the behaviour of that manager! Please sort this out before I return

I love Gordano services! This is without doubt the best service station I have ever been to. I don't even visit Gordano on a journey to somewhere else, I visit the services for the pure pleasure of it. The clean toilets, the friendly staff, the wonderful gingerbread mochas; you won't find a better Motorway service station this side of the Lake District. Visit today, or miss out!

Our time at the services where we stopped for coffee etc was very good. The superlative service came afterwards. My husband had left his camera at the tables. We rang about an hour or so later from the M6 motorway and spoke to Mrs Ann Keeley, Unit Manager. The camera had not been handed in but she went to look for it and found it. As we were over a hundred miles away in our friends car on our way home in the north, she offered to post it to us. It has arrived safely today and we are delighted. Thank you very much. We will certainly be stopping there again on our way to our family in Devon. I hope she will be commended for her actions and kindly manner in which she helped us
Mrs Scoltock, Thu 27 Oct 2011
The services was very big and had everything I would need. The layout was easy to navigate and the KFC had a easy to use self-service point which allows users to select their meal on a touchscreen and pay by credit card. This makes it service easier and faster.
Karthic Durai, Sun 25 Sep 2011
Your staff on the 26/6/11 refused to serve me wihtout a valid reason I believe that I was a victim of race descrimination on the ground of my colour. This led to a report going to Avon and Somerset and Gloucestershire Police accsuing me off making off without payng for the petrol.
This type of shamefull act was thougth to be a thing of the past but infact its still here and very much alive.
Dennis Jarrett, Wed 31 Aug 2011
Wow! What a service station! You couldn't ask for more from a motorway service station. It was like being at the royal wedding or a celebration of a similar caliber. Pulled off near J19 and drove down the very clearly sign posted lane onto, what can only be described as, a palatial parking area (I find the phrase Car Park upsetting as there is no where for the cars to play like in a Children's Park) Once I had carefully chosen a space, taking into account; distance from building, chances of other motorists parking near me, likelihood of forgetting something and having to return to the main building. (The spot I chose was glorious overlooking some of the most splendid grass verges in the world of service stations) The trees around the Petrol station are beautiful. Inside, I was treated by all the staff like a celebrity, often being smiled at. I couldn't recommend this service station more enthusiastically.

I have been stopping here at the weekends for years But less so these past 6 months.I arrived this past weekend and what a mistake that was. Staff were not interested in the customers,Kfc food was tepid and Far from fresh. I am surprised because over the years i regularly stop on services up and down the M5 and gordano and sedgmoor are def the better ones but for the past year the kfc staff and food has gotten consistently poor and supprisingly the eat-in restaurant has become consistent good.A word to the wise if stopping at gordano avoid the kfc but the starbucks, eat-in and burger king are of good standard.P.s. They used to have very good managers in the kfc one called vicky a polish girl and a black guy i haven't seen them in a while which might explain the drop in standards.

Overll gordanos is a very gd services, stop their twice every 3 weeks on my long journey to pick up my daughter. Usually great service, unfortuntly this evenin while gettin a hot chocolate and a tea, we werent informed that there was no whipped cream for hot chocolate, and was given half a cup of tea instead of a full cup. So when we asked about the whipped cream we was rudely told, while the person looked away from us

I have just received a parking charge for parking in your car park for four hours. I intend to dispute this and argue my case in court for the following reasons.1. I did not see clear signs of any timed parking restrictions ( there may be some but given it was a dark autum evening, and there were hardly any other cars parked there, I would have thought it was irrelevant )2. I purchased a meal (some £10's worth) and a couple of take out drinks ( £2.50 each), plus filled tank at filling station during this period. Total spend close on £100.....I have the receiptsI have no intention of being ripped off for a futher £60!!!

Could this be POSSIBLY the best Motorway service station? in both quality and scenery it in my opnion is the best. The parking is more than adequate, nice and easy to access and exit. the scenery is more like being at a picnic site with the hills and trees around you and the toilets were spotless. The car park was well used with only a few pocket of empty spaces here and there.. Then again this was the Friday just before the August bank holiday.

We stopped here in June 2010 on way to Glastonbury with our caravan. The facilities were spotless and there was plenty of room to park.

Lots of parking spaces, Toilets were okay, Very long queues for KFC.Good place overall with nice views (for services anyway!).

we stopped her on saturday 25th July 2009 that food was good and the toilets were excellent was shocked as quite a few of the reveiws stated the toilets were bad
P Chesters, Sat 1 Aug 2009
brilliant service everytime i stop there nice staff and food and coffee and toilets "plenty of the latter"
andrew perry, Sun 26 Jul 2009
We have stopped twice recently at the services, both times the toilets have been awful. Many of the locks are broken and the toilets themselves need a good cleaning.Shame cause the rest of the facilities were good.Hopefully someone in authority will check out what I mean.

'EAT IN' does not work for you.
I have stayed at several hotels on the motorways for the past several months.
In the evenings, looking for a quick carry out in order to continue my work in the room, I always walk past EAT IN and head for the long Burger king or KFC Queues ('lines' from where I come from)
A few days ago, I disovered the teeny tiny letters on the EAT IN signs, 'or take out'.
No wonder the other guys are busy while EAT IN has no customers.
Just my opinion
Cheers

Needs to be enlarged and refitted. The main building really is past its best. The toilets are never clean! I visit Gordano regularly and the only decent bit is the Shell petrol station - that's got a good variety of sandwiches and a Coffee Nation machine. It's also in a nice quiet setting surrounded by tall trees and a grassy area.
James, Thu 18 Sep 2008
This has got to be the worst services I have ever visited. The stench from the mens toilets was appalling and we were forced to leave or else be sick.
ken brunt, Sun 24 Aug 2008
I completely disagree with the previous response regarding bringing your own food. You would nt dare bring your own food and eat it in a restaurant in a town, so why are you expecting it at a motorway service area. Good on the waitress !!
Ian, Tue 19 Aug 2008
Pouring with rain, we as a family of 5 needed to eat inside. We had our own food, which any sensible family would, and half way through we were told by a waitress, to move. I told her no way due to the rain where are we supposed to go? Food prices in services are ridiculous, and the last time we ate services food, my kids ended up with food poisoning, lesson learned. She eventually backed off and when another family did the same as us, she left them alone. This should be addressed by management, understanding and providing indoor picnic areas as the outdoors is perfect when the weather suits.

Eat In - Premium Range is really very good indeed for a motorway side effort. My kids , having been brought up on decent food always lunge at it and ignore the BKs etc.
Suits me fine, 'cos if wife and I eat they get theirs free!!
Paul Anderson, Sun 20 Apr 2008
Well where do i start, is it the toilet with its own sustained life forms, or the eating facilities, where creatures from no other planet live. Tables dirty, floor with grease and dirt. Coffee machine with some kind of brown murky substance, resembling coffee. Shops so expensive you need to take out a bank loan for. For example, a paper a sandwich and a drink £5.85. Im never going there again. its a frightening place, children beware
Syoung, Sat 12 Apr 2008
Gordano used to be good but recently the toilets have been disgusting. The coffee machine is always out of order and rude staff in the shop. We now stop at Micheal Wood instead as it is much cleaner with better staff.
A stanley, Tue 1 Apr 2008
How has this got such a good rating?
It has to rank amongst the worst I've ever been to. Toilets stank, food was very poor and dried up, décor was tacky 1970's - Think Orange plastic canteen seats on fixed mountings, useless if you are not "normal" sized!
In dire need of a serious refit (or, better still, rebuilt totally.
Jim Andrews, Fri 7 Mar 2008
fantastic especially Burger King nice friendly staff
Ken Brooks, Sat 20 Oct 2007
Stopped of the way to London from Exmouth. Very friendly staff and an excellent selection of hot and cold food. Toilets were very clean and I was particualy impressed with the wide selection of train literature. Thank you Gordano. I will definatly stop again.
Eddie H Morgan, Thu 18 Oct 2007
I checked this site to see if could leave my car overnight or even over the weekend but found no information.
There must be a paid for car parking facility?.
Charles Lightfield, Fri 16 Feb 2007
We love Gordarno, every surf trip to devon/cornwall we always stop off to use the quality toilets and enjoy a good BK/KFC. Plus loadsa parking for the minibusses!
See you again soon,
HOVIS (surfstaffs.com), Tue 3 Oct 2006
the caravan/motorhome park on the southbound is disgusting. there are very large pot holes, full of water, the surface is shale/mud so you get dirty when getting out. give this one a miss-I will in future.
john marsden, Tue 19 Sep 2006
Gordano services is the best motorway service i have ever been to.It was so clean there and the staff were really helpful.
