I've just purchased a full English breakfast from costing 7.99 which I think is expensive but need to eat. I was a bit shocked to find out that it didn't come with a tea or coffee option and if I wanted a drink with my breakfast it cost me a further 2.35. I understand services are expensive I do but basically I think it's a big scam really. Taking advantage of people who have to travel up and down the motorway every day. Sort it out edc most appreciated.

Knutsford services southbound dreadful. Stopped there yesterday at about 8pm. Three steps up to loos so no good if you are disabled. Two loos blocked, one to almost overflowing. Costa Coffee overpriced, yet tasted like dish water. Girl who made it obviously not Costa trained. Restaurant /sitting area like a rubbish tip. Every table covered with rubbish, and you could not blame customers as the bin was full to overflowing. Certainly will never stop there again.

Lovely lovely staff. Thanks for the great coffee and the genuine smile.

Went to Costa Coffee at Knutsford Services on Friday. Fancied a chocolate cake until I saw flies crawling all over them!

Called in today. All was good until I came down in the lift! I couldn't get out!!! Yes, I know you have to keep your hand on the button until it stops.....I did all that. My husband was on the outside pulling and I was pushing, but it was jammed at the top. I'm disabled, so the only thing to do was to go back upin the lift and walk down the stairs with my husband's help. We reported it to a guy on the Costa bar as he was the nearest. He didn't seem at all bothered and said it was a funny lift. All I can say is I hope no one disabled is on their own as this would be a very scary experience!! Why don't they get it fixed????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a sad looking services, looks as if it is being run down to close and that no-one cares for it. The Costa was a disgrace and I have written to them about their staff at this site. Are you awaiting an upgrade? You certainly need one.
Teresa, Tue 17 Feb 2015
Burger King is an absolute joke in this place....complete rip off. I expect to pay more at a services but for what looked like a 99p deal Rodeo and about 15 chips with smallest dab of BBQ sauce near £7. I brought it back and asked for some sauce to be put on you would have thought I had told a young child that Santa doesn't exist (but he does kids). The look from the girl was as if she had practiced that scowl or has done it alot.( I think the latter). Then somehow it took nearly 10mins for sauce to be put on. Staff need a poker somewhere to quicken things up or somebody that actually cares about good customer service. í ½í¸ˆHowever staff at Travelodge very helpful and politeí ½í¸!!!

Dear All,Can I please remind you that should you need assistance or help whilst at Knutsford please come into the building and ask for the duty manager. Alternatively you could phone them on 07961 034838.
Paul. I really am sorry that you came face to face with a rat at the services. We do have pest control naturally as do all Moto service areas. Whilst unpleasant, statistics do say you are on average always within 3 metres of a rat but I can appreciate this was unpleasant. Our scheduled pest control visits have been in since and we were not found to be homing any of our furry friends. If you want to discuss further just contact me at julie.sturgess@moto-way.co.uk and provide a number for me to call you.
Ms Done. I would like to talk to you about your food quality concerns so just email me so we can sort this one out.
Please everyone be careful on the roads now the winter weather has hit. Please note the duty manager number above and also my email and let us know directly if we can help you.
Many thanks,
Julie Sturgess.

Horrific experience in the car park mid afternoon... after finishing my sandwich was about to throw the contents in the bin... when out jumped a massive rat.... horrible.... if you've not got pest control active on site now, you really need to do it....

Apologies for the late grumble. We were waiting for a coach pick-up at around 7:30am on Wednesday 15th October and my husband and I were hungry for some breakfast. As we just wanted something quick to eat on the coach we got 2 bacon batches and a tea and a coffee from the West Cornwall Pasty kiosk. The bacon batches were inedible (dry bread buns and the bacon was rock hard), the coffee was stewed and bitter.
Ms Done, Wed 3 Dec 2014
Hi All,
Apologies for not answering some of queries but I have had a spell out of the business. If anybody wants to know if we have any lost property, please call the site number on 01565 634167 and we will do our best to help you. Mr Wilkinson, my apologies that you were asked to cover the postage on this occassion, it does seem a little poor. We do however ask for the postage where there are special instructions such as insurance, recorded delivery or if its quite large etc. I hope that makes sense?
Ms Mynett, for motor homes it is the same charge as cars for overnight parking. I hope you continue to enjoy the freedom of the open road!!!
Mr Quimble, I cannot apologise enough for your experience. The make up sales persons do not work for Moto but do pay to sell their product on our site for a specific period of time. I will feed your comments back to the commmercial team as your experience is less than acceptable. I will pass your burger king concerns onto the burger king manager also.

My fiancée and I pulled into knutsford service station to pick up my future mother in law, everything seemed ok from the outside,it all went downhill as soon as we walked in, we had just stepped through the door when we were greeted by a make up salesman attempting to sell my fiancée make up, I felt a little insulted as she had made quite the effort today and nobody had recoiled in horror at her face, so a little bemused as to why he thought she needed some, we said no and carried on as my fiancée was hungry and I desperately needed the bathroom, the toilet I chose wasn't flushed and after several attempts it still wouldn't disappear so I had to change cubicles, this one had urine on the seat so I decided to just wait until I got home , I left the bathroom and met my fiancée in the Burger King queue, it seemed like she hadn't moved , the staff seemed uninterested and showed no signs of breaking a sweat, after 20mins in the queue we eventually got served and charged an amazing amount of money for fast food, after just 7 mins we had the food in our hand and moved over to the the seating area , half the tables were empty and the rest had the previous persons food wrappers left on the table and bits of leftover food , as I looked around everyone looked miserable apart from the young couple that we're staring into each other's eyes and oblivious to the used condom under their table , we finished our food as quick as we could and decided to wait in the car , we left and managed to dodge the make up salesman who was trying to sell to and older lady, personally I thought it would take a lot more than make up to sort her face out , on the stroll back we saw a dog having a clear out on the grass , it wasn't the best experience I'd had a service station , we drove round to the petrol station and waited there , as soon as the coach we were waiting for showed up , we loaded the car and left ............. Never to return!

I left a small security key fob at the services. Rang them to see if they would post this to me at 2nd class postage (the fob is the weight and size of a 10p piece) Was told I have to post them the postage cost before they can post this 2nd class. Good customer services over the cost of around 40p
Will not be going here again!!

I called into Knutsford Northbound first thing on Monday morning to fuel up my car for the week. I was greeted by a polite young lady who was going about her business on the petrol pumps. I filled up as normal and went into the store. I usually get a coffee but there was a queue for the machine so I didn't bother. I then went to the till area to be met by a very disgruntled and grumpy young girl. I didn't get a good morning or hello. I was asked simply "what pump" . I gave the cashier my card who snatched it from me and slammed it into the card reader. She said "pin" "mileage". Once I had finished paying I felt quite offended that I just walked off after I had paid. I then heard "you're welcome" shouted at the top of her voice. I felt that was aimed at me as I had just left the till area. She for 1. Doesn't have any customer service skills and 2. Doesn't look like she can be bothered to be working there. And for the 5 star customer service slogan I saw on a badge she was wearing she probably gave 1* customer service and I personally think she shouldn't even be allowed to wear such a badge

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff that helped me on Bank Holiday Monday. I collapsed in the ladies toilets after having a Crohn's attack & blacked out, my 9 year old Daughter was with me & the staff reacted quickly calking an ambulance & taking my Daughter to find my partner. There was a lady in particular who attended to me & l felt safe in her care so special thanks to her. I went to Crewe hospital in which l was given the medication l needed. I am home now & really wanted to say thank you. Also there were two young ladies that initially went for help & they spoke to my Daughter so if they view this then a huge thank you to them to :)

Dear Mr Hilton. Officially it is not possible to get from one side of the road to the other at Knutsford. However, as we have a travelodge only on one side we need to allow our guests to get to and from both carriageways. This is achieved via slip roads thats access Northwich road that runs between both Knutsford northbound and Southbound. Also for DDA reasons guests nned to be able to access both sides. But, the access is not classed as a through road.
Mr Smith, I'm sorry to hear you had trouble with receiving the right order. please feel free to email me directly at julie.sturgess@moto-way.co.uk with any details and I'll investigate. To all our guests please feel free to email me directly at this email.

Hi Marion. I am the area manager that covers Knutsford services. The car parking and way fines are administered are by a third party. As the fines are generated by an ANPR automatic number plate recognition camera system, the only way to prevent a fine from being generated is paying for parking in the first instance and then having that credited back by CPP who are the third party. It is their policy and ours that on the production of the AA, RAC, Green flag report that the parking charge is refunded. I believe this information was given to your daughter at the time. I am more than happy to assist in doing this with you and if I can be of any help to you please just contact me at Knutsford site,
Julie Sturgess, Thu 3 Apr 2014
Not impressed. My Daughter & Partner had a problem with their car whilst travelling from Blackpool to Portishead this afternoon. They need up having to call the AA as the car was not drive able. They have had to be relayed home. Why did they have to pay a parking charge. They were only there for a couple of hours.

I was in Knutsford services this morning as I am quite often. There was a foreign driver who had stuff stolen and was in a right state. The manager on the bridge found a staff member who spoke his language, calmed him down, phoned the police and translated everything when the police came. They were lovely with him. Who else provides that kind of service? In these times were where there seems little care for others it was fantastic to see real compassion and a willingness to help. Well done you guys and I'll see you again soon.

Hi, I am the area manager that covers Knutsford services. I'm disappointed that some of our customers seem to have had a poor experience when they have visited. I would always welcome the opportunity to help any guests with concerns and if you contact me at Julie.sturgess@moto-way.co.uk I'll do my upmost to resolve any points you may have for me. For all the guests who have positive comments, thank you, it does make a difference to the staff who work here.
Julie, Wed 19 Mar 2014
I use this services quite often. It's come on leaps and bounds in the last few years and whilst most people have a negative view of motorway services in general I find the staff generally well humoured and polite especially the southbound Costa. Although, the Costa may well lose my custom as they have been building a Gregg's and have refurbished the entire area on the bridge and I might have to have my bacon butty with a view on the M6 in future ladies.
Jim, Wed 19 Mar 2014
Hi I recently got lost on the m6 omg it's huge and inadvertently ended up at knutsford services. I was in a bit of a tis as my gaffer was goin mental as he thought I was in Leeds god knows how it ended up there but anyway that's another story . I found the staff very friendly as I was directed in polish how I would have to go all the way to jct 18 to get home still haven't got the hang of these motorways . To add to it my left foot is playing up and have to drag it a bit at the mo so I parked in the disabled spot. The convinces were brill and the toilets smashing all in all I loved my visit to touts ford and have decided to take the family for a short break next Sunday All the best my motorway buddies Wozza aka Knutsford as I am now known by my boss
Warren edwards, Wed 19 Mar 2014
Good grief. It is fair to say that my expectations of motorway services are practically none but Knutsford failed to meet even these low expectations. I stopped halfway on a five hour drive home for a bite to eat at 6:15 in the evening only to find that almost everything at EDC was sold out aside from some sorry looking pies and a very dried out chicken breast, how these crimes against food are allowed to continue is a mystery to me but in future I will go hungry rather than eat in one of these hell holes. Utterly disgraceful.
Jernny Slack, Wed 12 Mar 2014
Stopped on the south bound site last Friday, feeling unwell and needed my asthma inhaler. Decided to have a hot drink.
In the past I have steered clear of Knutsford owing to the traffic management company being a tad over zealous! However, I needed to stop and have to say I was impressed with what I saw and the service received. There are few MSA's on the whole motorway network that are perfect and many MSA staff are poorly paid and under enormous pressure, however, I want to thank the 2 staff members that helped me last Friday, your concern was appreciated and your customer service was marvellous
Gary Farrimond, Sun 16 Feb 2014
After a long day getting up north because of the weather. I was on my way back from Blackpool down the m6 and wanted dinner about 6pm. So I stopped off at knotsford services. I drive up and down the country most weeks. I went in for dinner and the pies looked like they had been there all day, same as the chicken. So I thought that I would order fish&chips they didn't have any, So I ordered a brunch. It took an age to come out, and when it did it was cold and the sausages were not edable. It was the worst meal ive ever had at a services. Don't stop there for a meal.

Have read the comments as to the quality of this area - AND TOTALLY AGREE. My wife and I had the worst breakfast meal ever in May - but we were hungry so we ate it. More fool us.Wrote to the General manager in May complaining and asking that he take some action in order to limit the damage to the service station's reputation. Here were are in November and still waiting for a reply. I think that hell will freeze over first.
John swarbrick, Wed 13 Nov 2013
This service area is the worst I have ever visited. I used to do regular 'Mystery shopping' at 2 other service areas on the M5 so feel well qualified to comment. Our visit to the Northbound Service area was at a quiet time of day 9.19am on a Friday. The staff were unfriendly and inattentive - the greeting from the lady server was 'alright' my wife replied 'Yes thanks' which seemed to be the signal for her to walk away. when eventually the 2 staff decided to serve us the 2 Danish pastries were fat laden and indigestible and the coffee's only saving grace was that it was hot.The décor was straight from the 1960's and the who place was depressing and uncared for.The toilets smelt awful, were grubby and uncared for. What made it all worse was the fact that there were very few customers in the place, what a surprise!Perhaps the management need to go a short distance to Keele and make a comparison. Even better go to Tebay near Carlisle. We will certainly avoid Moto Services in future.
Les Abbott, Mon 28 Oct 2013
We had the misfortune of stopping at the north bound services on Friday 6 September. We could not get what we wanted at the north side, so went via the bridge to the south side. The queue for burger king was at least 10 people deep and moving very slowly, it soon became apparent that only one young man was serving, and give him his due he was serving multiple people at one time, but was making slow progress as the outlet was woefully understaffed. As we were travelling by coach, we had to take out food back to the coach with us, as there was no time to eat it. At motorway services is it to much to ask for better service. There is also a distinct lack of toilet facilities north bound, also adding to the delay.
Catherine Crombie, Mon 9 Sep 2013
Called at 1.30pm 21st August. Service in EDC was appalling. Of the two working one seemed more interested in cashing up than serving. The other was spending an horrendous amount of time making two coffees. The tables were littered with rubbish and staff were stock taking !!!! Do you people have nny idea of how to run busy catering ???? Sorry it will not be busy because it is so poor. Hopelessly out of date, scruffy and very expensive as well. Knock it down and start again.
Alistair Humphreys, Thu 22 Aug 2013
Booked travelodge there, that's fine however the rest it's the pits! No meal after 8.30pm! Forget what they tell you. Don't cross over the bridge, even if the side the travelodge is on (north) is not as clean as a pig sty is because they will lock the bridge dead on 9pm without telling you and if no staff around your only option is to cross the motorway it's self!!!!!! You can not stay more than 2 hours unless you are booked into the travelodge and hgvs are most unwelcome. In fact I can honestly I would not be returning to this so called service station, or any moto so called services because they apear to have lost the meaning of the word services!!! They are nothing more than a take fast food out let and do not encourage any drivers to stop and rest! This not the staff fault, they don't want this kind of operation. They want PROPER services. This is entirely down moto who lost their way and soon to be their business due lack customers

t, Sun 21 Jul 2013
Very bad services, not what I expected as a Moto. Only one Marks and Spencer and main Costa between both sides meaning lots of queues. 6 tills at M&S and only 2 manned and this is at 1pm at a really busy time for lunch. Burger King was horrible, waited in a queue for 15 minutes and then once I got what I ordered all the tables were filthy and had trays on them. Only 2 staff working at a really busy time. They couldn't even give me a tray to put my food on either. It was the same all over the services, very busy and not enough staff working! Very appalling and I won't be back there!
Anonymous, Sat 20 Jul 2013
Pulled in for a break, sandwich and drink but the site is dead. Staff is either not visible or there is none. After about 10 minutes one of the staff appeared and explained they are short on staff (not only today) and they are requested to work unsocial hours (overtime not paid) some of them work 50 hours/week and are paid 37 as contracted. So they can hardly cover their breaks and going to toilet is christmas for them. That's why there is only 1 member of staff in some of the shops (sometimes none). This will be reported to competent people and organizations.
maz, Tue 9 Apr 2013
This is like hell on earth, not only are the road markings in the car park completely useless, the experience I had in the WHSmiths was painfully slow. If you want to stop for a break, relax and get back on the road refreshed then this is certainly not the place, I hope they close it!
Clare, Wed 3 Apr 2013
One till open at M&S with a queue of 20 people. When 2 away from front of queue till failed. Operator did not have a sign-on to open another till. Manager called who fiddled for 10 mins to no avail. Gave up waiting. My wife went to EDC for a soup. Three staff behind counter ignoring customers and argued as to who was going to provide the soup. Staff member on till ingoring her when she tried to pay. Of the 10 or so tables for eating, 8 were covered with dirty dishes and trays from previous customers. I went to EDC for a cup of tea. Ignored by staff until I had to speak loudly and was told no I couldn't have any tea but had to go to Costa(which was OK). Later after queueing in WHSmith for some time the one assistant said "just a minute" and left the shop. Most appalling service EVER!
P and N Davison, Fri 8 Mar 2013
I pull into the services every night for my break. I fill up my truck an have a coffee. The machine tonight was only dispensing milk. At the cost of £2.75 the assistant made me one from the counter an then charged me £3.30. I'm disgusted. I will not use these services anymore, disgraceful. I have informed the rest of our drivers to steer clear.

my husband had to stay in manchester last night, on his way home he was sick and had temp so he called to get some paracetamol for the services , they are 20p to 50p a pack anywhere else, and you have the cheek to charge £4.80, you should be reported for such outrage for taking advantage of people who are sick.i-am a nurse so i see sick people every day and this has disgusted me mrs boughey-sandel

I really have been nowhere as bad as this. There were no mince pies at all (despite being so close to Christmas), the torches were sold out (cant think why) and there was a bus load of directors who had bought all the chairs.
I demand an explanation!
Paul Anderson, Fri 21 Dec 2012
After travelling north bound for 4 hours me and the boyfriend decided to stop off to get a bite to eat. We didn't expect much from a service station as previous ones we have visited were crap. What we got was totally opposite, great food choices that looked really fresh and appetising in the EDC, on the bridge.THe manager in the Eat and Drink, Paul I think his name was, was really polite and friendly, we were chatting for quite a while. All these bad comments don't do this place justice, hardworking staff who the extra mile for customers.
Mark Parker, Fri 7 Dec 2012
I arrived at the north-bound side late in the evening, having been driving for 3 hours. All I wanted was a coffee and a chance to relax for a bit in a comfortable chair. What I got was both coffee shops' staff telling me (perfectly politely) that they were closed for 20 minutes to cash up for the night. I got a not-very-hot coffee from a machine in W.H.Smith and a hard, uncomfortable chair at a table outside the closed-off seating area. Surely it is not beyond the capabilities of the management to organise cashing-up times so that there is always a facility available to travellers. "Service area" is a serious misnomer.
P. Nicholls, Edinburgh, Sun 25 Nov 2012
My daughter suffers from a disability which I am sad to say the Costa staff found very amusing, which I find appalling. During my time there I would've like to be served by someone English because I had trouble understanding what the job robbing foreigners were saying, in all honesty I wouldn't let my dog take a poo there. I felt violated walking in there and left leaving completely distraught, on behalf of me and my daughter (if she could say something) I wouldn't recommend anyone going to this service station.

i would like to thank the staff of Burger King (South Bound) for there excellent customer service, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful espically the two on the tills ( Tom and Lauren ) they were fast and friendly and helped whenever a customer had a querie to the best of there abilty! fined ninety quid for falling asleep in my car the notice said I had overstayed 35 mins this was 3 months ago I had a parking notice with a nice picture of my car entering knutsford services and leaving knutsford the good news is you do not have to pay In theory, they can pursue it legally, but only for the actual losses (e.g. 1 hour's parking, a quid or two), and anyway, only the landowner can do that, not Parking Eye. So you are safe to ignore it completely. You'd get loads of warning and opportunity to avoid damage to your credit rating, i.e. they'd need to actually take you to court (which they won't do), win (which they wouldn't even if they tried), and you would have to fail to pay up within 28 days. It's just not going to happen. Parking Eye take me to court bring it on and Knutsford services you should know better. see this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

my overall experience at Moto Knutsford was extremely pleasant. I paid quite a high price for my Costa Coffee but the brilliant service made up for that. I was served by two wonderful young girls, one with Blonde hair and one with Dark Brown both long but cleanly tied back. Although very young they were polite and efficient and I would certainly stop here again, however prices way to high but lovely staff at Costa. Thanks girls!

It was lunch time and I went to WH Smith and BK both shops were busy but polite and helpful, even went and found me a table and high chair,. Give them a break!!

Handed in my notice today. A few things:
- Don't visit, it's a severe health hazard (can't understand how it's still open)- understaffed, under-payed, overworked and overlooked- Managers (excluding BP north) are two faced, condescending, rude and obnoxious. If you ask for help, don't expect much.- Illegal working conditions.- Some products have around a 300% mark up from there original cost.
Off topic:- The general public, you are disgusting.- Learn some manners and grow up, your immaturity is astounding. - Get down off your high horse, your opinion is not at all important to a cashier. Take it out on them, the less they will be inclined to help.- Be compassionate, how would you like it if I offended you? It's not the cashiers fault they're on shift alone and it's busy!- Just because somebody works for a poorly run business does not mean that they instantly amount to nothing. A large amount of staff are students that need money, myself included.
Awful business, avoid working or visiting. These places should be run by individual companies, not Moto.

I paid £20 to park a HGV at this site south-bound and after paying found the showers and all wash facilities were freezing cold. Plus the restaurant was cold and drafty, I had to eat with my overcoat on just to stay warm. The staff were rude and boarish about the whole issue of the hot water. The prevailing attitude seemed to be "it's not my/our fault!"
I can't believe that although all the staff seemed aware of the hot water/heating problems no-one on the entire site thought to inform the drivers before they paid £13 or £20 for parking. At least, if they pre-informed then drivers could make a desicion about whether to stay and pay or leave and find parking at Keele or Stafford.
All in all I dont think I'll be parking at this site in the future and if they had any decency then I could at least expect a refund for the parking charge but the staff just weren't interested. They'd taken my money and thereafter couldn't give a monkey's!

Pulled into car park at 2355 virtually asleep at the wheel. Went straight to sleep in car seat and unfortunatly slept for five hours.awoke, had coffee and left on my journy. Guess what I just got a £60 fine for not buying a parking ticket. I did not even know I had to.I suppose there must be a sign somewhere but when your knackered and just want some kip the last thing on your mind is parking fees. Police say driving tired kills, see moterway signs.. services say drive knackered and kill or pay.Thought this was a caring country. Well Boll----ks is it.

Although the ladies toilets are generally clean, they are in need of updating and upgrading. The floor and tiles are old and grubby, the flower tub decorations at the wash basin height sadly have a fine film of mould growing.Staff have obviously done their best with the facilities but major revamp due soon please.

Called in on my way back from Scotland with a caravan in tow. Cars and vans were parked in the caravan area which is signposted to but when you get there not easily identifiable. Could do with better signage i.e painted lettering on the ground which is not obscured when vehicles are parked.Toilets and shop Ok.

Stopped here travelling back from the Lakes. Got my food from the Burger King, was a bit pricey, but received a good service, would stop here again

Excellent services
John Taylor, Mon 9 Jul 2012
I have worked here for just under a year and still do. I find the place revolting and would advise people to stop anywhere but here. If you need to purchase petrol I would suggest an ESSO garage just off to the left at junction 19, if you want to purchase food then there is a Little Chef and a lovely pub called The Windmill, again just off junction 19.
Many people complain about prices and customer services, I must say I do not blame them. I think that people should know however that the reason for this is not because staff simply do not care, it's actually due to the fact that the management have absolutely no time for the staff. Furthermore, cost cutting measures mean that a lot of the time we are grossly understaffed and are not equipped with enough training or resources to provide even a satisfactory service. As somebody that works in an entry level position, I often encounter complaints from customers and I try my best to resolve any problems. This can sometimes be hard as I have absolutely no say in how the business is run and so many of the problems are repeatedly complained about but are never seen to.
As a result of having no real training and too much to do, almost everybody that works at the services gets placed under a great amount of stress on a daily basis. This may appear as though we do not want your custom when actually we are just extremely hard pressed for time, resources and training which in turn causes us to become anxious.
Basically, just don't use the services unless you really have to and if you do then expect staff to not be so welcoming. (Having said that I am a delight whilst on shift!)

I visited the services on my way to Germany. The staff were very polite and helpful in all the shops we visited. I do feel that there are many HAPPY customers but we don't have time or the presence to comment. Keep those smiles on your faces as I call often. Thank you

Hi I stopped at your services a few weeks back while travelling down the M6, Upon entry to the services i was greeting by two of your male staff members kissing each other and playfighting! One wearing a black shirt and the other wearing a white striped shirt, When inside i went to the M&S which looked like a closing down sale and there was 3 staff members stood behind the till chatting.. (one of whom was the guy who id seen outside earlier in the striped shirt.. I proceeded to buy a sandwich and a drink which was nice, but guess what.. when i arrived at the till the 3 staff members had dissapeared !! Suprise... I wanted to get my trumpet out and start playing the great escape theme..

This is a review of (Southern Dick Turpins) " At least Dick Turpin wore a mask when he robbed folk" all that can be said about this place!!
Had two Breakfast meals £11.00 pounds each it was totally disgusting and couldnt even be classed as edible!! to be frank "a dying dog wouldnt have eaten it!!" to top it off you didnt even get a drink or a slice of toast with it???? unreal!! Fawlty Towers would give better service!! the staff were like untrained monkeys who didnt give a dam about service or if the food was good disgrace!! all we can say is dont bother wasting your money at this place!! left feeling sick and unsatisfied!!
Shape up your staff and standards people at prices like that it should be lovely !!! TAKE NOTE!!

I haven't stopped at this service for quite a while and i have to say i was really disappointed. They simply didn't seem to want my custom. First of all i went to get spmething to eat and waited at the hotplate but no one was in attendance the cashier said she had gone to get some change, so i gave the benefit of the doubt but after waiting 10mins i gave up. I then went to WH Smith to buy a paper and again no one was in attendance by this time quite a queue had built up and again myself and other customers had to leave our stuff and give up. Finally the toilets were shabby and untidy. How do these businesses survive ?????
Lee Evans, Tue 24 Apr 2012
Stopped to take a comfort break on the northbound site. haven't stopped here for sometime, however, the toilets where very clean and fresh.
On returing to my vehicle I became aware of 2 men on the verge taking photographs of parked vehicles. Seems they were employees of a car clamping operation engaged by the company that runs the car park. Not sure of the legality of this but thought I would post on here to warn people.

I worked at knutsford services for several months, and as an employee i would NOT reccommend anyone to attend this services. The things I seen whilst working among the resturant is discusting! The attitude that some of the collegues had, is discraceful! The prices are discusting, whilst working there the amount of customers that came and complained to myself about the prices was unbelieveable, I understand its a service station as i worked there myself but it is stil discraceful. Very un-hygenic! I do not recommend anyone to go to the services, especially not EDC resturant. I had an incident with bacon fat whilst on shift and it took my manager 1 hour to get me to a first aider, my eye was swollen and the manager was not bothered at all, he was more bothered about his customers being satisfied than his employee. This is not what i want when i go to work, that could of really injured me! It is discusting!

Lovely site lovely staff the man in the edc restaurant was most helpful his name was roger excellent tikka which made me from fresh chicken in the back of the restaurant was very tasty!! And not just the food! Get this guy on masterchef although he wouldn't tell me his ingredients he used to make his fresh tikka will be back now everytime I pass! Thankyou for my truely delicious bargain food huge portion size !! See U soon roger and everybody at Knutsford.

On Tuesday 6 December i Called in for breakfast. After waiting for an age to be served i looked through the service hatch into the kitchen area to see a member of staff (with bare hands) handling raw bacon onto a grill.
As she walked around into the service area i watched her wipe her hands on her pinny...... .I asked for 2 pieces of toast. To my absolute horror she did not wash her hands but proceeded to take bread from a packet and place it on the toaster. When i challenged her she replied "Ive wiped my hands" !!!! yes on your bloody pinny without washing them first!!!! needles to say i walked out. it was only later i thought i should have asked to speak to the manager,
Surely hand washing is the very basic of food hygiene, even more so after handling raw meat.
This service station is under staffed and dirty. Do not use.

Honest to god. I thought i'd been transported back to 1973. I've seen squat toilets in Arabia more hygenic than this place. Seriously.I'm not a whiner and will always cut people slack....but even if god himself rested on Sunday, he refused to stop here!Avoid. really. just avoid.Carry on a bit. It's an absolute hovel. Must be one of the most dispiriting places in the world to work too.
Lee, Sat 12 Nov 2011
This place needs a serious overhaul. From the broken front door, to the filthy gents toilets, which were swimming in urine, with many unflushed toilets and no soap in the dispensers. Nauseating. This is Britain, 2011. Sort it out. It is a complete health hazard. In addition, the BK "restaurant", a rip-off joint in which the food is only just edible, if it is warm, was understaffed, resulting in an unacceptable waiting time, bad queues, and no clear tables. The problem was so bad that both food bins were overflowing on to the floor, there was food and litter on all the tables and underneath them, and there were bluebottles buzzing around our heads as we ate. In October. Oh, and a member of staff was asleep on the decking outside the window. A disgraceful venue, I will never stop here again and I will ensure all my acquaintances know of this experience. Hopefully you will shut down and spare the public this disgusting parody of a service station.
Robert, Sat 29 Oct 2011
We made the grave mistake of thinking it would be possible to get a decent, hot evening meal at this pathetic excuse for a service station. Two Burger King outlets (I would have thought one was too many) with their repulsive food and a place called E.D.C. (it even sounds like a stomach complaint) which, apart from chicken curry with a nasty smell, was selling chips and junk ... except for fish which, wait for it, was not available!!!! What a joke! This was on the day that the government was backing off from regulating the public's intake of unhealthy food and exhorting people to take this responsibility for themselves. Fat chance of that with choices like this. Will anyone do anything about this? There should be a health warning sign at the entrance to this service station "Purchasing and consuming the hot food from this service station can seriously damage your health".We ended up getting sandwiches from M&S which were fine but not what we wanted.
Michael, Sun 16 Oct 2011
I have just received in the post a lovely fine from Knutsford Services. Thankyou very much, for allowing me to spend my money in the services for a business meeting in Costa Coffee.
My clients were late due to a traffic jam, so despite me trying to give my business to someone I have been punished with a fine of £50.00
This is frankly robbery!! If I can prove I had spent money in the service station that day then I should not have to pay a single penny as I was clearly working within the goodwill of the service station.
At no time was I given the option to pay a lesser amount by anyone at the services.
Frankly this is no more than a scam and yet again these parking fines companies are shown to be the money grabbing cowboys that they really are!!
A DISCGRACE!!!

I would just like take this opertunity to say a bigThanks to all the pleasant staff at knutsford servicesFrom the nice food to the immaculate showers and facilities. I stop here regular and notice one guy in perticular who i now know to be humberto, I found him to be very helpfull and pleasant, I see him doing numerous jobs from cleaning showers to tidying the truck stop.I really do not understand where the negative comments are coming from as I find no faults at all. Many thanks. Irish ryan

Made the mistake of falling asleep in Knutsford services car park. Cost me 50 quid. Damn disgrace! Car park only half full anyway. Hardly surprisng if this is the reward for using the services right enough. Pitty the services didn't have as efficient a system to record who is a paying customer or not. May be then I could have got the £15 fine instead of the £50.
NEVER AGAIN!
J Hardie, Thu 11 Aug 2011
Last week stopped at Knutsford Services at 0600 hrs as I have done for many years. Long journey, very tired. Fell asleep. Woke up. Went for the usual very expensive below average breakfast. Back to car. Drove off.
Woke up this morning. £50 parking fine on the mat! ( Oh, and a £1.50 card payment cost as well from their repulsive henchmen, CP Plus ltd, when you try to pay. ) They, very kindly, would have reduced the fine to £15 if I had kept the ill served breakfast receipt.... CIVIL OF EM!....as, "it is not our intention to charge Moto customers" ,they say.... THATS A FUNNY ONE OLD LOVES! Dick Turpin was hung at York Race Coarse for this type of behaviour. Seems Highway Robbery is perfectly legal now. Most expensive sleep and breaky I've ever had!
Try reducing the ammount of signage on your premises then PAYING CUSTOMERS may notice the important notices. Like, "stand and deliver." etc.
KNUTS TO KNUTSFORD!!!! and CP Plus ltd.

Stopped off heading North last Thursday to use the facilities. I was surprised how small the services inside actually were. When using the toilet the entrance was only big enough for one person to get through at a time. Also was not impressed with the staff at WHSmith who seemed to disappear when the queue was building up. 10 minutes to purhcase a drink. Will avoid next time.
JB, Mon 25 Jul 2011
On The 24th July 2011 i visited Knutsford services.I find it a practical place to stop and use the facilities. There is no such thing as the perfect site but i find it operates to an acceptable standard.
To those who feel unfairly treated by the parking issues i would ask you to realise the parking areas is nothing to do with the services itself. It is privately owned just like many parking spaces in our town and cities - no dofferent than parking at say for example the trafford centre or liverpool docks - there are rules so try checking them out so you know what to expect.
On this particular day i visited the services sadly there was a major accident on the M6 just a few hundred yards or so past the services exit.Traffic had been stodd for at least half an hour before i decided to head for the exit sliproad.
Having driven as far as i could up the exit sliproad i parked up and simply waited until this awful incident had been dealt with. All the traffic at this time waiting to move for about 2 hours or so were the luckiest people in that place.
As i sat there and saw all sorts of emergency vehicles use the hard shoulder to reach the injured i thanked god i was not one of the injured or worse killed just a short distance along the motorway.
In the grand scheme of things i think and indeed i know for a fact i would accept a parking ticket or a even a clamp versus what fate those poor people in the accident found themselves in.
The point?be grateful for what you have, dont drive stupidly, more consideration and less driving like you own the road can saves lives including yours and mine.the price of a ticket??? what price your life !Drive safely people and may you never end up like those on the m6 did.
ps......my mum was with me in the car - july 24th is her birthday

Hi Went to this service station on saturday 16th July 2011 and would not go back. Asked the guy behind the counter what kind of fish it was they sold. Said he didn't know. The other guy said I think its cod.So the first guy said its cod. Surely they should know if they work there. Ordered meals and was charged £2.30 for a coke (£4.60 for 2) These drinks are advertised as being 99p each with your meal. Had to point it out to the guy who served me. Asked for vinegar for my chips only to be told that they don't do vinegar. Sell chips and don't do vinegar. First I've heard that one. Well done to the worker who got us some vinegar from Burger King. To cap it all they had run out of napkins and were offering people bits from a roll of blue paper towel. Nothing compared to Westmoreland Services where the food is excellent and very well priced. Every service station should be like them
dobbsydotcom, Tue 19 Jul 2011
The parking clamper people seem to think a car towing a trailer is a lorry, clamped me and made me pay 125 quid to be released. Definately will NEVER be visiting here again, its legalised theft and they do not listen to you, they told me I should park in an HGV bay but they were all full, so when I parked in the caravan bay (which is also a car towing a trailer, right?) they clamped me.
Totally disgusting and I will do all I can to ensure they lose trade.

I Have just paid for the most expensive cup of coffee going, My husband who is a HGV driver called into the services at Knutsford, only to find TWO vehicles pulling caravans parked in the HGV bays, he pulled in to an alternative bay - which he and other HGV Drivers have done on numberous occasions, went to the gents, and picked up a take away coffee. - taking some 05 - 15 mins tops. When he arrived back at his HGV he found a penalty stuck to it, £50 increasing to £120 if not paid within a time limit. My husband went and enquired why the caravaners had not received a penalty for being in the HGV bays only to be informed that it has nothing to do with the staff based at knutsford- but an outside agency and that there was nothing they could do to help or assist.
I would like to say that my husband and his friends have used knutsford services to both eat, drink and fill their HGVs with some 350 litres of diesel over the past number of years but you may rest assured, he and they will not be doing so in the future.
Yours a very angry wife!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi visited M&S yesterday 12/03/11 At first a nice warm welcome from a young chap dressed smartly with dark brown hair. Then i was nearly bowled of my feet by a lunatic flying around the corner with a 6 foot + green stack full of produce! The person pushing this stack was also wearing a shirt around his 30s and had mousy brown hair, He was not welcoming and just shook his head and walked off!! would not shop here again DUE TO THIS STUPID MAN WHO NEARLY INJURED ME HE LOOKED LIKE THE STORE MANAGER AND WAS WEARING A NAME TAG THAT READ STEPHEN IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY!! STAY WELL CLEAR GUYS!

At a cost of over £20 my family and I visited Burger King for our evening meal. One of the three burgers was cold and I returned it to the manager for a replacement, this was supplied FOC and with an apology. Our main concern was the overall cleanliness of the restaurant, there were food remains on tables, chairs and walked in to the floor. The table had a promotional triangular card and stuffed in the centre was more waste, the bins were so full that we had to leave our tray on top of the bin at the instruction of the member of staff on duty. The overall standard was very poor both from the staff and the environment.

Stopped at services to take a break..."tiredness kills".Got a letter demanding £80 for overstaying parking.I've never known other service stations with a minimum time allowance to park.It was confusing which was the parking for Travelodge & which for the Moto.Did NOT see any sign saying we will charge you £80 if you overstay, or that you could pay in the moto if you didI wouldn't have parked there if i had !!
ps...the car park was half-empty. I don't see how they can justify the amount they are trying to extort. If they want to pursue the payment in court...let them.It will cost them a lot more in the long-run...The letter was also very threatening

£35-00 to park your car SCANDALOUS it's a wonder you get anyone to stop. I was going to pick your service area for the start of a private coach tour but in no way would I ask anyone to pay these car park prices, but it say's all about the UK it's just GREED with a capital G. Will arrange carpark at Manchester Airport and pickup there. John Wright
John Wright, Sun 13 Feb 2011
My husband regularly goes to manchester with our 2 children 8 and 10 year old and does stop at the service station. Last weekend he went to Manchester and on the way back stopped for half an hour and was home 11.20pm, I know this as I made a point of checking the time and was annoyed that our children have school in the morning! Today he has received a parking ticket for parking their for 3 hours and 51 minutes! and apparently he arrived there at 12.49am and left 3.41am - He was fast asleep at home, its rediculous, well we definitely will be putting in an appeal and he wont be using that service station again - they should get their facts right!

This is a very well presented latrine with many stunning features, that are well presented and maintained by friendly and helpful staff. I found that the the cleaning schedules were kept to as the mess I left was was cleaned up by my next visit since the the last cleaning time had passes.I look forward to the winter season change of menu as well, when I hope to see some inspired selections on offer.

Hate people putting negative reviews!! I stop here all the time and have nothing bad to say. Great food especially the Chicken Tikka with chips!!Very clean loos especially as there are always cleaners around. Good impression I'd say. Don't mock it until you've tried it.

This was my first (and last) time of using these 'services' they are very unwelcoming and deserve to go bust. As you drive in it feels like you are entering a 'Big Brother' film set with cameras everywhere and a notice which tells you your registration number has been recorded (very sinister!)
Well, if anyone is lucky enough to read this BEFORE erring from the lovely M6 then I feel this note isn't wasted. I must say I wondered why the car park was nearly empty - now I know !!!!!

I stopped at Knutsford yesterday and went to the WH Smith unit, the staff went out of their way to help me find what i wanted, the only pain was the make up sellers at the door, overall i would stop there again.

A great service station, although they don't make it clear where you're allowed to park.I always stop here! I don't know why the hell this has such a bad rating! It's the best service station in my opinion!I love all Moto's

I'm afraid I have to agree with a certain Welshman that if you happen upon Knutsford Services in the small hours, there's not much to do except have a nervous breakdown. Not an award winning mince pie in sight though I did enjoy a happy hour or two sitting in a nice folding chair and making scary faces with my torch-with-the-power-of-a-million-candles!That said, the ladies toilets were spotless and I pressed the smiley face with gusto as I left, feeling triumphant that I'd done my bit to compliment Knutsford Services. And Mark Robertson looks like a welcoming manager, though there was no sign of him when I was there and naturally I was devastated by this.To be honest I only popped in on my way back to Devon to pay homage to my favorite comedian and it was worth it for the giggle. Thanks Knutsford Services. I've been to worse service stations!

I lost my wallet at this station after getting married so who ever found it I hope you do the decent thing and hand it in to a police station, or you send it to Street, Somerset police station. I just want my wallet back please.

I wanted to inquire about a missing pair of spectacles which may have been left at Knutsford southside on Thursday afternoon. I rang the number given on the Knutsford Services website at 6.20pm tonight, Friday. There was no reply. If there is no mangement on duty at this time, then perhaps an automated message might have advised when the office is again open, but there was absolutely no response. For a motorway service area open 24 hours, I think this is a serious oversight.
Allan Muirhead, Fri 17 Sep 2010

Driving south from Scotland pulled into service station hoping to find accommodation for the night. No indication of where to find hotel. Asked at petrol station and was told to go through 4 no entry signs. we ended up back on the motorway before trying again - and then wished we hadn't. DO NOT STOP HERE. IT'S THE WORST SERVICE STATION EVER AND DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIND THE HOTEL IF TRAVELLING SOUTH

I know that Moto have an appeals process for anyone who feels they shouldn't have received a parking notice. If you or someone you know has been a customer or fallen asleep and a parking notice has been issued, log onto the moto web site and get in touch with them. They also have a duty manager available who can deal with any customer concerns or queries before you leave site.

£80 for eighteen mins' over the two hours. However, there loss I've banned all my employees from using any MOTO services unless in an extreme emergency. Current staff levels circa 120. Also no client meetings which were around 6 -8 per week

We called at Knutsford on the way back from holiday. I had my 93 year old mother in the car. Disabled places were all taken, except for those that you had to pre-book even though they were empty. I took my mom to the disabled toilets and couldn't believe how low the system was for her to get down and get up. It was far too low for an elderly person to use. Even I had a job and I'm not disabled. Perhaps this can be taken into consideration and rectified. The hotel we used on our holiday, catered excellently for the disabled, perhaps you could take a leaf out of their book.

I to have received a Parking Notice for parking on private land. Fair enough you may say, except I had paid for the privilage already through a very complicated process in the first place!
It seems MOTO employ a heavy handed subconractor to monitor their parking. I wonder how many people have been to worried and just paid the fine.
All in all a very unpleasent insident and I certainly wont be taking the risk again.

Stopped here last night but on seeing 2 men with clamping equipment in the car park drove off to the next services

I work with a company that operated a large fleet of cars and vans,we use knutsford for meetings and meeting up. I now have a £80 fine. I will make it my business to warn and prevent the use of this "rest facility" in the future. NO GO MOTO!

Mark Robertsons personal photographic welcome was fantastic and the award winning mince pies at Ritazza were second to none. I, like many others feel that some 1 million tog duvets would enhance the range. 2 candle torches are also a worthwhile consideration.

If anybody thinks management takes notice of there own w site. Well they don't.I would put upto £500 of fuel at a time here but no more. While getting a burger, it cost me £250 fine. Not serprising people put concrete down toilets. They make more from fines then over the counter.

Cramped parking and generally miserable looking!
Rod Adams, Wed 30 Dec 2009
Pulled in here to change my son's nappy. The room had a very strong smell....which I realised was lillies! There was a glass vases suspended on the wall over the changing mat where the babies lie! Surely there is a Health & Safety issue about having a glass vase in this position, especially full of lillies which have both a pungent smell and very loose pollen that could fall onto a baby's face! Also, I set the hot tap to run when I started so I could use warm water and by the time I had finished, there was still no warm, let alone hot, water! Very disappointing and worrying experience..

i had just driven from the highlands of scotland, the rain was very heavy and the conditions were poor due to spray from the road surface . feeling tired i pulled into knutsford services, had a sleep, something to eat and a walk around the shop. feeling refreshed i carried on with my journey total time at knutsford three hours , the bill through my door today £ 80 . THIS CANNOT BE LEGAL the services are to promote rest while driving long hours, to prevent accidents, has anyone out there challenged this robber and what was the result would love to know. at least dick turpin had the decency to wear a mask .

G..Relating to money, as an employee there, its the cashiers responsibility to check for fake notes and we do get them. Scotish and Irish notes are legit tender but they are not widely available in England hense we don't see them a lot. Don't take offense to us checking your money, its our jobs at stake.

I purchased 3 "coffees", 2 "hot chocolates" AKA boiling hot dish water, and 3 very small cakes from Ritazzi for £16.00 on 10th August.Quite simply the worst coffee I have ever tasted, and my kids couldn`t finish the hot chocolates.I`ll take a flask next time, or go thirsty. Why do we put up with this rubbish?I travelled 2000 miles through France last year touring and the 1 Euro coffee machines at every service station knocked spots of this junk.

Pulled in to have a meeting with 3 business colleges, there just over 2 hours, spending money in their restaurants and coffee shops, come out and 2 of us end up with a £85 parking charge. I’ve met loads of people there over the years; sadly this was the last time. In future it’s now banned for myself and our staff to use it and I will simply drive on and spend my money somewhere else. They may have made £85 from me, however it’s going to cost them a lot more in lost business from the sheer amount of blogging I’ve done on it and people avoid the place.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICES!
I have been using this services for meeting business colleagues and between us all, we must have spent over £1500 on meals and drinks.
I have just got a £80 fine for parking in the car park!
Its not enough for them to rip you off with their prices in the cafes etc... now they want to fine people for just parking.
stay away!

Stopped off as I was alone driving back from scotland, and very tired, pulled up into moto knutsford and had a nap as my driving was effected, back at home and now with a £200 fine. I pulled in here to ensure I did not cause a accident on the motorway, so if this service station does not allow this, then the police and accident units are going to have a busy job.

This place is a joke- pulled in today in my lorry. The lorry park was full so i parked in the coach area. Went in to use the toilet and when i got out i was clamped. Cost me £250 to get released. I told the guy who clamped me that the lorry park was full and he said "yeah, i know. We were watching you" So they waited on me to make a mistake and got me for it. Surely someone should manage the site a little better and employ someone to direct people if car parks are full rather than simply watching them and clamping them. A licence to print money. Conmen

Spread the word to everyone pulling a Caravan - DON'T STOP - keep moving. WE ARE NOT WELCOME HERE.

Travelling home to Scotland with two children under 1 we fouond these services to be well below average and in fact quite disgusting. The baby change facilities were terrible and in a bad state of disrepair, we could only find 4 highchairs all in use of course in the restaurant so had to feed our children on our knees. I appreciate it wa the start of half term but 4 clearly isn't enough. The microwave provided for warming baby food was filthy as was the area around it. I shall certainly choose my services carefully for my return trip back tomorrow and I won't be stopping at Knutsford.
Pamela Brown, Wed 18 Feb 2009
EDC Ltd at the The knutsford services is pathetic. There is no customer service to speak of. If I were you I'd starve before visiting this place again
Peter, Tue 23 Dec 2008
Very concerned wagon driver just doing an honest days work cost me £250 to go to the toilet as the cowboys clamped me. Its nothing short of what Dick Turpin used to do HIGHWAY ROBBERY, in my opinion its the Moto services fault for giving the contract to these CPS Cowboys. I will be writing to the manager.
Martin Anderson, Sun 7 Dec 2008

two drivers of trailer stoped and parked between 2 trailers without drivers in. there stopped only to use WC.(10minutes), while they been inside of MOTO, they got clamp from CPS(dont know the reason because others trailers did not).so after 30 minutes tried to explain whole situation to CPS men, that they did not do anything wrong, they parked and done the same as other trailers/drivers...CPS said that drivers have to pay 250£. otherwise they will wait 6hours and after that they will take vehicle for storage and it will cost more then 1000£.after all CPS gave all documents to drivers with uncorrect time of parking...all internet sides, all informations on the road is telling 2hours free of charge... so...please let me know, where can I sent all the pictures were taken, documets and who will be in charge of this case, cos I will not leave it like that.thank you very much
Monika Brlejova, Wed 5 Nov 2008

Right. for a start the car park is nothin t do wiv moto. they used t charge somethin like six pound so lay off. its a private company. any problems with that find that company and take it up with them and lay off the staff.
Chris Appleton, Fri 10 Oct 2008
£30 to park for 10 hours!!!!!!!!Plus the machine expects you to have sufficient pound coins. If not you can spend 10 minutes on the phone registering your credit card and then by charged any extra 20p conveniency charge.
Cathy, Thu 31 Jul 2008
must say. the comment are a bit harsh. myself works there and the staff i work with are fun and helpful. whats everyones problem.
Chris, Thu 31 Jul 2008
Chrisa Herring: you're supposed to supply the voucher WHEN ordering, not after
its not the employees fault if you can't get it right, and being franchised they can decide which vouchers to accept.

Stopped for a toilet break & to get some fuel and wished I hadn't bothered. The toilet facilities were filthy, yet this seems to be a feature of many services late at night/early morning I have noticed these past months.
Gary Farrimond, Thu 3 Jul 2008
Recently stopped for a break and thought we would have a B.K on having some discount vouchers, ordered the food and paying for it then was told on presenting the voucher that they are not in the promotion and thye manager said basically hard luck you have paid for it now BAD customer service
Chrisa Herring, Sat 10 May 2008
Check out the parking prices. A ripoff in anyone's books.

If it's daytime, you're much better off leaving the motorway at J19 (about quarter mile from the services) and heading 200 yards towards Chester to drop into the farm teashop or the Smoker pub for a meal/refreshment. We do it every time, cheaper, friendlier and much nicer food.
Clint, Sun 25 Nov 2007
Stopped here just before Christmas. Moto facilities and food were awful (no one was buying), only saved by buying samdwhiches in M&S. Bought coffee at moto facility it was a ripoff

would you please put a simple sign to direct people of an older disposition out of cafe to south or north car park because i nearly had a heart attack thinking that my car had been stolen. i was not the only person within 5 mins that had gone down the wrong staircase and had mistakenly found themselves on the wrong side. when mentioned to your manager she couldnt even be bothered to have a conversation with me all she was interested in was talking to her mates in staff. please reply back a.s.a.p i want an explanation.

Is it standard policy for staff in Marks & Spencers to scrutinise money handed over by Scottish people. I handed over a Bank of England £5 note to pay for something and as soon as the lady heard I was Scottish she investigated the note as if there was something wrong with it. The person who was in front of me did not receive this treatment & they were English. Very annoying!!! However I did hand over a £20 Bank of Scotland note to pay for hot food and there was no problem at all. I had a good laugh with the lady behind the till. Restored some of my faith!

Unfortunately, the food at the Burger King was the worst I have come across at any BK - stale and wilting and I generally prefer BK above the other FF giants.
Neil Turner, Sun 1 Jan 2006
These are my least favourite services. Parking is cramped and poorly designed, usually crowded, at least is has a Burger King.
