I am a trucker and like the use of a shower after a days work. I did find at the time i used it, it was clean. However, the toilets did need attention.
O
One thing i was very happy about was the fact that i could use my meal voucher at any of the food takeaways on the services which, is more than i can say for others.

Rakatak, 31 January 2012

I think everyone here has way too much time on their hands....

Benjamin Lewis, 26 January 2012

Over crowded and too expensive with insufficent staff at peak times.

Two examples of costs. Peperami. £1.49, in Asda £0.62. This is profiteering plain and simple, some mark up, yes over 100% No. Small pot of chopped fruit. £3.99.probably cost <£0.50 to put together.

I dont expect budget food, but I dont expect to be ripped off. If anything things should be cheaper at services stations give the through traffic you get.

Chris Whale, 28 November 2011

Most of the gentlemen's toilets were out of order, and we needed wellington boots for the ones that were working. Prices of food and drink are astronomical - I'll bring my own provisions next time!

Chris, 20 September 2011

This September we stayed overnight on the Southbound Services at Strensham. We paid our overnight fee £24 and included the voucher for full English Breakfast.
We decided to start on day on the 10th Sept, and went into the service area for our breakfast at around 6-00 am. There was no breakfast to be had at the Hot Food Company until 7-00 am. So we ended up with a McDonalds Breakfast, to get our money's worth we bought three for two of us or we could have had a Costa coffee and a muffin. What about Truckers who regularly stop over and start early, they could not get breakfast either. What sort of service is this?.For £24 fee you do expect some return. What a joke you are Strensham.?
So my advice if you need to stay over dont pay the fee to include food because you can't get it. Also to make the payment you could do it by mobile phone but the telephone number was in the other main car park. I was disabled. Also the fee was stated on the board was £10. When I managed to walk into the service area to W H Smith's he tells me no "it is £22 or £24" what is that all about.? PATHETIC !!!!!! DISGUSTING MAL - PRACTICE.

yvonne harvey, 17 September 2011

Congratulations !!! A 50% improvement in the disgusting Gents' toilets. Half of them have been locked up !!! But wait-- an engineer has been called-- Must be deaf, it took him 18 months to hear the Truckers' shower was out of order .

Couldn't some of the vast amount of money taken at these services be spent on the facilities before somebody contracts a fatal disease? Is there not a 'Elf and Safety issue ?

Regular Southbound, 16 September 2011

My husband is a class 1 hgv driver, and is usually away from home Monday to Friday so regularly uses truck stops and services. I was disgusted at his comments this evening with Strensham Services.
Upon using the facilities he found there was only 1 shower working which was luke warm and that had half the roof tiles missing; half the toilet seats were missing and all this for a top price of £24! To top it off he wanted a 1.5l bottle of cola at a cost of £2.70!
My husband says he'll definately be giving these services a miss in future!!

Sharon Meadows, 13 September 2011

I have never seen toilets so dirty in my life. 2 traps were out of order. the others were so dirty I had to try and clean them before use. Nobody was about to help. the sinks were so wet and filthy it is unbelieveable, I had been camping in a field that was better. utter filth, the place should be shut down untill repairs are done and the whole place cleaned, If the toilets are this bad what does it say for the kitchens etc.?????

Fred Sherwood, 11 September 2011

Most service stations are not there to be gourmet restaurants but just a quick stopover to grab some food or a coffee and use the toilets. The food is very rarely uneatable just not very good quality. I usually use Costa for a nice cup of coffee and a panini and a bag of crisps and that does me very nicely. The service will always be poor at motorway services because the people working there do not really want their jobs its just for the money. I have seen people regularly drop food on the floor, leave rubbish on the tables and generally behave like pigs just because they couldn't be bothered to tidy up after themselves. God knows what their own homes must be like! So next time you fancy a moan, put yourselves in their shoes, treat the staff kindly, tidy up after yourself and above all if you don't like it do not stop again and find somewhere else off the motorway.

David Moody, 8 September 2011

Always stop here on my way up north, but I have to say on my last visit I was most disappointed !
Nearly every toilet cubicle I went in had either no seat or a broken one !!
In Costa coffee I was charged for an extra shot of coffee in a drink, that I know should have been automatically in there, as it was very early in the morning and I wasn't fully awake (may I add, I was a passenger), I let it go.
Just hope on my next stop off in here it will be better

Amanda, 21 August 2011

In a rather forgetful moment, I left my handbag at the Service Station after a short comfort break and didn't realise until I was a further 3 hours north!

The duty manager was fantastic reassuring me that he had found it, described the contents to reassure me that nothing was missing and safely stored it until I was able to return on the Sunday afternoon.

On arrival to collect it the staff were very helpful. Nothing but praise for them.

anonymous coward, 20 July 2011

My husband and myself with our little Westie were coming up the slip road in our camper van on the car lane when our rear nearside tyre exploded, we were incredibly impressed with the way the staff from the services took care of us, the car park manager, the duty manager and even a member of staff from the coffee shop all came to help, putting up cones, directing traffic and even sweeping up the debris, we were lucky as Green Flag arrived within minutes, so it wasn't long before we were able to park up and have a very welcome Costa Coffee which tasted even better than usual, we would just like to say a big thank you to everyone! The rest of our journey was uneventful.

Roberta Spooner, 17 July 2011

Stopped in north bound services to refresh, quite clean inside and toilets being cleaned.
on return journey stopped in south bound, again quite clean. shop presumably open but no sign of staff. Queue in McD was quite long and didnt seem to move. The time was after midnight this morning. Waited about 20mins which was ages going by number in queue.
In fairness, although it took a long time for food and it was a bit dearer than normal, it wasone of the better burgers ive had from a mcd. Also stopped there one afternoon last summer. Was able to sit outside restaurant and it was quite pleasant. But service was still slow. Come to think of it I think it was same young chap serving.
One useful thing would be to re-paint road markings so that it is easier to find exit. I drove round twice .

Nick, 28 June 2011

I am a coach driver and called at strensham north services Monday 6th June. At a welcome break service area you get your food, drink and then go to the till to pay. At your hot food area you ordered your food, payed for it, and then waited to one side whilst the till operator went and got your food. When i called on Monday my passengers tried to queue to get hot food, but eventaly went across to Burger King as they could not get served, i myself tried to get a hot meal but in front of me was a lady who when at the till kept sending her husband away to get items of cold food/drinks thus holding up everbody else eventualy i got fed up and went to Burger King myself, i found the layout extremly ill thought out i certainly will not be calling at these services again.

JENMCD96, 17 March 2011

after driving 440 miles and reading the overhead gantries on the motorway, saying "Don't drive tired, take a break"; I took their advice and pulled in at Strenthem Services form a break. I fell asleep in the van for a couple of hours and then went on with my journey, when it felt safer to drive. A few days later, I was surprised to see a parking fine come through my door. I am appalled that I have been penalised for taking the advise set out by the motorway guidelines and endeavoring to keep myself and other drivers safe!

Nobody answering phone at Strensham. Am I able to get an elderly relative from car park to the loo easily. He can't walk a great distance. Any wheelchairs in evidence? Thanks

Sue F, 25 January 2011

I am appalled at the prices at service stations but honestly, can you expect them to be any different at any of the services? While I agree that most of the services have unhappy staff that are underpaid and overworked, I dont expect much myself from a simple stop for a wee and a coffee, and whilst in a perfect world I would expect better, I think that people here should probably get a grip on reality and stop pursuing justice for every negative experience they suffer. Really, this list of moaners here just demonstartes the british mentality, if you are having a bad day then lets drag someone else down with us, typical moany C*** behaviour.

Amoney Chunt, 7 January 2011

I would just like to thank the men who were working at the petrol station on the north bound carriage on Sunday 19th December - without whom I could not have continued my journey. They had worked through the night on saturday and carried on into sunday helping people with their cars and gritting the roads during the worst of the wintery weather. I'm not sure who they worked for but they were wearing roadchef coats. They spent at least 20 minutes defrosting my windscreen washers and then went on to help a queue of other motorists- life savers!!

Liz, 20 December 2010

We stopped here (Northbound) Sat 18th Dec specifically because I love my Wimpys. 'Due to Technical issues this Wimpy is closed until further notice ' - !!! why ... If it is not open DON'T ADVERISE IT . Cafe only had a suggy breakfast - Piza takeaway - chips awful - service slow.

If Roadshef replace Wimpy with McDonalds I won't be going there again...

Steffi, 20 December 2010

Pizza Hut express was closed and there was little else to eat. petrol costs were high and southbound toilets were dirty with many tiolets out of order. mcdonalds very good and efficient but that was the only possitve thing

Rachel, 15 November 2010

Why does nobody answer the 'phone.
Lost mobile on Saturday5.11.10 - have you a lost property office and has a 'phone been handed in?
A reply would be very much appreciated.

Stephen Haigh, 8 November 2010

Stopped at 22:30 pm on a friday night at Strensham to get a couple of hours as falling asleep at the wheel. Spent 2 1/2 hrs and drove on. A month later, the car hire company informed me i had got a parking fine. There were no visible signs, the restuarant building was closed, and there was no one else in the car park. I received no notification at the time that i had got a ticket. The hire company had already paid and added it to my account before i even saw it. This is a con. You should get notification there and then, as they know people are unlikely to fight it a month later. See that many have been caught in this trap. I have paid before at other service stations, when staying longer than 2 hours so i know what signs to look for. I did not see any. They try and get you to pull over when you are tired, and then they smack you with a fine. Not right.

Steve, 4 November 2010

Strensham is the subject of a channel five fly on the wall docu-soap on Tuesday 19th Oct @ 8pm

Roger, 16 October 2010

Looks a decent service area, and I'm interested in the night-time comments as in late November I'm being dropped off at the Southbound services after working in the North-West.

I hope to get a light snack and drink, so if the facilities are open and good then I'll partake of them. Also, are there taxi-ranks there?

You can email me with answers at danny.goodwin@fsmail.net. thanks!

Danny, 30 September 2010

Stopped here on busy Sunday lunchtime, clean, tidy and good service from Costa. Very impressed. Pleasant surroundings, actually enjoyed sitting out at picnic table in the sun with my cup of tea!

anonymous coward, 4 August 2010

Seems to be a decent site, had a good cup of tea here, and toilets are ok. Potholes on the road round the side though, and exit is tight and could make it difficult to rejoin M5.

Kevinho, 26 July 2010

Called in for a break on way back to Yorkshire from Bristol. It was about 2 in the morning and all facilities appeared to be closed! The shop was open but no staff in attendance, after 15 minutes of waiting left the items I wanted to purchase (tin of Diet Coke & a KitKat) on the counter and left. Went to the garage to fill up and reported what had happened. The chap behind the counter was apologetic and told me its a common occurance and management are concerned about theft! It beggers belief it really does

Gary Farrimond, 11 July 2010

North bound is an obsolute disgrace. Fuel is 20p a litre above the local supermarkets and food, parking etc are all extortionate. Facilities appearance are akin to a designated travellers camp with environmental health standards appearing to be in a similar vein. I put in £10 worth of fuel and came off a couple of junctions up and paid £113.9 as apposed to their £133.9. I won't make that mistake again. God knows what any tourists think.........

cwm ddu, 6 July 2010

We stop at this services on our way to Cornwall in August. Both going and coming back home. Can only sing its praises.
It has a good area for caravans, motorhomes. Decent price for overnight stays, that also include a voucher for money off at any off the shops/restaurants. We paid £12, for overnight parking last year, and also got tea and a hot choc the next day thanks to our voucher! And was gratefully recieved too. (that first cup of tea was....grand!)
There is security during the night and we feel safe.
Thanks Strensham, you make the start and end of our hols so much less stressful!!

AD & RM Wilson, 29 May 2010

Great service station I must say. I live in Devon north of Exeter and travel up to Old Trafford, Manchester as often as I can, whether it be on a coach or driving, and always visit the north and south bound service stations. I love them both, the best on the M5 by quite a distance. The best I've been to as well. And it is located in the perfect place for me, about halfway on my long journies to Manchester. Always get some great banter with other football fans at the station too especially on the way home. Facilities are great as well I just love the station. Staff seem nice enough as well I will always use Strensham services on both sides of the motorway.

Adam Carpenter, 5 May 2010

Visited this services after 9pm and all facilities offering hot meals were closed. Surely ther should be hot meals available for those working and travelling at night?

Dave Sparkes, 23 April 2010

I regularly stop here on my way to the South West. One of the better service areas. I wish it was nearer the half-way mark for my journey.
Good toilet facilities, reasonable food, good surroundings, especially southbound, better signage for exit than some places!

Vivienne, 20 March 2010

We strongly recomend you do knot have the sosages or potatoe. They were both cold, either over or under cooked, and seemed to have been just thrown onto the plate. Simply terible.

Angry, 25 January 2010

I have just travelled from Barnsley to Devon with 30 odd passengers most of whom are elderly. I was extremely concerned that the walkways from the coach park to the services entrance have not been cleared. I also stopped at Tibshelf and that was the same. Whose responsibility is it if a member of the public falls? Please try and do something about it.

Colin Webb, 11 January 2010

We stopped for lunch New Years Eve on our way to family celebrations. We paid for two meals which were served instantly. When we sat down the chips were hard and cold and the scampi I had was luke warm and hardened. I only eat a few pieces. After an hour I started to feel sick. This lead on to food poisoning which ruined my New Year as I spent it being sick and in bed. I am reporting this to Health & Safety as I was fine before this and it was the only thing I had eaten since the previous day. Well done for ruining my New Year with my family . Warning DO NOT EAT HERE ITS DODGY

Alex PArsons, 1 January 2010

alow workers to park in disabled bays and never able to locate site manager to complain about this, disabled means those who have the blue badge but people making deliveries etc seem to be blind and cannot read what the signs say, very disapointed by the attitude of people.

Charles , 23 December 2009

Warning do not use the toilets alone! Seriously, I went into the ladies toilet on Friday night and hardly any of the lights were working. I went into a cubicle and then to my horror heard a grunting noise. Then two male feet appeared under the side of the panel beside me and the wall starting shaking. A mann was in the cubicle next to me masturbating. I fled and the police were called. An elderly female member of staff entered the toilets and moved the pervert on. When the police arrived they informed me that the CCTV didn't work! I was told by staff that this was not an isolated case!

E Bradley, 23 November 2009

We had an awful coffee experience at 11 am on 4th november. We were served by 2 delightful girls but they need to be allowed to serve decent coffee, not coloured water which goes grey when milk is added. Sadly this is not the only complaint, later in the day, about 7pm,3 more of our party {we were travelling to Chester for grandaughters'graduation]had the same experience with ghastly coffee. No wonder the queue at Costa Coffee is so long.We will be going to them in future.

juliet manser, 14 November 2009

Stopped here, 2am Friday 6th November returning from Bristol.

Good facilities and clean. The staff were very friendly. Yet the thing that impressed me most is that some thought is at last being given to the needs of over night travellers. The selection of food availible was very good I appreciate that its necessary to limit choice but what was on offer here was impressive and well cooked and presented.

Gary Farrimond, 8 November 2009

visited recently and agree that the potholes were terrible, but delighted to say that they have been repaired now and its all nice and smooth!! - well done Strensham, you obviously got the message.

Andy Smith, 2 October 2009

As a coach driver i visit almost every motorway service area, and i will say Strensham North is the best service area in the country.
It is always busy and it is evident a lot of effort goes into making sure customers are looked after. The staff are always under pressure and work hard deal with eveything thrown at them. Many passengers always say that they enjoy the stop, of course there are grumbles about price, but they are the same as a railway station and an airport, so i think they are justified. So well done to all at Strensham, keep up the good work, cos they ll be plenty more full coaches from me.

John Robins, 13 September 2009

I'm in shock, its £20.00 just to park an HGV and £22.00 with meal voucher worth 10.00,not only is it just plain extortion there is no way you can get a decent meal with a drink for 10.00 here.i had unfortunatly run out of time so did not have much choice but to park here,i am never doing that again. When i spoke to the parking attendant about the disgraceful charges i was told "what's there to complain about".

stell, 3 September 2009

when leaving these services to carry on my long journey to devon , i was met by what semmed to big a cavenous if not extremly deep pot hole , when leaving your trailer park , owing to this being the only exit avalible to caravaners i was force to make this exit , owing to that fact that before leaving the site it had coursed major suspension problem to my caravan owing to it being recover 185 miles to devon at charge of £326.60 of which i had to fund thorugh your lack of maintainence . having had my caravan assessed on my holidays i was directly informed it was scrap of which i was not happy upon you reciving this comment i will of been in touch with this services to take the matter further . i suggest you maitain your site to the highest standards for health and safety and to prevent this occouring again , have the parking facilities re-tarmacd

antony raisin, 20 August 2009

Surely the 'Hot Food' company is seriously breaking false advertising regulations. I don't expect cold 'Smash' when I pay a fiver for mashed potatoes.

Joseph, 11 August 2009

i stopped at this services in the hgv bit. there was a lot of caravans and motorhomes. i walked behind our rv and fell down a pothole which was that deep it was nearly up to my knee. the whole carpark was full of them.we had to play dodgems to avoid them but one of them we couldnt avoid and our twin wheels went bang into a big crater we checked the tyre and axle couldnt see any damage we then went on our way we didnt get far we had a blow out we had to wait three hoiurs for commercial breakdown and a we have had to get a new tyre which cost us 350 pounds. they say to take a break but we will not stop there again. luckily it was daylight so we could see most of the holes. they charge enough i n these places they need to spend some on the condition of the place. if a caravan goes down these holes it would be enough to break the axle,an accident is just waiting to happen

d hunt, 10 August 2009

I managed to leave my glasses somewhere between Wiltshire and Derby. One possible was Strensham North. I was given the number for the duty manager who promptly phoned me back, checked the seating area I had used, spoke to customers there and to Costa staff and then explored the area where I had parked. He then gave me the number where I could speak to the day staff who look after lost property. He was most helpful and I hope he gets to read this. A big thank you. (I had left them in Wiltshire, by the way)

Bill, 17 July 2009

Lovely services, wish they could all be like this, bright airy and modern lots of leather sofas! Costa coffee is expensive compared to local high street outlet, but then they know we are trapped don't they!! Service was average, perhaps Costa should put experienced staff in new outlets for a while to smooth things over whilst it gets started, rather than well meaning young staff whose first language is not English - bless 'em! All told though a very nice break in very nice surroundings - recommended :-)

Tim Woodward, 20 May 2009

I am writing to complain about the state of the roads on the southbound side of the services. i recently left the services towing a caravan via the lorry park exit and the pot holes were
really bad, it was impossible to avoid them even at slow speed. then a few miles down the m5 i got a puncture in my tyre!!! please sort them out. i will now be avoiding this services in the future.

claire, 28 April 2009

My Partner Jayne and I were travelling back to South Wales after landing in Birmingham Airport coming back from a holiday in Benidorm. jayne is a diabetic, and she injects insulin 4 times a day. Jayne felt ill, so we called in to Strensham Services to get her some food and let her rest, She was feeling ill and I can`t drive, so we were stuck. Two Ladies who work at the Services helped us and phoned an ambulance for her. They were so kind and helpful to us, with all that was going on, we forgot to get their names but we are so grateful for the professional way they helped us.THANK YOU BOTH SO VERY MUCH

mike hawkins, 20 April 2009

I work at Strensham Services so let me clarify a few things. The staff do all that they can so don't blame us for huge queues lets not forget that the people you are queueing behind are just members of the public as yourselves thus face the same problems. Receipts cannot be reprinted later on as the till system can only reprint the last receipt that was put through the till so this isn't our fault either. Coffee is most expensive at Costa because it is of higher quality than all the other outlets at Strensham. Also If you are comparing the prices with Soho Coffee they are cheaper not only because the coffee isn't as good but also because they're cups are smaller!! Health and safety is very important to management at Strensham and if there are any issues, inside or out, please tell the duty manager and I can assure you they will make sure the Site Director knows about it. The heating system is a problem because when rebuilding Southbound management decided to cut corners and get a cheap system that isn't powerful enough for the size of the building, staff are just as annoyed about it as you are and we have to work in it for 8 hours a day. Food quality is also highly important and if there are any issues this should also be reported to the duty manager, any of the staff will be able to tell you who that is and where to find them, if they don't get them themselves. Food is not kept for hours it isn't kept longer than a quarter of that to my knowledge this still isn't acceptable but I'm not in charge. Remember when you are visiting if there are any problems with the services report them to a manager as they are paid to sort them out and regular staff members aren't!! And there is a difference in wages!!

Anonymous, 27 February 2009

HGV parking is much too expensive and my boss wont refund full price..

Larry, 29 January 2009

We stop at Strensham Southbound every other Sunday evening (sad life). During November and December 08 it has been freezing with stone cold radiators and air con pumping out cold air. Very unpleasant.

Visited Strensham M5 services yesterday. I must say absolutley fantastic. Service with a smile. Thank you to the team and management, a very well run site. See you all again soon

James Fairburn, 28 September 2008

Very modern services, open plan. Very clean. Child neutral not child friendly

Mrs Walker, 27 September 2008

Visited the services in late July on a cloudy but very warm Saturday afternoon. Never before have I seen so many people at a motorway services. The place was heaving. I fancied a coffee to take away, so I ordered one at the coffee outlet with the shortest queue. I paid for my coffee and waited for it to be made and given to me. I waited nearly 15 minutes before I joined the queue again and demanded a refund. I went and got my coffee at the other outlet - which was cheaper.

James (Bristol), 18 September 2008

Dear sir we stopped at strensham south yesterday we parked our car in the corner facing the motorway as we sat for a few minutes before coming over to the resturant for some food we noticed movement in the undergrowth only to see six rats running about'as we walked down further there was more running around sorry to tell you but you have a serious problem and it needs to be sorted asap we enjoyed our meal and the staff were lovely thank you most sincerely P H BURGESS

PAUL H BURGESS, 15 September 2008

My family consisting of 4 adults and 4 children stopped at Strensham North Bound on Saturday 23rd August 2008. We were in two cars it was so busy we were unable to eat due to the queues so we all used the toilets bought a sandwich in the shop and left. As we were in 2 cars and unable to park near each other but wanted to swap passengers some returning to Cheshire and ourselves to Anglesey Wales I was walking across the carpark with one of my Grandchildren looking for our car which my husband had parked further back in the car park. Realising I was in the wrong line of cars I walked between the cars to get to the next isle near one of the posts that tells you about the parking charges. suddenly I realised my ankle was twisting because half my left foot was on pavement and the other half in mid-air I was launched forward, tried to gain my footing and at the same time miss hitting the metal pole with the parking details on it but the pavement wasn't there for my right foot to land on and I was twisted to my right landing very hard on my right chest and smashing my right arm on the edge of a concrete pit edge. This was caused because what I hadn't realised was that there were tree pits dug out of this pavement area between the cars these pits covered in with chippings but being about 3 or 4 inches lower but because there was no tree in that particular tree pit which I fell into, I didn't expect it and I couldn't see it while looking across for our car. I am 62 and was very jolted, a man in a near car came to help me and soon after all our family found me. I was much too shaken to come back into the station and we couldn't afford to spend the time in the middle of the journey with 4 tired children. I have a huge bruise on my left forearm which at the time instantly came up like an egg and is now literally black & blue this I think was caused when I hit it on the concrete edge of the pit, I grazed my right knee and right elbow but the worst thing I now realise was the way I landed on my right chest. I suspect I have badly bruised internally or fractured a rib it is still very painful particularly by my breast bone and round to my middle back 5 days later and I am still having difficulty lying down and turning over in bed at night. I think I was very lucky not to have broken my arm and know that a rib injury will only take time to heal there is nothing they can do in hospital for that. I think you should look into raising the level of the chippings in these pits and put something into the empty pits. My husband pointed out that there were several with no trees in them which means that anyone like me looking where they are going can miss them underfoot.

Mrs N. Wiley, 27 August 2008

Sunday afternoon: toilet hand-dryers out of order, main coffee service limited because of machine fault, one Costa closed and queue for the other snaking through foyer -- I'll never stop here again, and suggest others don't either.

Alan , 8 July 2008

My wife and I visited Strencham last evening (24 6 08)at 9p.m. - we wanted something to eat and so I asked the lady behind the counter what was available. She stated that she had little in the way of hot meals and so gave us a choice of what was left. Both my wife and I asked for Steak pie, chip and veg. The assistant asked the chef what veg was available - he put his hand in the peas and said that they were not hot but could re-heat them. This he did (after taking his hand out of them) Whilst waiting for our meal, two foreign gentlemen asked for food (hot baguettes) which they received. Our meal then came and so we paid for it and sat down. Both my wife's pie and mine was obviously a number of hours old, and they had attempted to re-heat them but failed as they were just warm, the chips, again old, were only just warm and the peas as stated earlier were re-heated. My wife could not eat her meal and so left it, and then purchased a continental breakfast as that was the only option available that was edable. Across from us the two foreign gentlemen had also left their meals.
The food was terrible, and as I had not received a receipt for my meal, I asked for one so that I could put it against my expenses. The lady stated that I was not able to get one as it was too late.
The meals were £7.75 each for the steak pie, chips and peas, and then a further £5.25 for a continental breakfast, plus two teas. If the food stopped at 9p.m. and there was no fresh food available we would have accepted this. Instead they stated that they were still serving food and that we would have to wait 10 minutes whilst they made the food to order. We are disgusted with the food we received and hope that you take action in remedying this complaint.
I must say that we have eaten at Roadchef many times and found the food acceptable, however, on this occassion we found it not only poor but also astonished that the chef put his hands in the food to test it. Having a restaurant ourselves (In Whitby, North Yorkshire) we know that he must have a temperature probe available in the kitchen.
I await your reply on this matter.

It was a sharp crisp, Thursday morning, when Strensgam Services changed my life....forever. The inviting pine tones of a solitary bench invited me to sit on there, and it was in this fateful place, that I had, quite possibly, the nicest fag of my life. I owe all of this experience to Strensham. This is not only my favourite service station of all time, but possibly my favourite place, IN THE WHOLE WORLD.

Regina Fellangi, 30 April 2008

North bound services. The service area is always of a reasonable standard clean & tidy. But the fuel station OH MY GOD they must search the country to find the rudest most obnoxious ignorant staff on the market, I'm sure it must stem from the local management, it cannot be an accident that all the staff are so rude. I use this depot a lot and witness arguments all the time and most are caused by the bad manners and could'nt care less attitude of the staff there. I was telling a colleague about it recently and described it as the service station equivilent of Fawlty Towers. About a week later he stopped there and witnessed a massive argument between a female member of staff and a hgv drver which my colleague said was caused by her rude manners. If you're passing stop there for 15 minutes it's always good for a laugh, but don't upset the staff or you'll wish you had'nt.

I can't thank the staff enough for letting me know that my Mum's purse had been left behind when she was on a coach trip recently. I was even able to let her know it was safe - before she noticed it was missing - thus avoiding major panic!!!The purse was posted out (with all contents intact) to me within days. We were really impressed with the caring, honest and efficient staff.

Just wanted to say a huge Thank-you to the guys @ Strensham North. I spilt my Costa coffee over myself and car seat on the way to a job interview last week, the staff and management were fantastic, they showed me towards there Cotton Traders store so i could get some new trousers, a cleaner washed the coffee off my car seats, and covered the seat with bin bags and gave me a new coffee(even though it was my mistake). This was service behond the normal. And I GOT THE JOB.

Mr.Roberts, 4 November 2007

I broke down here on Tuesday evening 23rd October and would just like to thank one of your employees who came to help me and push my car to a safe place and then very kindly got me a cup of coffee. I was driving with my 2 children and it was reassuring to have someone there while waiting for the breakdown services. so a big thank you.

Mrs Debbie Scott, 25 October 2007

Two friends and I were stranded at Strensham because of the floods on Friday 20th July 2007. The staff were excellent, still pleasant and cheerful on Saturday morning, despite having been on duty for 24 hours. Well done and thank you.

I refused to buy any food from here on the way back from Alton Towers and was glad I did so. One taste of my sister's food made me spit it out.

As a regular motorway traveller, im well adept at stopping at services, and Strensham North is always spot on for customer service, why cant it happen everywhere else?

Needed some gas - and guess what - only the one double sided LPG pump and it was out of order - luckily I managed to get home, last filled up at Okehampton

I was taken suddenly ill with heat exhaustion at the Services on a long journey from Warrington back home to Brixham in Devon, which resulted in me being carted off to hospital in an ambulance. I would personally like to thank the Duty Manager Dave Berry for all the help and First aid assistance he gave me at the time, until the ambulance came. Without his expertise I would have been in a very serious condition. But he acted swiftly and very professionally to make sure I was treated as quickly as possible. He was also very concerned and helped the rest of my friends, who were very shaken by the ordeal, to take extra time out with more coffee etc, before continuing on their journey. He was my knight in shining armour, and when I pass that way again, I shall call in and personally thank him. Once again many thanks, Maureen Sowerby

Mrs Maureen Sowerby, 24 July 2006

i have just visited these services and brought a meal from wimpy. it was stone cold and inedible in fact it wouldn't be fit for a dog. i am appalled that the staff there can sell food of this standard maybe they could do with some food and hygeine training, there is a time limit that food is allowed to be kept warm for, the staff were not busy so why did this happen? too lazy to cook a fresh meal obviously.

mr paul dutton, 19 June 2006

people please calm down this issue is not that the space in the car park or the coffe, it is that wimpys is still their which is sumit we shud give praise to. Buggz

Max Kurton, 16 June 2006

Much better now its been re-developed. Before you ran the risk of being run over by lorries going to the outside loos! The Eateries are cleaner, the shop well stocked and the petrol forecourt is much easier to get into for us big car drivers!

Sharon, 5 June 2006

Iv never been to a services as busy as Strensham North, and iv never been surprised how good the service was. Over 50 coaches in the coach park, every till open in the building and service with a smile everywhere. Great to see.

Ivan, 24 March 2006

I stronlgy disagree with the other 2 reviewers.I think that the Costa coffee shop at Strensham is superb. Very comfy and spacious, with wonderful products and friendly staff.

scarlet, 23 March 2006

I'm with Paul (October 2005) on this one: the old place pre-redevelopment was dated but at least it worked. The car park is now a disaster, and inside the buildings, the cacophony is unbearable when it's busy.

Alan, 17 March 2006

Whoever redesigned these services wants shooting! The car park is now totally unworkable with long queues to get in and out! The new building is also badly designed with it being virtually impossible to get to any of the shops or food due to other travellers milling round in front of them!
