Woolley Edge has a fast charger station for Renault and Nissan cars, just the one but at least they have something rather than nothing like Birch Services on the M62 although I hear they are getting one soon

I could not find an address to send my thanks so will have to do it on the comments section. I use the service station on the 19th of August, on the way back from Staffordshire. When I dropped my wallet in the ladies toilets, I didn't realise it was missing till the next day. I called Woolley Edge Service and expected the same answer as I had from the previous six call of places I could have lost it. the lady on the other end of the call asked a few questions and said yes they had it and could pick it up when I finished work. All my money and credit cards were still in the wallet. I don't know the word to express my gratitude as thank you just is not enough, I was a lovely surprise to find honest people in the world to day. I came into your service station on 30 May and won Ã‚Â£14 on the fruit machine, but because of a fault the machine didn't pay out. It came up with an error message "not enough money in the machine". I was told I couldn't just get the money, I need to fill out a form for the company that owns the machines and a cheque would be sent. Two months later I still haven't received the money I am owed. Can you please do something about this as it has now become a Trading Standards issue.

Stopped at your service station briefly yesterday for a Costa coffee which was good as usual. Disappointed and surprised to be charged Ã‚Â£1.96 in the shop for a tube of fruit pastilles and small bag of randoms for my grandchildren.

Having visited this service area several times and elated at costa I decided to have a baked potato today from the moto cafe. Never again. I was charged just under Ã‚Â£10for a baked potato, cheese and beans with a coffee. Complete rip off. There was not enough beans or cheese to cover the potato, the plate was luke warm so the meal quickly became cold. The pathetic piece of salad had two shrivelled bits of cucumber.I will never eat there again.

Although the cleaner was possibly too quick as I never actually got chance to see the toilets getting cleaned when I went to the coach for just 5 minutes, what fantastic service! It was such a memorable experience at Woolley Edge Services, absolutely fandabidozey!

The toilets were outstandingly clean! Just minutes after the red light came on, a cleaner immediately saw to them and made sure everything was okay. Very impressed, I would love to go there again!
Toilets alright but brought my own drinks. I found the entrance confusing and ended up in the HGV park. Even worse although stressed going to my Dad's funeral on leaving the slip road for the M1, checked noHGVS coming out and if my wife had not shouted ould have collided with a car I did not see from my left. Simply was I wrong was he wrong or what happened. Answers please I have used many more services with no problem.

I stopped off at Burger King with my family for a meal - the service was bad as the gentleman who served us was very dismissive - we counted at least 20 flies on the signage above the counter! The portins were very small and when we opened the drink cups 3 were more than half filled with ice cubes!Sorry but would not stop here again.

I am an HGV driver and I stopped at the northbound services at 7pm on the 10th March 2011. I have never seen such a disgusting sight in my life! The toilets were FILTHY and there was no toilet paper. The floor and the sinks were covered in filth - when did they last seen a cleaner????? Even the remainder of the building could do with a clean: even a quick sweep would not go amiss. What really annoys me is that, after a long and tiring day in my truck, I have to pay good money to stay in a slum.You will not see my custom again and the word has been put about in the company I work for.

These beggars charge 50p to put air in your tyres. DfT policy encourages these sevcie stations to provide safety items such as ari and water for free. Clearly these guys are more interested in money than safety

I visit woolley edge most weeks on my journey up and down the M1, i have not yet had a bad experience, the costa and M&S are excellent for me, as i can grab and go or met collegues her. The toliets are always fresh and have lovely flowers at the entrance (nice touch).

Visited the restaurant mid afternoon on Thursday 26th August 2010. There were few customers but most tables had dirty crockery etc on them there was litter on the floor. Very few staff were around and no one was seen to clear any tables the whole time we were there. I could not see that there was a managers office on site otherwise I would have complained there and then. A very unpleasant experience. I think we will keep on driving when next passing Wooley Edge

I know that Moto have an appeals process for anyone who feels they shouldn't have received a parking notice. If you or someone you know has been a customer or fallen asleep and a parking notice has been issued, log onto the moto web site and get in touch with them. They also have a duty manager available who can deal with any customer concerns or queries before you leave site.

I stopped at Wooley Edge on the 16/07/2010 because I was feeling tired and as the signs tell us to take a break, went into the services had an overpriced second rate meal, used the facilities and went back to my vehicle, and fell asleep, for a bit longer than i should have? or was it needed, for me to than carry on my journey safely, wrong!!! for I have now received a parking charge notice for Ã‚Â£80 for sleeping 59 minutes longer than I should have ,be warned they take no prisoners, better to try and keep awake and pass by Wooley Edge, be it be the food or the rip off parking.

My husband and myself had cause to stop here for a meal today and the food that was on offer was dried up and very unappetizing, and there was so much that was not available we did not have much choice, we would have gone elswhere but as my husband is diabetic he had to eat, the staff were very lethargic and didnt seem to want to be bothered.All in all a vey dissapointing and expensive visit

These have the WORST CAR signage of ALL the services that I have EVER visited!!! Bloomin' awful. Ended up at the HGV diesel pump(as did another car at the same time) After asking the 'staff' why it's so awful i got a response 'there is a pic of a car in the sign'. Cheeky 'person'! But then again all he does is work in a shop! I was FUMING!!!!! I'd rather run out of fuel than deal with them and thankfully I'll avoid paying their rip off prices!!!! Still fuming!!! Grrrr

Having just visited Woolley Edge services on the M1 I thought I should give my fellow commuters an update on how their services fair.
The car park is suitably close to the main amenities resulting in a surprisingly pleasent short walk to the front door. Ã‚Â When the weather is poor you'll thank the service station planner for their forward thinking in this regard.
Entering into the main foyer one is immediately greeted by colour and vibrancy of the M&S fruitstand. Other service stations please take note, this is a nod in the right direction for the health conscious commuters' well-being.
M&S presents the usual variety of high quality food stuffs at a cheaper price than other shops within the station. It should be noted, however, that food here still comes at a premium cost. Well oiled commuters will already be aware of the pitfalls of service station prices! As a side note I recommend avoiding M&S pastry goods as their consistency may be compared with that of Lesley Ash's mouth.
Anyway, I digress. Further exploration of the service station led to a Costa Coffee and a Burger King. The layout in this area is fraught with obstacles and one is lead astray by the bizarre and illogical internal planning which culminated in a needless detour that cost valuable seconds. I can only surmise that there were different internal and external designers involved at the design stage.
I was a little disappointed by the level of service offered by the M&S employee at the checkout point. She seemed more concerned with replying to a text message than completing the transaction. I'm pleased to report that no such issues were encountered with the staff at Costa Coffee although my co-passenger did complain that his tea was a little too milky.
As this was the first stop on my journey I had no need to visit the lavatories and cannot comment but I am sure that a review of a service station further South on the M1 will appear in the very near future.Ã‚Â
Upon exiting the services my driver found the layout a little confusing and had to retrace his route against the direction of the arrows. Needless to say this was a little disconcerting and I have subtracted from the burger score accordingley.

it is the last M1 service heading north and first one coming back down, the next one up is at junction 61 durham station or if you like one of the small one on the A1. it is normally a must for me to stay, the service always good around 7:00pm every thursday on the north bound and generally ok everytime i go to south bound.

Stopped here for lunch while heading north. It is a small service area run by Moto. The main facilities are crammed inside a rather old shabby looking building. The building is no better inside. All the usual Moto features are there but on a much-reduced scale. Main complaints (all about the food served in the restaurant) are: no butter or spread served with the bread rolls; apple was brown and rotten on the inside; ham was dry and tasteless (and left uneaten).

This is not a complaint about the service station. It was clean, served basic meals with good service. We were disappointed to find that the meals, apart from snacks, were mostly served in batter with chips. The establishment was basically a good transport cafe. We normally stop at Woodall Service Station if going North on the M1 but decided to go on further last time. My suggestion is that the Highways Agency should give some indication for people unfamiliar with the service stations, including foreigners, of this type of place (eg.a symbol to show limited menu or facilities?). This needs to be before the previous station to avoid having to go on even further before taking a break.

Used the ATM on the Northbound service area. No signs indicated that it was a "charging machine" at a rate of 1:85.... this must be a recent change and When I asked I was shown a small section, blurred and off screen that mentioned the charge ... I wonder how many other people have been "ripped off" by this change in policy and very poor signage.

Overpriced, bad food, staff to slow, I had to wait half an hour for a bowl of chips by the time I got them I was ready to go on my way.... really expensive food and drink but we have to stop there so they have by our you know whats.

I somehow lost my rear number plate on the way to Sheffield. 2 ladies in the shop were very helpful in supplying me with a piece of paper and indicating where I could borrow some crayons in order to make up a temporary number plate. Unfortunately neither were in the shop when I left I did not get the opportunity to thank them before I continued my journey and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them both for their help.
