I know it is probably not worth saying but there is something wonderful about sharing your name with a Motorway Service although it is very scary when you first see the signs for it and you do turn to other people in the car and ask if they see their name or yours.;

I would just like to say that my wife and i were ripped off at this service station what with 2 sandwich packs and 2 teas costing over £10-00 .I would like to say to any other people that visit rip-off southwaite and choke on their sandwiches and then spit the offending stuff out of your mouth at least you do not need to bin the remains of the food as the rats i saw on the grass outside the main entrance adjacent to the last disabled parking bay would finish them off, [legally parked in the disabled bay].Have a really super duper day at southwaite services am off to get in touch with their local council about the rat problem but just before i go i did tell the 2 lady staff members about what we saw, and also, why was there freezing air blowing out of vents next to the toilets , the whole place was freezing , the 2 staff ladies said it was warmer earlier !!!!!

I Agree Heathers comments are less than useless if you look around at other Moto site she leaves comments on there as well. Upon research she does actually work for moto pa to ceo and coo,thats how she knows there is an appeals procedure why she cant just say beats me (must be ashamed) Ring Moto Head office 01525 873933 Ask for Heather Eilbeck and tell her of your issues see what she can do. Hi once again off to France for a break stopped off for the usual breakfast still good food and still at the same price and the staff have a good sense of humour at this early hour. the toilets were especially clean and tidy.

All cash machines in the place now charge £2 per transaction, no free machines at all - coffee shop would not take cards at that time so it would work out at £5 per cup. A complete rip off.
Why can't they let small traders compete in the car park for trade? Easy answer - massive profits.
Surely this is an illegal monopoly?;

My husband is disabled and partially sighted. We were disgusted to find that the only disabled toilet that we could find was also the baby changing facility. There was a very long queue and eventually, we had to ask a gentleman to guide him into the regular gents as he could not see his way. This was very embarassing for him as he then had to ask someone to quide him out. Surely it is not to much to expect a designated disabled toilet, or perhaps there is one hidden away?.;

Wimpy have gone and been replaced by The Burger Company. Their food is completely revolting and nowhere near the standard of the Wimpy. Please ensure that it is known that Wimpy are no longer on site. A word in the ear of The Burger Company manager would not go amiss!

Note to Heather: your advice is impractical. You get this Parking Notice through the post AFTER you have left the site since it goes to your home address identified by your registration. MOTO should be ashamed of itself not trying to cause already tired customers distress and inconvenience - MOTO should not be attempting to justify the unjustifiable - they should call a halt immediately to what is simply an attempt at extortion.;

I have just received a notice to pay a parking penalty for over 2 hours on 26th August 2010. It claims to have photographic evidence of PARKING - in fact it has photographic evidence of coming onto the site and leaving the site - no images of me parked at all - this is because the first photo shows me coming onto the site to buy a paper - the image of me leaving the site was my second visit in the same day and shows me leaving the service station to go to Carlisle. This is NOT evidence of parking and cannot be since I only parked for the time it took me to pop into the shop. I WAS VERY UPSET BY THIS AND DISGUSTED. I have spent almost two hours on this so far - trying to get in touch with someone - no one answers the phone on a Saturday when I received it - so I have spent the weekend in distress - and I have written to my MP (Rory Stewart) to complain of this abuse of a monopoly - it is a health and safety issue - and MOTO are supposed to provide customers with a place to safely sleep - they even have the THINK logo on their website - yet they are obviously trying to charge people to do this - plain greed and disgraceful. I have written to MOTO PR and am not going to use MOTO again unless I get a letter of apology and an assurance that this parking system will be halted immediately so that there is no danger of lives being lost due to people like me refusing to stop at a MOTO due to their ludicrous policy of charging for parking. The last entry that says you can speak to the manager has obviously never tried to speak to a manager on a Saturday. I suggest all people who have been charged and paid on this evidence get their money back - it is not evidence. I also suggest you complain to your MP too.;

I have never ever found any problems with any service station ever, if I happen to see rubbish still left on any tables I just don't let it bother me, actually last service station I stopped at was Watford gap and while I was sitting eating my salad a worker was clearing up rubbish.
As for the two hour parking limit, who on earth would wanna spent anywhere near two hours at any service station anyway;

Please name a company that has not been effected in recent years with the economy, cutbacks, under staffing and wage cuts are common everywhere. They still have to offer a good service if not more so. The trouble with motorway services we are stuck with you as little other choice.;

The food from EDC looked it had been there since last august it was the dried out and crusty. They also didn't have 2 out if the 6 hot options. Thank god for M&S and costa they still have a high standard of food and drinks. In general a very run down services;

i stopped here yesterday with a friend, and we decided to eat at burger king! a mistake i will never make again, whilst the place wasnt dirty, it certainly wasnt clean (and that goes for the whole service station, not just the burger king) After eating part of my burger, i began to notice that it was slightly pink, so i split it in half, and the burger was completely pink in the middle!. To add insult to injury i heard some of the employee's talking and one of them was apparently being sick in the back of the premises, in the bin! instead of going home he decided to carry on serving food. It was at that point me and my friend left our uncooked burger and quickly left, needless to say neither of us are feeling particularly good this morning. Oh and 2 hour parking restriction is ridiculous!;

Missed required junction on M25 and ended up here. What a mistake! Difficult entry from north side, crossing lines of traffic. Worst breakfast I have ever had at a service station, cold and totally unappetising. Avoid!!! ;

I am fumming at the service and attitude towards customers from these services.
I Visited last Thursday 19-08-2010 and stayed for a total of 3hours and 40minutes. Despite spending in excess of £40 on food and drink for myself and the two clients I met there, and another £12 on wifi I have just received a £80 Parking ticket. I can honestly say I never saw the sign on the way into the services, I understand why they charge people to park if they leave their car there all day and don't use the facilities but I was there and I spent a considerable amount of money in there. I have tried to call the number on both the parking fine and the services directly but nobody is available to talk about my situation.
Luckily I am passing there on Monday so I will call in and see if I can talk to someone about it.
I will let you know how I get on!;

my family and i stopped here during the bilding works and decided to see the results and wow what a transformation. the site is bright and airey. the new look gameszone on the northbound looks fantastic. waitrose had a good selection and starbucks is amazing. when we stopped the site was busy but not a mess as has been suggested. i have never seen a cleaner site;

Stopped off on way back from a fantastic holiday in Scotland.
Unfortunately this was a BIG mistake.Absolutely disgusting facility in a beautiful location.
Dog dirt all over the place, made us all feel sick, absolutely revolting. This site should be shut down and completely revamped. A seperate dog area is required. Dog owners should be ashamed of themselves as well as the management at this location. I WILL NEVER STOP HERE AGAIN;

Had to stand and wait whilst the serving staff decided to move themselves away from the serving hatch whilst they were having an in depth chat about god knows what?Wait with food chilling whilst an egg was frying. To top it all the cashier spoke in an undecipherable language that only his peers would understand.
Dull lifeless place full of staff that obviously wish they could be somewhere else. In this day and age of unemployment give the jobs to those who deserve it!!!;

I and my family visited this facility twice in one day this month. Unfortunately, the car park management system failed to notice when we left site, coming back hours later. They are now pursuing me for an £80 parking fine. Not the best customer service!;

i left my mobile phone at the Southbound services. The staff looked after it, rang the last number I had called and left a message with my firend, I then called the services back and they posted my phone back to me within 24 hours. Incredible service. I am really chuffed.;

Now this is different, a service area with a farm shop on site. Very clean. Easy to park. Quieter than many services probably due to the fact that there are truck stops on the M6 before this one.;
