Appalling service in Burger King! Was served by Brandon who did not have a clue! Items left out of our order and when asked for them Brandon said they didn't have any yet I was charged for them anyway! The food we did receive was cold!

Totally disgusting that there are no showers for the price they charge to park for us truckers to use :( won't be staying here again
Tony Dack, Wed 8 Jul 2015
Disgusting toilets, stinking and dirty. Avoid at all costs!
ANGELA, Tue 24 Mar 2015
I was so unhappy with these services. There was nothing for a toddler to eat. No fruit for sale and the baby changing was disgusting. Be warned!!
Mary Egan, Sat 26 Jul 2014
Oh dear. It gets worse each time we call in. Toilets need demolishing. Buildings need updating. Worse service station we have ever been in. . please refurbish as it is so convenient when we are travelling to Swindon. . . but nothing will be done, will it !

I stayed here for 4 days recently from Georgia USA on a rugby sightseeing trip. The hotel is basic but was adequate for my stay. The route in and out of the services is indeed confusing and I often saw driver drive up the wrong way almost crashing into oncoming traffic. There are no food facilities at the hotel just basic microwave which you can use.
Rooms are tidy and cleaned daily.
Staff friendly - although one male receptionist (Dale) was at times "too friendly" asking personal information.I dont mind banter but being told that "he likes seeing older men who look after themselves" - while eyeing me up in my rugby top and jogger bottoms, I suddenly became hyperaware of where and what area he was looking me in.
I thought he was interested in my country asking where I live and the southern states, but then he commented"if I wanted to take him home I could as he was small enough to fit in my luggage, but big enough in all other places" and "if he ever came to the states would he be welcome to stay with me??"
I rushed my cigarette, it came to the stage Id ask my buddy on the late shift If and when Dale was next on shift, if I knew he was on the desk, I would smoke out of my window as I knew if i went outside he would come out and pester me. Im nothing bad about gay guys but he was almost pushy and I didnt like that, im a family man and if i bring my family over here which I intend to do in a few months then I dont wish them to hear this kind of choice conversation.
It became almost uncomfortable that I didnt want to cause a scene, but mentioned it to the cool guy on nights my new buddy "Scott". He said he would mention it in the morning, whether he did im unsure.
That was my only gripe at Sarn Days Inn.
The services themselves arent 24hrs so getting food late means either ordering out to come in or going out. I bought food in the 24hour petrol station the usual bad for me stuff like pastries and coke, being American we stick with what we know, so lack of choices there. Pleasant staff though.
The hotel states its close to Cardiff - its not close, about 20 minutes away by airplane.

Last June I stopped at Sarn (as I often do) in a convoy of two minibuses to pick up some youngsters for a day trip to a museum in Dorset. We were there no more than five minutes at approximately 7am. 12 hours later we passed through on our way home, again for five minutes, to drop the kids off.
Imagine my surprise then, when I receive TWO parking tickets for being parked at Sarn for 12 hours...
Absolutely livid at the utter incompetence and inability of their system to recognise that we made two short visits instead of one 12-hour visit!

An exercise in how not to provide a service. A visit should be compulsory for every management student. Sainsbury over the other side of the roundabout is one of their poorest, but scores 5 stars in comparison. The pity is what these places do for Wales as a country. Visitors use them and get an awful impression of a country on it's knees, where nobody cares, where litter and mess is rife. welsh farmers are constantly being inspected and told to make improvements, yet service stations like this can carry on as they are year after decade. Are they never spot inspected, for the toilets etc?

I just want to thank Kevin Bellamy (manager) and all the staff at Days Inn who allowed myself and 3 friends, who were halfway through a charity walk from Swansea to Cardiff in aid of Golau Cancer Foundation, to pitch a tent in the grounds for an overnight stay en route on Saturday August 10th, 2013.Without this help the walk may have had to have been cancelled and £1300 not raised. Thanks to the staff that night who were all helpful and friendly.

If I as a customer can say please and thank you, the member of staff who served me in the petrol station should do likewise. Normally all the staff are really polite and friendly so I would like to say thank you to them, but due to this particular women I shall be purchasing my fuel else where.

Have just got off the phone with my partner and my son, who on their first day of their holiday (from Ireland) broke down on the Motorway at 3am and were towed by the police to Sarn Park Services.
They are effusive in their praise of the manager there and are amazed by how kind everyone there has been to them. They have been driven in staff's private cars and general are being very well looked after while they wait (probably until tonight) for a friend to drive from London to pick them up.
Similar praise for the police, who were more than nice to them also.

I live locally and use these sevices to get a coffee from Starbucks almost daily, as it's generally easier to access than the nearby McArthur Glen Outlet. HOWEVER I WILL NOT USE THIS SERVICE STATION AGAIN. Their 'Parking Eye' system claim I spent 4 and a half hours in their carpark and have charged me £100. What actually happened was I grabbed a coffee in the morning.. and on a seperate trip I grabbed a coffee in the afternoon. I live 15 minutes away and have no business spending 4 and a half hours in thier carpark. COMPLETE JOKE.
Oh and I second coffee addicts comment on Kris ;).
Large Latte to go Rob, Mon 20 May 2013
It's a bit of a dump but Kris in Starbucks always leaves a smile on my face. If I was 10 years younger...

Ladies toilets were absolutely disgusting, urine all over the floor & smelt completely foul. A complete disgrace.
Dawn, Sun 14 Apr 2013
I was disgusted to recieve a parking fine for £100 for parking just over two hours never seen any signs and I was sat in my car also which is not good getting this fine. I warn other drivers to be carefull and check on times or your stay. not a happy person
unhappy driver, Thu 28 Feb 2013
On visiting the services, toilets are terrible, dirty & dark-even my husband agreed with the mens toilets.
Not what i expect from motorway services, worst we have ever visited.

I was going to leave a negative comment after being refused the use of the shower as i was not parking for the night but i see that everybody has made enough comments already. I will add that the surly girl behind the counter at W H Smith did contemplate letting me use the shower down at the hotel but then looked at me and replied "no" For what reason is anybodys guess but i left in a dignified manner without making a comment to her as i felt that the use of half decent grammer would no doubt have been wasted on this particular recipient......Good luck Sarn Park with getting your ratings above barely average and the next time a smelly truck driver comes to make a delivery, have a little think about the reason why !!!

WELL WERE DO I START!!!!!!!!!!As a lorry driver wanting somewhere to park over night i had NO option but to park here and wot a BIG BIG MISTAKE THIS WAS.You have to pay in WHS then walk down to the motel to get a shower then bak up to the lorry park which is about 600yrds each way may i add. When at the motel told you have to wait as there is only ONE SHOWER TO USE.Having paid the full £16.00 to obtain a night's parking & a meal voucher i thought ok now for some tea at 6pm only to FIND that the Cafe had already closed round 5pm time only to get told well there is a BURGER KING OPEN or STARBUCKS FOR YOUR TEA. What planet does that worker live on starbucks is a coffee shop NOT a food court. This is all wrong being told this and as a paying customer this is a totally out of order. This is not good eough for a lorry driver whom has just done either a 13hr day or 15hr day.Welcome break really need to get there act together at this site.I personnal believe they should knock the whole place down as this would be the best result & rebuild new facilities all in one place.
MR NOT SO HAPPY TRUCKER., Wed 25 Jan 2012
I think some people expect too much from a Motorway Services. Considering the location I think its pretty good. I often call in there and I find the staff in the shop particularly friendly - in fact the girl who served me yesterday was probably one of the nicest shop assistants I have ever encountered. I would visit again just to see her smile. Customer service does count ;)

What is it with services on the M4 in Wales? This places only saving grace is that it isn't quite as bad as Cardiff West.
The design is so bad it's comical. From the poorly designed road system through to the toilets being outside, the entire place feels like a failed experiment.
The place felt run down and unloved. The toilets were at least clean but were in very poor condition in general and are probably freezing in the cold weather. Amusingly hot food cafe appeared to be shut even though it was lunchtime.
The only saving grace this place has is that it isn't Cardiff West!
Chinny Hill, Tue 24 Jan 2012
I have the misfortune to live near this service station and have visited it a few times. It's the worst service station I have ever visited. I still can't believe that there is no shelter between buildings, well I say buildings, a granary style cafe (how 80's), a BK and a loo block (which is dirty).Prices are high and staff unfriendly. Personally I'd say stay away from it and go to the much better signposted mcarthur glen outlet. There's loads of food outlets and clean loos!! Sainsbury's petrol station is reasonable and has pay at pump (saving time and money)
anon driver, Thu 3 Nov 2011
i have had the misfortune of calling into your sarn park services today and found the visit to be upsetting to say the least. The eating areas are in need of a complete referb. It would also help if the cutlery and the china were clean enough to eat off. The toilets are a living disgrace and need more than a complete referb, knocking down and rebuilt would be a good idea!!
a.gaylor, Thu 19 Aug 2010
worst service ever unfrendly staff could not be bothered to help.if you are a lorry driver you are welcome if you are a coach passenger you have to que to get served tried to speek to managment about state of service. told thay do not see anyone

This place is a dump. You are welcomed by a half-buried trailer in the gardens as a "feature". Stinking toilets. Surly staff. We tried Cafe Primo and were served with a Danish pastry which was drier and dustier than the Sahara desert. The bill came to £6.05 so I gave £10.05 expecting £4.00 change. I was given 4p instead. I had the devil's own job to get the proper change after being assured that the change would be brought to me. Don't call here even if you're desparate.
Huw, Wed 10 Feb 2010
hey this place is great i dont know why all these people have been grumping about its fantastic and if you say its a maze it is the smallest maze i ever seen because when you go through the double door you go to the right hand side and thats the way in easy :) some thick people on here haha
jordan, Tue 22 Sep 2009
I recently stopped here on the way to Pembrokeshire in a state of severe exhaustion and mental fatigue. After negotiating the ridiculously complicated entrance, (Which is very dangerous if you're tired) I found out that the Coffee Primo was closed, (Despite the fact it was only 5 in the afternoon) so I had to get a takeaway coffee and drink it out in the cold. There was no sugar left by the machine, so I asked the only person at the checkout where I could find one and they grumpily told me to go and get one from the Burger King. Overall, very poor service. However, I do like the loos. Because they're set apart from the eating areas, they're a lot more hygenic.

If you're heading Eastbound and you need a wee, then keep on driving until you get to J32 (Coryton) and make use of the gigantic Asda which is hidden behind the trees just off the junction.
Don't bother with Cardiff west. It's only marginally better than Sarn Park.
If you're heading Westbound towards west Wales - keep on going till you reach Pont Abraham at the end of the M4.
James, Thu 18 Sep 2008
the suicide capital of Welcome Breaks. if your spirits are up then whatever you do don't come off the motorway, just keep going. heaven forbid if you need to stop for a 'number 1'....theys got outside toilets!!!!
malcolm Key, Fri 5 Sep 2008
This service station must be the worst in Britain. How do you get into it? The signage is dreadful. Visiting it is a dreadful experience I hope never to repeat. Advice: get the signs cleared up - both entry and exit signs. Help drivers, don't baffle them.
ian Gordon, Wed 30 Apr 2008
I stopped here today, and without a doubt the worst ever services I have ever set my eyes on. Firstly, the layout of the road getting there was beyond.I couldnt find the mens toilets, as the building layout is just ruddy stupid.I nearlly knocked myself out on the way in, as they have plonked a CCTV camera in the middle of the doorway.I had to try and find a cubicle that actually had toilet paper. There was no hand soap, and the hand dryer was blowing out cold air. Then had to join the maze again, so i could find the way out. The most bloody redicolous services possible.
Dont even bother visiting!
CJ, Tue 22 Apr 2008
rubbish you have to go about 2 or 3 miles of the junction PS this isn't good if you need the toilet most wierd services i have ever seen they wheren't even in one central building they where 4 or 5 seperate hexagon shape buildings rubbish
phil causeway, Wed 25 Apr 2007
The most disgusting Service Station I had ever been to. The Toilets were more than dirty & there is about 2 staff that worked in this little cafe. If I were you I woulden't stop there even if you were totally desperate.
