If you want a meal hard luck. You can eat - but only food that comes in a bun. No cafeteria only the usual bread-and-filling outlets. There is a Harry Ramsden for f & c and they do a 'brunch'. Be warned, though, the chips are like leather.

Just 2 visable disabled parking bays RIDICULOUS. Had to drive the wrong way around just to get the the disabled bay as there is No DISABLED BAY SIGNS.

Have just stopped at Keele Services and I will certainly not be using them again. The car park is awful, the drainage is disgusting am surprised it didn't damage car and us full of pot holes. The toilets were not clean at all. I went to Subway but was no staff about what so ever to serve people, so decided to go to KFC and wish I hadn't of bothered as had to queue for 40 mins to be served and the service I got was not very pleasant at all. I wouldn't recommend stopping at this services to anyone.

Itâ€™s a loveless relationship of convenience with motorway service stations and their customers isnâ€™t itâ€¦. They make it freezing cold so you go away quickly and rip you off in the process.
The public treat the place like a dump.
We kind of deserve each other really although I'm of the opinion that the service stations started it.

Breakfast was awful. Ã‚Â£7.99 for bacon, sausages, egg, mushrooms, beans and hash brown, served by a sulky unpleasant woman. My husband didn't want beans but asked for a slice of black pudding. ("that's extra!") snapped the sulky woman. Everything was cold except the mushrooms. Oh, and if you want sauce it's an extra 20p for a small sachet. I'd rather starve! At least the hot chocolate was good - it helped to get rid of the taste of the food.

What an absolutely vile place! The car park is horrendous, huge drainage channels running the length of the northbound car park which can only serve to damage suspension!The toilets were an utter disgrace, water all over the floor, one hot tap working, water flooding under the doors of the showers, the cubicles were vile, I wouldn't let my dog use them let alone a human being!Starbucks was fine, Subway staff need lessons in smiling and providing friendly customer service, Waitrose the only shining star with pleasant staff (a guy with the name badge 'Dave' having banter with the other staff, very pleasant) and a good shop.I thought motorway services had progressed, but clearly Keele is stuck in the 1970's, with average facilities and cringeworthy plastic plants that surely went out with Ford Cortina's in the 70's.

Absolutely disgusting and i think that its obviously down to management. They obviously sit back and watch the staff who are on a minimum wage do all the work. Shirkers not workers, but this is a common problem these days.

as a trucker i have noticed higher prices for all the services like food and drinks throughout all service areas not just keele. the parking areas are all very tight to get into and we cant open our doors properly to get out of the cabs and often things like showers are not looked after by service area staff properly. a couple of weeks ago i was on one of your services and got talking to a coach driver who openly told me he had no passengers on his coach but also said he rarely travels on motorways and got his meal for a mere 1p and myself who lives on services all week had to pay full price which i found disgusting. could i also ask whatever happened to the drivers room most service areas used to offer i feel like us truckers are treated like pigs and im not the only trucker to think this. to put it in a simple way we pay a lot for parking in poor size bays and as far away as possible from the services pay full price for everything poor self hygiene facilities and not even a rest room for the drivers to be able to spend a bit of time out of our cabs. i think all service area owners should look at how much a trucker actually spend each year on service areas and reward truckers like you reward coach drivers

Called into Services on Friday 17 Oct with caravan, turned off into the caravan designated area only to find no actual area for caravans, just cars everywhere. Eventually drove through the car park with difficulty and went straight out again. I thought that the purpose of the services was to supply rest and recuperation area for drivers, I feel strongly that the services should be marked no caravans wanted, drive to next services. Marked down as not to be used again, and this is in the quiet period for caravans!

It takes alot for me to write this sort of feedback. I visited the Keele Services northbound this morning and the experience was appalling.I have never seen toilets so dirty. I travel on the M6 at least three times a week and I will not be stopping at these services ever again, a total and utter disgrace. Where on earth is the management to ensure the facilities are kept clean and suitable for travellers to use. Service stations on the continent are pleasant places, Keele Services you should be ashamed.

I was in keele services yesterday morning for breakfast it was horrible,staff were rude food was cold when we complained shoulders were shrugged it was disgusting and we will never return. .

Keele Services,southbound. Very few "blue-badge" parking spaces (especially for such a large car park). Only one disabled toilet which doubles as a baby-change facility - long queue. As a wheelchair user, didn't have the option of trying the northbound services or the facilities on the bridge because there isn't a lift.

Awful, awful, awful! The toilets were disgusting, the first cubicle I tried had no seat and the second had an overflowing sanitary bin.
The car park wasn't easy to negotiate due to bad signage and when we finally made our escape the exit wasn't clearly marked. I never want to stop here again!

Avoid these services. Today on my way home from work called and the northbound toilets are closed. Had to go across to the south side to find no toliet roll in at least 3 of the toilets and a small amount in he 4th one I tried. No one to tell either I don't normally use this services and won't be again!

Stopped at keele on Monday I have to say this is the cleanist service area I have ever visited, toilets were spotless love the plants and all the staff were so helpful

Stopped at this services as part of a coach party for breakfast. Paid Ã‚Â£22.00 for two full English breakfast. I asked the girl serving can I have black pudding. No was the answer you have to pay extra. So full English isn't that. We sat down to eat it and it was stone cold , the worse breakfast I have ever had in my life. My advice is don't bother !

on monday the 28th of october i stopped at your lorry park onthe southbound services for a break whilst walking around my lorry i slipped on some diesel that had been spilt in the lorry park and injured my back i tried to report it to a member of your staff but they were not interested and would not give me the oppertunity to put it in your accident book

I visited keele services on Thursday with my family around 9.20pm and a young man was just cleaning down the hot food counter. We though this meant there was no more food, we approached the counter and before we had even got there the young man liam asked if he could help and get anything for us. I asked if they were closing and he said 'No just having a tidy up' I then asked what hot food was left and he said anything you would like on the menu i can cook nice and fresh to order for you. My wife is a vegetarian but didn't want the lasagne so he offered to cook some chips eggs and peas for her, which we were delighted with. He then went to do our meals and within 10 minutes we had 4 freshly cooked meals bought over to our table, the presentation was brilliant and the food was nice and hot and tasted delicious, we didnt leave a scrap. Really appreciate this kind of service and plan to send a complimentary letter to welcome break

I went to keele a few months ago and had great service from a lady called zoie she went the extra mile for me and my family. We went again last week and I was shocked to find zoie no longer works there. I asked for a steak pie with chips and gravy the chips were cold the pie was frozen and when I complained the lady (blonde) told me it wasn't and stop complaining. I asked to speak to a manager which I was told no. I had to leave. All I can say is bring back zoie she would of looked after us.

Hi there, Normally i'm not one for complaining, but on this occasion I just have to. I travel on the M6 regularly and always use Keele services when travelling south. On Wed 04/09/13 I walked in with my family members for what was going to be a Full English Breakfast, but the reception I got from the blonde girl who was about to serve me changed my mind, it appeared to me that we had interfered with her social life simply by being there, I didn't feel that a meal would be cooked or presented properly by someone with this attitude. I decided instead to order a Late, the same girl asked "medium or large"? in a fed up manner, making it clear to us that we had interrupted her conversation with her other blonde female friend.While sitting at the rear of the cafÃƒÂ©, closest to the motorway, the two then went back to having a full on natter and clearly showed no interest in the possibility of anyone approaching to be served.One other thing I must mention is the red lights which block the view to the wall mounted TV in the rear area ???Normally i'm very happy to use your services, but yesterday was shocking.

I went to Keele Services today.I wanted to go to KFC but with me using crutches it was impossible to climb three flights of stairs.When i asked if there was a lift for disabled people to use i was to there wasn't and was told i could have something to eat in the cafe downstairs or someone could bring a KFC meal down.If i wanted to use the cafe downstairs i would have used it.As for bringing bringing the KFC meal down to me to eat in the car,if i wanted to eat in the car i would have bought a sandwich. I find it disgusting that disabled people are dictated as to where they can eat.If the shoe was on the other foot there would be hell to pay.I certainly won't be returning to Keele Services and i will advise others to avoid it as well.

Stopped for a break returning home to Yorkshire
No MSA is perfect but I do like Keele and it always seems they make an effort. Toilets were clean & fresh. The food we had was good and was freshly cooked.
Car park on the northbound is in reasonable condition and a male cleaner supplied fresh drinking water for our dog which he did without asking! so well impressed with that.

stayed over with car and caravan on friday the 10th of may we were charged Ã‚Â£18 50pence and no meal voucher this is the dearest we have ever been charged for an overnight stay we normaly pay Ã‚Â£10. we arrived about midnight and left about 6am this seems very expensive we wont be staying there again

Stopped off at Keele services Southbound,went into the garage toilets and they were disgusting! Had not been cleaned for weeks if not months.Used toilet paper behind the door toilet seat covered in urine and other stuff! Pan had not seen a drop of bleach since new! Mentioned to the guy working there about the state of his toilets and there was a shrug of his shoulders with no response! Avoid at all costs!

Stopped off for a KFC tonight. It took over 10 mins to serve the 8 people in front of us.
It did give me the time to watch the many staff throw paper at each other and generly not do alot apart from messing around.
When I saw one staff member sneeze right near food that's when decided this was not a good idea and left.

Just received a Ã‚Â£100 parking charge notice for stopping in car park between 0200 and 0600. Needed to '"take a break as tiredness can kill" so got four hours sleep in the deserted car park before driving on again without realising that there was a restricted stay of 2 hours!Will not be giving this MSA any further business. It is hard to see what loss of business to justify Ã‚Â£100 could possibly be caused by a longer than average stay in a deserted car park at this time in the early morning.

Watch out for the accessible pumps on the right-hand side. They dispense "Vpower" which was not obvious to me - I had checked the already exorbitant price on the overhead sign at Ã‚Â£149.9 but was horrified to find I had been charge Ã‚Â£1.579 for diesel. It's a case of "buyer beware" - I suppose the fact that this row of pumps had no other cars should have been a warning, but I just didn't make the connection.
Won't make that mistake again, just wanted to warn others. I have tried to locate the operator on the website to complain directly but it has defeated me, so this is my recourse!

Forced to stop here to take a comfort break.
Seems the issues regarding parking have been resolved or at least altered, so ended up taking my break. Overall I do rate this MSA it was just the issue re parking that stopped me from calling here. Seems vehicles are photographed entering and leaving which is still questionable but somehow better that a person doing it. However, I still feel that the issues about parking need to be looked at across the whole network of MSA.

Have been using this MSA for my legal break for the past few months now. However, on my last visit a man from the firm operating the car park was taking photographs of vehicles & registrations, attempted to challenge him but he sloped off.
Decided to leave & go to the next MSA, I have been told of this practice and have even read about it on here but it seems much more widespread now. Won't be calling here in future.

I called in at Keele going home to Lancashire, so on the North side of the services. My son has cerebral palsy and needs his wheelchair, my first minor complaint came when parking in the disabled bays that there is no dropped kerb by each individual bay, I don't like my son going behind other parked cars if we can help it. It is a common complaint, frustrating but no deal breaker. However my son loves his Burger King chicken nuggets. Unbelievably there was a distinct lack of a lift to facilitate us to get to the shops above. I was and still am appalled at this. The staff were very apologetic saying it was because the building is too old and a lift would need to be placed on the motorway which obviously cannot happen. The staff went to get me a menu but there was none available and she brought back a nutritional guide which told us what they had but not the prices. We had to trust the staff member with my money and hope she brought back the right change. I have no complaints about her, she was as helpful as she could be. However is this in compliance with the DDA Act? Surely a lift can be put in even if it is in an annexe outside and comes up above the shops to a dull boring corridor before getting to KFC and Burger King. I am appalled. I feel like getting all my friends together who use wheelchairs to protest outside the entrance. My son was upset all the way home that he had been discriminated against.
This is not acceptable. I am not using this service station ever again and I am telling everyone I know why.

I am appalled that your service station does not have a lift to where the KFC fast food bar is, i stopped off at your service station on my way home from walsall back to halifax and was wanting to get something from KFC but due to the lack of a lift i was unable to, as a wheelchair user i think that this is a disgrace and unacceptable, its all well and good people from waitrose saying they can get some one to bring me my order but what's the point in that if i cannot see the menu and prices. you can afford to place two battery charger outlets for cars that run on batteries and not fuel, but cannot afford to place a lift.
i know you are going to come back with some rubbish about not been able to place a lift well if this is the case then you seriously need to look at moving KFC to the lower ground so that EVERYONE can visit and purchase food from them.

The issue regarding parking here and at other MSA is getting more serious, its time to get an e-petition going which I have tried without much success but 2 hours is not enough plus there needs to be proper regulations regarding Parking Enforcement.
That aside my last visit was good, facilities clean and staff friendly.

Keele services are a total waste of time, i paid to park in a so called safe area on the services at night and my vehicle has been hit by another wagon which then drove off, the services response was......its not serious offence so not willing to do anything!!!!!! Yes i paid for safe parking so where's the safe in that, don't under no circumstances park on here, knowing this comment won't make a difference to this place i will continue to fight this case as much as possible because the thousands of pounds worth of damage done to my vehicle won't reapir its self

This is a very tired and dilapidated service area that still manages to charge absolute premium rates for below standard service. There has been no significant investment on this site for years. It simply relies on the poor old motorist having to recharge their car with over priced fuel or recharge themselves with over priced food.
Do yourselves a favour and come off the motorway and find a better alternative.

In reference to the chap who had his car damaged, I have had my truck damaged at Keele, the spaces are far too narrow and on top of that what happens when a truck gets robbed in the night......no real and proper security, what the hell do we pay such a high parking fee for, even the food they offer us is not up to much...I could go on and on and I could do against most of the services in the UK...but I'll leave that for another day.

I stopped in the services, i parked my car in the middle of the car park, i used the toilets on my return to my car i found my car had been hit by a white vehicle, they damage the passenger side wing mirror and scrapped along the rear door denting the rear wheel arch.I rang up and asked if there were CCTV cameras covering the car park, only to be told that the CCTV only covers the entrance and exit slip roads and inside the buildings...... Could someone tell me what would they do if someone got attacked in the car park ?????? I find it very strange in this day and age that the car park is not covered by CCTV and it is not used as a deterant for crime

When I'm on the Bristol run this is now my regular MSA to take my break. By and large it is good. Always have pleasent service and food & tea is pretty good too.
No where is 100% perfect but that said the staff & outlets, in my experience, have always been very good.

Our visit to Keele services was disappointing due to the behaviour of a particular member of staff at KFC. A Jack was thoroughly unprofessional towards his fellow colleague Obah as we were arriving. This was an uncomfortable experience for customer and employee alike. Please address KFCs customer service and professionalism.

Stopped at Keele Southbound to use the baby changing facilities. The baby changing facilities were inside the disabled toilet, which is quite common.
The disabled toilet did not have a working door lock. While this is not a problem using the baby changing facilities it is totally unacceptable for a disabled person.
I could not see any member of services staff to report the problem to, should I have informed staff working in the shops?

I travel 350 miles up and down the M5 M6 most weekends, I always stop at Keele because it is near enough half way, and has a KFC. Their is no customer care at all, the toilets are always disgusting (especially the cubicles) As for KFC, I always have to use the self service computer screens because 50% of the time the person behind the till cannot understand my English accent.

Called in at Keele (Northbound) to use the toilet, and purchase petrol. Went to the car park first, as my need to use the loo was greater than my need to re-fuel. On leaving the car park I found it impossible to gain access to the petrol station without crossing a "No Entry" sign, or risk driving against the traffic flow. It seems that drivers must re-fuel before entering the car park, (although this is not publicised anywhere) so beware if you are very low on fuel, AND need the toilet! Get your priorities right. Or better still carry on to Sandbach, which is where I eventually went for my fuel.

I recently had to stop at Keele Services. I was with my 88 year old disabled mother. I was disgusted to find that not just the ladies toilets but the disabled toilet were so far away from the entrance. This caused a great deal of concern for both myself and my mother who walks very slowly with a frame. The disabled toilets should be at the entrance to the building not as far away as they could possibly be.

Desperate for work as an older man I did two hours as a night cleaner before walking out. Supposedly in cleaning you have red jcloths and red coided mops for contaminant areas (loos and loo floors) and blue for wash basins etc.
A little while into my first hour the men's urinals flooded. This is a plumbing problem not a cleaning problem but the manager seemed unable to analyse the fault.
The cleaners had a system for dealing with this known issue.
They fetched the floor cleaning machine and put its extraction hose into a urinal to suck in the overflow.
Then took the machine out to clean the restaurant floors.
The male cleaner of many years service issued himself one blue jcloth. He used it on the lavatory basins then cleaned the wash basins with it.
I delayed on site looking for the manager intending to empty a bucket of overflowing urine over his head then punch his lights out but I understand he hid up till I had left site.

I called at Keele services at 8.30 am. As I was washing my hands the (male)lavatory attendant altered inspection clock from 8 mins left until inspection to 45 without even entering the lavatory area. He could not possibly have seen how clean or dirty they were. As it was there was water all around the basin area and hot taps running water that could not be turned off. This man's lack of attention or pride in his work left me with a very poor impression of customer care and the facilities available there. What a shame - it wouldn't have taken him long to pop his head round and wipe a few basins and try to sort the taps out and report as faulty those he couldn't deal with. The lavatories themselves were clean enough, but that is not the point. If you are going to publicise frequent inspections, they that is what should be delivered.

The toilets seem to have a deep clean and were pleasent to use. Had a Tea which wasn't bad. From the lady that served me I understand there is to be a major refurbishment later in the year, it could do with an upgrade.
Some of the cluster of services on the Cheshire/Staffs M6 section are appalling but whilst Keele has its faults last couple of visits have been good

Very poor facilities, terrible range of food, mostly stodgy and fried - terrible value. Only plus is a large car park and a footbridge which is handy for leaving a car for meetings (although it's Ã‚Â£8 parking charge) Avoid otherwise.

BEWARE the coffee shop does not put lids on hot drinks...Went in th southbound side today and got a coffe and a tea the young man serving was to say the least miserable and just threw my coffee at me which then because it was too full minus the milk sloshed all over my hand and scalded me.I now have 2 massive blisters on my hand...not good when you then have to drive 120 miles

Overall not bad, haven't stopped here for sometime, toilets were clean and staff member that served me friendly.
Could do with an upgrade but that is true of so many MSA

I use the services on a regular basis and find that generally they are of a responable condition based on the daily footfall. However I was a little surprised to see the Loo of the Year Award!
The handryers are situated over radiators and the build up of dead skin, soap and bacteria is disgusting.
I would suggest that they are replaced immediately for a more hygenic method of hand drying (Dyson, Mitsubishi)based on the fact that the dryer draws air, heats and blows, and with the content of the raidator fins in their current condition, what it blows out!
This is not a new issue and one that you should be aware of, if not I question your house keeping policy and would suggest that if this has not been identified and a rectification plan already in place that your incumbent FM manager/company should be questioned robustly as this situation is unacceptable.
I would appreciate a response to this mail.

The toilets are always really dirty. The queues for KFC and Burger King are always way too long, mainly due to the slowness of the staff. Yesterday when I visited the shop on the Southbound side to pick up a sandwich there was a horrible noise audible from the entrance to the service station. It was a member of staff in the shop shamelessly murdering "Electric Dreams" at the top of her voice, over and over. Awful performance and awful service - customers were leaving the shop rather than have to listen to her.
... she looked like a sandwich person though.

Friendly Service and good food. My two fussy daughters (3 and 4 years) actually ate their (free!!) dinners; something they don't often do at home.

Just popped in for something to eat decided on a Burger King, was really busy and used the new self service point was really impressed with the speed and friendliness of service and quality of the food. The service station was clean and tidy and much improved on may last visit 6 months ago.

Northbound M&S services are fantastic. Nice and airy, great lake to wander round and feed the ducks. Good M&S food with the usual other assorted rubbish. Great for kids. I would recommend stopping here every time.

I thought Keele Service area was a disaster. Does everything go on a "go slow"in the evening. Coffee area very poor, M&S poorly stocked. I will avoid this one in the future.

South side service is excellent it is a well lighted welcoming environment iwth fast and friendly service (especially in the shop). North pritty much similar, although it has a darker environment. I would stop again.

I recently stopped at keele services and was very impressed with the cleanliness of the buildings and the facilities on offer.I bought some food from the burger king they have there, the food was nice and the service by David behind the counter was excellent. I reccomend keele to everyone.

I love stopping at Keele services. The staff are friendly, the food good and the facilities clean. Sometimes I even modify my route a little so I can stop there. I have to admit I prefer the northbound side, but southbound is certainly worth a visit.

I have just had the misfortune to stop at Keele North service station and have the most disgusting bacon sandwich I have had anywhere in the World.Two pieces of stale,dry,thick,processed bread, with no butter or Flora with two pieces of just about passable bacon. What a disaster. I only managed to eat the bacon, the bread was totally inedible. The price, nearly Â£3.00. Absolute daylight robbery. I certainly wont be stopping at service stations on any motorway to eat in the future.It will be worth getting off the motorway to find a lay-by cafe.
