Visited on a trip back from Scotland, food excellent, service good, all spoke great English, worth another visit

Gary Davies, 14 May 2012

visited this dump (which used to be our favourite) on friday, there was no hot food on the counter, the service seemed to be by eastern europeans who had limited languige skills. i picked a supposed toastie. this comprised 2 slices of white bread, a little cheese and 2 bits of tough tomato, this and acup of tea £7. 10/115 minutes later i had to go and get it after it was toasted. tables gubby. the last time i will darken there door. tebay from now on. what about local labour the way it was.

Visited on a quiet mid-afternoon last week. Fantastic views over the lake. Clean facilities and friendly customer-oriented staff. The food on the hot plate did look like it had been there some time, but no surprise since it was well after the normal lunch time and it was not a busy day.

I've visted Killington Lake on several occasions, but the last time was awful. On friday night 15th Oct we stopped hoping for a meal, no jacket potatoes,no mash potatoes to go with sausages and it looked dried up, this was at 7.45pm. Whilst we were havig a drink the cleaner were vacuming very near where people were eating, they could have sectioned it and waited while everybody finished eating.I'm sorry, but I'll not hurry back.

M Hewitt why not voice your opinions to the customer service team that i am sure could be found on thier web site www.roadchef.com.
These people need to be brought to book about the standards us public have to endure the more people complain the chances are they may do something about it.

On the way down south from Scotland at 12 pm on friday 24/09/10 we stop at Killington lake. My hushand and myself both used the toilet facilites and we appalled at how dirt they were. It looked as if they hadn't been cleaned for at least a week or so. The toilets seat and sistern were all dirty. The sinks were covered in dirt and there was no soap. I was really disappointed there didn't seem to be anyone to complain too for that reason on my next trip to England I will not be stopping at this service station.

Pleasant, clean, small, quieter than most services, easy to park. Friendly staff.

One of the nicest service stations in the UK. Only downside was when we stopped for a picnic beside the lake, the benches were in a terrible condition and nearly falling apart. Everything else is excellent.

i once worked in the travel inn situated next to the servces but recently visited en route to a football match, top quality services with the fastest cleaning of tables you'll ever see!!!!!

I really like this service station, coming back from Scotland, stopped for a coffee and looking over the lake. Stunning. Shame the services is only on the southbound side.

Lovely views, and nice picnic and indoor seating areas. But best if you have your own food with you as service is not the best. Toilets were the same as in any services, clean but a bit whiffy!

I stopped at the Killington Lake Service
station on Saturday 14th June 2008.
We had to use the handicapped toilet as my husband is in a wheelchair. The toilet was filthy with excrement,I had to clean the toilet before he could use it.As a result of this I have had gastroenteritis.

Lovely location. Stopped here on the way home from scotland for a picnic. Service & food was ok.

Callum, 19 November 2006

Stoppedn here after reading on this site how good it was. The views are certainly good bu the food and service was really only average. The gents toilet area was not very clean either.

A very good MSA with a good lake. If you're in this part of the country you should use this MSA.

Gavin, 19 November 2005

This must be the most scenic services of any UK motorway ! A nice place to stop and relax.
